Amazing quality of story telling. I loved it when u compared first date to ur first meeting with that cheater, it was very poetic. As always love your videos. Keep em coming!❤
A fascinating presentation which you obviously put a lot of work into. Enjoyed the video but at the same time share your frustration about such "players"
I don't understand much chess But i love to watch your streams and your videos....love to listen to you always... from explaining complex chess positions to promoting london system to talking about samosas... By the way...very nice video and very well put together presentation....
Your cheater was completely stupid and blatant, not even attempting to pretend to think for a while about moves. And yet the arbiters were slow to respond or believe you. Just imagine how many people completely get away with cheating who have an ounce of sense or better planning. I like how you don't outright say they should be banned for life but that's exactly what should happen.
Crazy. I cannot believe how naive arbiters are concerning this. There must be a lot of players tempted to do this for prize money and chess tutor work. Good on Magnus for bringing more attention to this.
In today's world cheating is really going to increase exponentially and not every tournament will have the same level of fair play checks as Carlsen's tournaments. Kudos to Carlsen.
Some State tournaments allow players for toilet breaks which is exploited by cheaters... this happened to me when I was playing on Board 4 in a state championship... Dunno whether me opponent was truly cheating but his defence against my aggressive sac was a bit unorthodox, with computer moves when I analyzed... maybe a coincidence or not..
Today I was playing a arena arranged by IIT Kanupur, if I am not mistaken, I saw a 700 beat a 1967 with kings gambit in like 19 moves I guess. I was spell bound
I have to say some of the moves in the endgame can be found by a 1500 as I am myself a 1500 but I consider myself underrated...but the way he outplayed you in the game is definitely suspicious
So far I've played only one tournament, but in my next tournament I'll be a bit sacred of this thing. And the worst part is, since I'm not very strong so even tho my opponent cheats, i might not be able to realise it because i might think that he's a strong player tho
I think when you're a beginner, if someone cheats, they would also not be good enough to figure out how to cheat smartly. Simply comparing their moves later to engine play and checking the amount of time they take, is enough. Have fun in your next tournament :)
RF1 RF4 A4 ARE REALLY SUSPICIOUS no 1500 can find it atleast not me but I think ne2 idea can be played by an 1500 player so let's give him benifit of doubt for this.he is a cheater for sure
Nice video. The cheater was very dumb here it seems but that's can't be the case everytime. What Magnus has done is actually a very important battle he has chosen to fight here for health of chess. We cannot assume fair play in this day and age and some counter measures must be introduced by FIDE although I don't have much hope from them on this. They couldn't even negotiate with Carlsen to make him play the World Championship. But the cheating needs to be kept in checked it will never go away but efforts need to be made nonetheless. This was bound to happen sometime i.e. Addressing cheating in chess and I hope smart people will come up with counter technologies and measures to keep cheaters at bay.
