I just back from fishing myself. Clam Bayou in Gulf port. Didn’t do great. Caught a 12 inch red drum. Caught 2 yesterday. One was 17 inches just shy of a keeper. Did see the manatees😁. Going to try another spot the next couple days.

Nice mang. Caught a 20 incher on the skyway couple weeks ago and I haven’t caught any bigger than 14 inches before so I was in disbelief. I got him on a flair hawk of all things. Craziest catch ever. I thought it was a grouper too. Hope to see you one day 🫡

thonny, I got a 29" gag off my secret bridge last weekend brother. pb for that spot. previous best was 28" and the crazy thing was a got about a 5 pound sheep head fishing with a big pinfish. hooked in the mouth so it was tryin to eat it brother.

i hate to ask a silly question but im fairly certain you are on the gulf pier at 10 minutes?

I caught my biggest and best ever fight ever at the Gulf side ft DeSoto. 60+ pound hammerhead on spinning reel and rod combo with only 15 pound mono!! 25 lb mono leader!! Yep that's right trilene mono! Took me down to a foot of line before being spooled and grabbed the rod and line near tip and thought for sure it would snap but I got it to turn ! I thought it was a big ray the way it just straight pulled all the way and is what I was catching on out going tide there . Anyway got it to turn and would get a little line back then it would take it back and we played that game for a few minutes . Then I started to get some gain on him . Started getting closer to pier and it started to dive . That err err err pull like a sail cat would do . Then I thought damn I got a f-ing sail cat . So once I got him to the pier and started pulling him from the bottom and felt the weight to him I thought i must have a state record sail cat or something. But once I got him to the top of water I was pleasantly surprised. Was a beautiful really girthy of muscle just a beautiful hammer . About 6 ft . Yep 15 lb on spinng reel and rod and mono baby ! Will never forget that ! But it sucks they close the park last time I went . Can't fish past dark . Very sad ! I used to go there in the daytime and fish all night into the morning . Have a ton of greenbacks . And if your there and the tide changes to outgoing right before sunrise , step on 5-10 dozen greenback and toss them in and soon as that tide starts to get flowing a bit your fishing is on !!! Absolute shame you can't fish overnight any longer.
