I wouldn't be to quick about their "tiny" brain, Look at all Crows & Parrots & how smart they are. Birds are also much longer around than humans & the descendants of non avian dinosaurs.

It's terrifying to know that these goofy looking fowls, who usually catch fish and small food, can and somehow end up eating rabbits (sometimes whole) and pigeons. Nature is scary sometimes
Seagulls cannot eat rabbits whole, think about the size of a rabbit then think of the size of a seagulls mouth, then realise what a stupid thing you've just said
Pelicans are worse, they will try to gobble anything as large as it or bigger, no don't they would try to take down a giraffe if they wanted with no success.
i saw one eating a pigeon irl, it was sad and ankward at the same time, the pigeon friend was there and did nothing, meanwhile the pigeon did nothing too for multiple minutes

I think the guy just got lucky, and the gull couldn't get much leverage at that angle. Plus it's a ring-billed, which don't have as much proportional bite force as larger gulls. Replace it with a herring gull, and he'd have a gash on his arm after that, if not a piece missing.

It just so happens we have also caught a seagull. Just on accident. It is a short story, we had a frozen bull minow or shrimp on the hook and casted right off of the southern side of Horn Island. A seagull caught the bait on the hook, luckily, it let go once relizing there a sharp pokey thing between his talons.
Humans are one of the the clumsiest, slowest animals on the planet capable of competing with other animals only through the use of tools. Imagine being caught by one using nothing but their hands.. Honestly the bird deserves to be eaten.

I once captured one with a broken wing using a towel. We fed it and fixed it the best we could before releasing it. Bitey thing, but it was a good experience.
Did the same years ago, it has since found a mate, and nested nearby for 3 years, bringing its young by for snacks etc, the cats love them and will actually eat alongside them.

Heh, I get you. Despite not being super lethal, birds pecks can be a little painful, very little! But it's worse when they hold on their bite, and it pinches you. At least that's a seagull and they don't have the sharpest of beaks. Imagine how a pinch peck from a bird of prey would feel like however!
Last year I sat down outside a lovely cafe in Dorset with a delightful piece of coffee cake and a cup of tea. A seagul swooped down and took a massive bite out of the cake. I managed to grab hold of its neck but then didn't really know what to do with it as it flapped wildly in my hand so I let it go. Moments later I saw it with an empty packet of Monster Munch on it's head next to a crying child. The childs father was waiting patiently for it to finish so he could dispose of the packaging.

I hate these nasty creatures I had been attacked by a bunch of seagulls when i was on the terrace just for no reason + They shit everywhere and their sound is so annoying it does trigger me so bad , especially when sometimes they go crazy at night and keep making a terrible noise the whole night ! They are the only reason that i hate livin' near coast for .
I love seagull calls, I care for a family of them after one was injured nearby, they’ve taken to nesting close by and will bring their young too. What you have to remember is that we stole their land from them, and we provide them with an easy source of food by eating unattended out in public i areas where they are waiting to feed, people don’t really have a right to have an issue with them.
