Fished the county pier down the road back in the early 80's in Panama city beach and saw a guy catch a 10 ft. Hammerhead at night with the head of a Bonita for bait. He had to landed it just like you did and it took over a hour to land it. Unfortunately it was different times ,and they hauled it off the beach, and into a truck ,and away they went. Just a kid but will never forget it !!!

Out of the 6 people I saw try to catch those same reds , you were the only one to stick one that day,,, you were a lucky man..wait that was PC, never mind,,,lol,, I was in Pensacola, about 20 bulls came thru nobody was able to get one to chew....
I’ve been watching your videos since last year off and on trying to better understand saltwater fishing for our Panama City beach vacations with our kids. I love fishing with them but last year we didn’t catch hardly anything. Hopefully when we go this July we can land some big fish, some pompano and mackerel

Nice when I was out there The other day and I’m hooked into probably a 40 inch redfish about the size as yours but yours is bigger and it came off when I try to get on Pier I didn’t have a net and I couldn’t beach it was too late at night.🥺 Great job.
That's awesome man! Nice fish. I'm going down there next month and I hope I can catch something like that off the pier. I've fished off that pier a couple times before but with no luck because I didn't really know what I was doing. This time I'm preparing and hopefully I can catch something to take back and eat.

I hate to be the one to say differently , but I just caught one a couple weeks ago from the shallow end of the county pier that was 31 inches long and close to 23 pounds , and yes I took a pic with it
Why try to intentionly catch a fish you know you can't keep? It stresses them out for no reason. If the line breaks, the line will be creating an extra hazard in the water. The fish will eventually be line free.

As a local here in Panama City Beach, Florida glad you let it go because hes over slot legally. Slot here is 18 to 27 " That's a good size Redfish, but by far its NOT THE BIGGEST REDFISH. Nor the BIGGEST fish caught on the pier. My husband's was 45 lbs. I have pic if you want to see it. We fish 6 times a week at Russell Fields Pier. Dont know why your title states ' biggest on the pier' when Kings and Tarpon were caught that day. Also, you beached it. Your Redfish was not caught on the pier as your title states,you beached it.
