While flatheads are my favorite fish to catch period, catching them on artificials is something else. It may be the most intense and exciting way to get em in my opinion, and I was lucky enough to land 2 this trip! I hope y'all enjoy! Like, comment, SUBSCRIBE!

@@coltonfishesYou handled that Flathead perfectly. The drag and rod bend are there to be used. Just sat down with my coffee, then some gas station (better than chicken restaurants) fried chicken and a craft beer, then 20 miles to the Sacramento River. I can see the levee of a nearby river from this parking lot but will drive 20 miles across the valley to escape tweakers and my car being broken into. I’m lucky to have that option.

Hey nice catch .. I have a question ? I’m still kinda new to fishing , why do people tie like mono liter to braid and not just use straight braid

It really depends on where you’re fishing and what for! If I’m fishing somewhere with clean water for anything that is not catfish, I’ll always tie a flouro leader because the fish will be able to see your braid in the water. Catfish don’t care whatsoever, I just use a leader for them because I fish around lots of trees and rocks which will rip through braid like nothin. Hope that helps my friend!
