A suggestion on the KP cable to get it to straighten a bit-lightly steam OR run it across a warm spot on your body-back of neck, back of knee, armpit, etc.

I’ve been afraid of doing a shawl after failing at doing the BOD madness one because I picked the wrong yarn. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I need something simple. I guess shawls aren’t something I use. I don’t like things around my neck 🤷🏻‍♀️. Hence the reason I’ve never made one. I’ll keep looking. I have yarn longing to be made into one!! 😊

Since you like the virus shawl so much, you may like to do The Fluffy Marange shawl, it's the virus with a twist to it, added texture. If I remember correctly, Mikey from the Crochet Crowd put that video out a few years back. I did that one not realizing it was 1 step "harder" than the virus, lol. It's a shame you are having issues with the knitting needles, I know someone who would love to have them (hint - hint) 😜
