When you wreck the cars in first and second place by pushing a car sideways through 3 and 4 its kinda a dick move. I get rubbins racing, but as someone that has raced I judge someone by how they race others. Its nice that Kevin apologized.

I do sim-racing as a hobby....which is different from racing IRL but I use it to train and get good techniques down. That move is one that I would have made. It was just a little to much and that sent SXS down. Ah well glad no-one was hurt and that is just a part of racing.

Yeah, those cages are well built for what they are. But those cages aren't sufficient for as hard as they're racing. No diagonal bracing. No A-pillar bars. No halo. Improper seats for circle track racing. If things keep going like this, the next Crown Vic race will end with someone in the back of an ambulance.

Being an old dirt racer from way back, I'm surprised Bristol let the Vics race tbh. You're correct about not having sufficient cages in these cars. A flip or barrel roll in one of these at 80mph would not have ended well and most likely would have been the end of these races on big, fast race tracks. Kevin, sh!t happens my man. No ones giving these trolls who say otherwise any second thought. Carry on dude. *EDIT* I also understand what it would have cost Garret if he had equipped 30 Crown Vics with a proper cage and seats. So before that gets brought up, I get it. A fine line (with safety) can only be walked on for so long. I also understand that. Take this how you will.

Agreed, wasn't needed but we all know the kind of man Kevin is and he own's up to his mistakes, it's why I have a lot of respect for the man. That being said we all knew going into the Crown Vic races Cleet puts on that it's never going to be all that clean of a race because you get such a range of racing skills on the track all together, there's bound to be mistakes made it's part of the reason people like the events so much.

Yeah KSR ain't a bad dude and it is a race so I cant blame him, not that I wouldve resorted to passing like that. Hopefully everyone can learn from this. In my opinion Cleet shouldve really had zero contact rules for this race. For a few reasons, as kevin said it is extremely hard to correct a slide on a bank that steep, but a slide someone else created is near impossible for drivers lacking experience on that track in those freshely setup cars. Second reason being that Cleetus' cages/safety gear is probably not suitable for the crashes that were possible on that track. And the last reason being that on a longer, faster, steeper and 100% consistent track, non contact passes are considerably easier than their usual races. Mostly due to slipstreams/drafting being more influential but also because drive (exit speed) is a bigger factor and a larger variety of lines can be used. Non contact racing isn't the same as timed racing like Kevin tried to imply.

@@Jake_Hamlin simply put these cars just aren’t made for this. If it didn’t happen at the beginning it wouldn’t happened later on, everyone was just more careful after seeing what happened.

When a car is going fast in a turn a real racer knows you can't bump him in the back. Especially with a crappy car. He's an idiot. Rub them on the door in the straight s. That's all fun. But don't be hitting in the turns. You can push when you get out of the turn But not in the middle.

@@nickmccain6598 it’s literally an entire strategy in circle track racing that gos back forever, they had to fine drivers, change the bumper designs, or use “no-zones” to try and fight it. A real racer would know this…

this is what made the first one at the FF so much fun. just straight up shenanigans all race. Bristol probably had to take some more safety into account, given its a pro track, but still, shit happens.
