But then from an entertainment standpoint, saying you're 1v1ing someone that sucked up to you can look bad on your brand as people will just think you want everyone to suck up to you and that's how they get rewarded. Instead the whole "Toxic/haters getting trolled/what they deserve" methodology has just excelled on youtube for YEARS and so is more likely to bring in the numbers, which is what they want at the end of the day. They need to make the most entertaining content in order to attract the biggest and largest audience possible. As well when you said "giving him the attention he wants." everyone that posts positive/encouragin comments ALSO want the same amount of attention and then the argument can be made to just say wow what a suck up, Mertzy only likes fans that worship him.
