I Cheated to Bowl 300 in League! 

At the age of 46, I bowled my first 300 two weeks ago.

Nice shooting on the 300 and 808. I'm 73 y/o. One hand lefty. I'm still able to average in the low 220's in my two leagues. My first 300 and 800 (803) was back in the stone age of 1977 using a Yellow Dot. My last 300 was 2022 and last 800 (815) was earlier this year with a Altered Reality. So far 27 300's and 9 800's (PB 834). I have Honor Scores with Plastic, rubber, urethane, reactive risen . My game plan is big sym solid 12 to 18 frames and then asym pearl. Keep up your fine bowling and you entertaining videos. Thanks...

5-300, 2-800. Every one of them counts! You don't get anything past your first one from the USBC anyways, so who cares what they think! When they all merged and we lost the ABC, the awards went to sh*t!

Definitely count it. I bowled my first 300 while prebowling before going to junior gold during 2022. My high series is a 714. Which I'm definitely getting closer and closer to beating it. These last two weeks for league I shot a 650 and a 656.

1 300 in practice, sanctioned 297 and 296. 1 800 series, 236,280,296-812. Last month, I had front 10, both the first two games, but only shot 789.

I have 1 300 game and 0 800 series to date. I have rolled 289 about 15 times (I stopped counting), my most recent one was week (11/1/2023). 786 was my highest 3 game series. Shooting a 9 bagger just means you figured it out for that game, which is good. Keeping track of these stats is more for personal satisfaction since I'm pretty sure nobody else cares. I have a few rings and trophies/plaques. How you feel about yourself is most important. Thank you Packy for sharing and allowing us to share as well.

Definitely count it personally. I think there is a matter of transition/environment/stress/additional factors to consider for USBC counting it. I think they want it to be an even playing field for all bowlers.

Congrats on the 300 and 800 series! Would I count the 300? Well considering my high game is 288, yeah, I'd count it personally. But I totally agree with the USBC's ruling on pre/post bowling not being eligible for honor awards. Why? Because you gotta do it when the lights are on baby! You're a pro, you get it. Right? HAHA! It counts towards the game/team scores. Oh my high series for 3? Not an 800...haha. 766. Which doesn't suck when you aren't a professional, yes that was with the 288 game....and yes, I know, I blew it in the 10th. Maybe next time I'll get it? My brother has like 5 of them now....but he's been actively in a league since the 70's. I haven't been in a league in 15 years. Oh well...on to the next video!

I would. I bowled a 300 back in the '70s with hard rubber (take that, whippersnappers! ) and a pair of Varapappa 300s (one of them 16 in a row). My ball speed was around 13 mph. I had another game in which I had the front 9, all Brooklyn. Dummy me, I tried to force it into the pocket: big 4! Don't mess with success. 😂

Definitely count it. I bowled my first 300 at the end of the year in the league roll offs. Nice set Packy, I really enjoy watching your video's. You help so many people become bowler's. Keep it up.

I would count that 100%. 300's and 800's are never guarantees and hard to obtain. I am fortunate to have 11 300's and 4 800's. This past summer I shot my 11th 300 in a house I only had a year's experience bowling at. Overall best series was 810. I actually have no 800's that included a 300 in it. The content you are providing are great. Getting to see life outside of just the PBA tour. League bowling is my favorite thing to be a part of and get to watch. Watching the pros themselves is a bonus. Thank you for all the great content. I think another bowling ball tournament should happen. A lot of new equipment has come out and maybe a small format.

2 300s, 2 800s. Shot my highest series just this past January. Haven't shot a league 300 since 2016, but I have a couple in practice. I only tell people about the sanctioned ones, but I do count the practice ones for myself, personally.

Im still getting there, ive been league bowling for about 1 year now as a two hander and its hard to read the lanes and reduce hook, but my highest game was a 208 so far i know i can do better its just gonna take time ❤️ keep up the great content packy

I love ur channel! If u have someone to witness the score like the manager it should be counted! So im 17 and hv been very lucky and hv six sanction 300. Ive had two 800 which to me was harder than a perfect game! I like when you have celebrity pros on ur vids! Prather is always fun!

5-800s with no 300s in them. But I do have 7-300s as well. I think they should all count when pre or post bowling.

I'd count it in my book. I have 5- 300 games. 4 in sanctioned league, and the 5th in No-Tap tourney but it was all real strikes. So I always say I have 5- 300 games in my book! :) Sadly no 800's for me...792, and 798 are my 2 highs my 5- 300's were all over the place. 1) in 1988 2) in 1994 3) in 2008 4) 2010 5) 2012

I have never bowled a 300. Best is 286 (with my dad's old Columbia 3 Dot; on wooden lanes!!!). I have bowled several... SEVERAL 279 games. Hazmat looks like a beast, BTW...

Personally only 3, 300's and 774 high series. I personally would count it! Almost like counting a 300 in no tap if all of them were legitimate. You might miss some transition or pressure in a league setting, but if your league allows pre-bowling or post bowling, absolutely it should count! I enjoy your "actual bowling," but can you do it on a unicycle? (I can 😉)

I got one 300 so far and no 800's 🙁. 300 was during a highschool match so its not sanctioned sadly. I did however, get on hammer's Instagram and Facebook because of it! So that was cool. Only been bowling for a little over a year so hopefully many more to come 🙂

Yes , i would count it. A lot of us have bowled tournaments that were not sanctioned and threw one. I currently have 17 - 300's and 8 - 800's best was sanctioned triplicate 279's for 837

Count them all! I have 3 1 handed, and and (2) 299's, a 298, and 20 in a row 2 handed. I still in search of my first 2 handed 300.

Prebowling honor scores still count in my book. shot my 11th 300 4 weeks ago and then barely missed another 800 the following week. 798. Have 3 800s total. My goal was to have 20 300s and 5 800s before i turned 40. I will be cutting it close. For a one night a week house bowler, Im happy w my spot. Highest set is 855 which to this day feels amazing to have achieved.

3 - 300's and 1 - 800....I would count them all. I would love to get another 800. To me, 800 is more important, consistency is my goal. Haven't shot 800 in about 12 years though. Last 300 was in 2018 I think. Great bowling Packy.

I shot 5 sanctioned 300's back in the 80's and 90's and never considered counting non sanctioned games , but Im retired from bowling now at 68 so maybe my views are antiquated

I'd count them all as personal 300s. To be fair, I don't have any yet (not counting no-tap games), but any that I bowl, I will be counting. No 800s but I'm still proud of my 700.

1 300 and 0 800s. I honestly think they should count no matter what. My only 300 was in a non-sanctioned league but that didn’t make it any less special for me. It just proved that the last 4 years of work finally paid off!

You do not have to keep asking the Ethos to hook. It's going to hook. "Hold" or "push", however, is a valid command. I have not yet found the "Activate voice command" function on my bowling balls. Maybe I should remove the "Made in Mexico" label; it could be under there. And maybe I need to use Spanish commands. I had to give Spanish commands to a neighbor's dog last week, so that's a thing.

I have 2 sanctioned 300 games and 1 sanctioned 800 series which was 804. Have another 300 in a practice league so that would technically be 3 in league. Lost count of how many practice 300’s I’ve had though.

I personally count all. I am lucky enough that USBC still gave me a ring for my last 300. All others were in the ABC era.

I would count it regardless. Too bad USBC doesn't. I have 2 300 both in practice and in different houses. One before league and one after league. The closest I've been to a 300 in league is a 279, but I feel the 300 and 800 series are coming.

1 800, 3.5 300s. The half 300 was from a youth adult Baker Doubles tournament. Hardest 300 was using 6 balls and rolling a dice each frame to see which ball I used.

I say count it personally but officially no. I only count what USBC approves but a 300 is a 300. What I would like to see on this channel, is you bowling on a sport/challenge pattern but using 4 different balls (Strong, weak, 2 mid balls) or something of the sort. Alternating balls, bowl a game with each ball so we can see your ball motion and why a certain ball will look good and/or bad.

Having started bowling in a league whose original purpose was to encourage acceptance and friendship between members of churches from different denominations I strongly dislike pre and post bowling. Having bowlers missing during league has a negative effect on the social aspect of bowling. Should the scores count? I would say no if it were unopposed. Given the way people seem to think they can do whatever they want as long as they don’t get caught I would guess 5-10% of unopposed pre or post bowls might have been, shall we say, ‘tweaked’.

2 300’s. 299, 298, 297…I like to get close. But all on house shots. Should house shots count? I doubt I could average 170 on a sport shot. Then again, I only use 1 ball. I like to keep things simple.

Honor scores don't count when you bowl unopposed either. I found that out the hard way. I still count it for my personal record.

Pre-bowl/post-bowl 300 doesn't count for awards. Personally? I'd count it as a non-competition/practice 300, given the circumstances. Edit: Oh, that catch on the Venom Sho.... Rattler. XD

I’ve bowled on the wrong lane in the tenth frame. It felt like cheating so I went on the correct lane and got 3 flush strikes with no nerves. It’s on the record so I guess I think yours should’ve counted.

Sry to say i disagree. Practice, prebow, and postbowl dont count IMO. The reason i say this is because all three are different from either league, tournament or pot play. The pressure and lane conditions are different. I have 4-300s (3 lefty 1-righty) and 1-800. l

if it counts for league games, scores, points, and standings, then it should count for all things associated with that. makes no sense to do otherwise

As long as you’re not bowling on just 1 lane, I count every honor score. I don’t need an organization to say it’s official or not.

I count all my 300/800s even if a governing body doesn't recognize it....I still threw em.
