Congrats 'K' on winning the Feb 2020 I Ching giveaway. K asked how she could improve her finances through theatre. All these questions are just about work situation and business and marketing and money. Don't we learn anything from the current crisis and the pandemic? Is being so call successful and career the most important question we have in life? What about how can I realize my true self? What is my purpose in life? What would be the most preferable attitude in the current situation?... If we do not wake up as human being to take care of one another, sharing, instead of just wondering about being better, richer, than the neighbor, just concern with our Ego, then we all be very soon in a worse situation. It is no surprise to see where we going when I witness that most questions are about just oneself and that people that can help other and express that their wish is that each of us is living at peace, in harmony using different methods/tools like the I Ching, or Tarot, as clairvoyant or yoga, Qi Kung, are expensive and are not willing to make it accessible to all. We each of us have too much of a capitalism mentality and so each of us make the world we live in. We can witness all the obscenity of capitalism mentality. But do we really care? It seems that as long as I am ok, so it is fine. I hope we each of us wake up and change now to care for one another before it is too late for our specie. I wish you all the best. Hi Luis, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. There are indeed many things in our world that are hard to understand, so we must continue to serve and make the world a better place. On this channel I focus on inspiring others to develop themselves so that we can better serve others, however we choose to do that. I would be cautious about judging someone's sincere question on how they can improve their life. After all, the pursuit of higher things takes finance (whether we like it or not) and more importantly, the luxury of time to pursue those things. Someone working two jobs to feed their family does not easily have the luxury of higher pursuits. So if we build better businesses and improve our financial circumstances we can do more things for others and work towards a better world. @@IChingCafe Thank you for your response. You are correct to remind to be cautious about judging someone's question. However the pursuit of higher things does not takes finance. This is a capitalist distortion of our way of thinking, brainwashed by capitalism mentality. Moreover it does not require the luxury of time to pursue those higher things. Higher pursuits and working 2 jobs to feed a family does not come in contradiction. The higher pursuits is in every day life, in any daily action, at work, at home making dinner, in relationships with the children, coworkers, with the person in the store, in the bus... If the children get food and shelter but no peace in their mind, as the parents too and no higher pursuits possible, then life could easily become meaningless. What is life if it is to have enough to live for, but not knowing what to live for? There is no need to do more things for others if they are based on making money. The world is full of people want to make money in helping other, but what about to help oneself first. First within then without. So many people want to help other but could seriously consider to help themselves first.

Great question! That is up to you. Yes, one question would be asked of all 6 castings, but you can ask once and hold your focus on that question as you cast, or you can also ask each time you cast as a way of really staying present with it. Does that help?

Whoever came up with this stupid idea that the question and its phrasing is important should be chastised. It's a concept that is completely alien to the ancient Chinese - they didn't bother about the question nor the words of it. They simply considered what they wanted to know and that's it. Did you change the question with K.'s consent or was it your own idea to do this? I would love to hear K.'s view of your interpretation.

Thanks for sharing your comment. No word from K yet. With anything, I think it's really important to be clear on the difference between dogma (in all its shapes and forms) and ritual. So my feeling is that each person should find their own ritual and enjoy what that means to them. In my experience with people, when you ask clearer questions you get clearer answers, so when we ask the sage a question, it makes sense that the same holds true. I would love to teleport an ancient I Ching sage into our world right now and get their view of where we are and how we can blend old and new together, as the old can no longer exist as it was in a world fundamentally different in so many ways. Would be interesting! :-)

@@IChingCafe Indeed, be careful about dogma: to each his/her own way. That is why I prefer to say that there are no rules, so if you need them you can make up your own. There are so many books that insist that you should consider your question and its phrasing really well, otherwise the answer that you get will not be clear. But you can't manipulate the oracle like that - you will always get what you need. You talk about 'the sage', a concept used very prominently in the works of Carol Anthony & Hanna Moog, and that immediately defines your framework for the application of the Yijing. It would be great to teleport an ancient Yijing expert to our time! Fortunately we have dozens of examples of early Yijing usage that inform us about the practice & procedures in early China. And what they all invariably show is that the question was not considered important: the diviner addressed (potential) situations or wishes he would like to see fulfilled. Sometimes even this situation or wish was not mentioned. And yet they all got meaningful answers.
