I’ve definitely seen it be apart of many indigenous peoples and certain african cultures to relate hair health to spirituality. It’s interesting to see it in a Christian context. I never thought about it that way.

okkkkk I was like wait is my bun too tight!! Luckily I haven't experienced any breakage and have been wearing the sleek bun for 2 years since chopping. I do think it becomes a problem if you're manipulating it every single day. I usually can wear my bun for a week straight.
C Mitch teach me your ways!! I have to manipulate my hair every day. I have to take my bun down to be able to sleep. I’m 2 years into my transition & my bun is my everyday staple 😝😅
honestly, when you were in High school with the short permed cut- THAT was my favorite you. i feel like nothing will ever top that look. so i’m not at all surprised that you’re chopping your hair off again lol.

When I cut my hair off for the 3rd time in February I would go back and watch your old videos when your hair was this short and it help me so much to style and embrace my hair ❤️
I did my 2nd big chop 3 months ago after being natural for 5 years. My hair was thinning out in the crown, it seems like all my hairstyles were coming out “ugly”. I was so over it. Now my hair is growing back thicker than ever. Good luck on your new hair journey.
I say shave it off 🤷🏻♀️ start completely over honestly maybe it will come back if the shaft is damaged just part ways and keep an positive attitude. My Bestfriend recently went literally bald like a fade and it looks great & is growing in nicely

Sis I’ve been growing my hair out since 2012 I FINALLY got it to grow so long it reached my butt & my ass cut it all off shoulder length 🤷🏻♀️ it feels so refreshingggg I encourage everyone to cut their hair short at least once in their life, it honestly feels amazing 😇

Omg wow! I went through the exact same thing! That’s why videos like this are so important because there’s always someone else going through it. In July I was forced to chop Two years off my natural journey because I got “bored” and played around with color. After my hair was dyed (by a professional mind you) it literally died in my hands, I was so hurt and upset and honestly I still am. It’s coming back slowly but when I think of where I could’ve been I cringe!!😡but you’re outlook is so positive it helps so hear such a great way to look at it! Your hair grows like wildfire so I’m sure it’ll be back real soon!

Girllll when that fine hair gets heat damaged, it loses all of it umphhh. I have the same issues. I get heat damage so fast! my hair looks sore of cute straight, but nothing can compare to my curly naps. You do your thang girl!! We are with you.
OMG, I recently had to do some major hair maintenance on my hair as well (protein treatment and a trim) to combat crown breakage that I was experiencing. I grew mine for 3 years, no heat, not enough trims and decided to get a good trim and silk press it was ALL broken in the back. My hair was in poor conidition. I do believe it's from diet, and slick back pony tails and not enough moisture. I cut 4 inches and i think after a few more styles im chopping it all off! I am not my-HAIR! BLESSINGS!

I am an older woman and did a big chop but for a year now I have struggled everyday with liking it and bad natural curl days and good curls days then the next day it looks nothing like yesterday😢but I feel I look best with the slick down style. And you're hair texture is similar to mine and I LOVE your videos on different ways you style and not just the finger curls styles but your kinda wavy slick styles. Can you put up some of you doing some slick styles with your new cut? I just did the exact same thing for the same reason, heat damage! I cried at first but now I LOVE my short hair & knowing it’ll grow back healthier makes it all worth it. I definitely prefer my curls over the length, sis you look GREAT💕💕💕
Sissss I had to big chop twice too! My hair was similar length and I only straightened it 2x and that was it!!! Some of us with curlier patterns cannot take direct heat AT All... not 1x not at all. It’ll be back in 6 months like you never cut it. Curlsll be back poppin
That's what happened to my hair. I had a lot of breakage in the middle of my hair. It was so damaged from me wearing drawstring ponytails. I had to cut it off.
Fried dyed laid to the side! Lol I been there... I big chopped the second time after 8 years. Also made the decision to never straighten again bc one silk press can 1. Alter your virgin hair or 2. Ruin your hair. I finally agree being natural means leaving it the way it is naturally. Love your hair short though!
