It took me 13 days to comb out my traditional locs, lol. I combed them out back in March 2023. I wanted to switch to Sisterlocks for smaller locs. Started my SL April 2023 best decision ❤❤❤
im doing the same thing! i originally wanted microlocs or sisterlocks instead of traditional but couldnt at the time. almost 4 years in and about to comb them out for microlocs 🥳🥳
I actually started my locs when you started yours. I ended up combing that set out at around 9 months and big chopping. Then I started another set and ended up combing that set out back in May of this year. With both of my sets I learned a ton of patience and found a new love for myself but I now know that locs aren't for me. I don't regret either journey though because I've become so much better because of them. I look forward to seeing your new journey with your loose hair ❤️
When you got locks in the first place I was stunned because you like to change your hair up so much so. Your hair looks good. Thick and healthy. With so much new growth.
Im 3.5 years loc'd and although I have no desire to comb mine out I always watch these videos and check on how things go. I commend y'all because babyyy my loose hair was a pain in the 🍑 and I want no parts of it 😂😂
Right?! After they take them out, I just see how much of a job the loose natural life will be again. Locs really changed my life. (I am only 8 months though haha)
I watch these videos for hope that it’s possible if I ever decide to lol like “oh okay that wasn’t that bad.. I could comb out like one per day.. and maybe keep alil length” good to know 😂💯👍🏽
Who wanna bet she’ll be back in the loc game?!? All the loc comb out videos I watch I see at least 50% of the girls get tired of loose natural and back to locs lol be itching for that natural curly hair but realize it’s a routine you’re not used to anymore!! 😂 I’m taking side bets yall!!!!
That is a procedure!! , I started my locs 02/03/2020 so 40 months today looking foward to 4 years and getting to bra strap length. Good luck on your new hair journey!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Today is actually my two year locversary and I can not tell you how much you’ve helped me through my journey. You’ve been *such* an inspiring and authentic possibility model to follow. I’ve greatly appreciated your transparency and attention to detail! I never thought about getting locs before and truly pursued getting them for convenience. Many times, second guessing my decision and often times working through tough moments of adjustment to the new look (up until April of this year when I got color lol). It wasn’t until I found your page that I really I felt confident in being able to still be creative and a baddie, while navigating the nuances of this very unique hair journey. And you continue to do so with this video! I started my loc journey with a definitive end in mind. I’m so happy to be able to have this to refer to when that time comes. Shoutout to you! And wishing you many dynamic journeys, love. 😊🫶🏾 SBS Gang locked in, ain’t no switching up! 🙌🏾
Congrats on 2 years!! ♥️ My loc journey was completely out of my comfort zone and new territory for me, but Im truly appreciative how others were able to learn and draw inspiration from my process. Wishing you nothing but the best along your journey! ♥️
I started my loc journey Oct ‘22. I looked at your videos everyday. You inspired me, helped maintain them and I love them. I hate to see you take them out but I might feel the same way in a couple years. Your hair is so healthy and can’t wait to see the end result and continue to make videos. Thank you
Looking forward to what you do next. I combed out my first set 6 months in and I only did that because I really hated my base. It took a week to take out and I can’t see myself taking this 2nd set out. I’ve had 25 plus years as a 4c loose natural and I wish I would have loced it up a decade ago.
For months now I have been struggling with how my locs make me look. I am in my 2nd year loc’d. I love my locs just didn’t like the flat look on the crown of my head. I have been whining about it for a good minute now, I want a fuller look. Today I decided to stop talking/whining and take action! I’ve been contemplating cutting it all off and starting over. As I was watching this video I combed out one loc. yaaaay!! I wish I thought about this sooner!! I’m like that too I have done EVERYTHING to my hair. I’m not afraid to embrace change. 😁 Thanks for the inspiration to go for it. You look amazing with or without locs and your skin is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 all the best on your new journey.
I combed out my 1st set back in March; took like 2 weeks. On my second set of thicker locs. Its an emotional and trying process.. loved watching this.😊
I’m trying to comb mine out now it take a hr per loc and I’m considering leaving them bc I don’t wanna do it anymore lmaooo but I also want them out. This is inspo ❤ had to watch this video twice
Cut them half way or more than half that's what I did because I plan on wearing it shirt anyway surprisingly I still have alot of length .......took me 12 hours, 44 locs
Your hair is SUPER healthy & thick. I always intended to start a lock journey but haven’t as of yet. But yeah it’s looks beautiful I’m stickin around 😘❤️
I combed my bra strap locs out after 5 years due to a horrible issue that I know is Psoriasis. It was very tedious and took about 7 weeks. You are so right that the comb out process is not for the weak. It’s been a year now with my loose natural hair. Enjoy!
Every time I think about combing my locks, I think about all the maintenance of taking care of my regular hair. I’ve been watching hours and hours of comb out videos and still can’t do it. I am dreading all the time that is going to take to calm them out after all the years I put into locking my hair.
I’m 2 yrs loc, 9/15 and I totally missed my locanniversary. That’s how easy my locs are. I don’t want this journey to end. I’ve rewinded this video about 5x at the part started 15:00. I am cracking up.. “Girl, the process is the process” 😂! Then you just went down a whole rant.. 😂😂😂
I combed my locs out at 3 years too and I cried. Now Im four months back in lol because I was over my loose natural after 5 months lol Like nope take me back Im enjoying my new journey though this new set of locs are soo much healthier than the original ones I had.
Just curious as to what things you would do differently the 2nd time around bc I too am loc'd with no plans as of now to comb out but i do know at some point I probably will but then eventually start another micro loc set
@@YashemaEHaley because this 2nd round my hair was so much more healthy. I’m making it my mission to make sure I keep a great regimen and just embrace my choice in being loc’d. I enjoyed being loc’d my first round, but like I said I started missing my loose natural again, but I quickly began missing my low maintenance loc life and the styles. So my goal this time is just to go as long as I possibly can in this journey.
I’ve been locd 4 yrs sometimes I have thoughts of combing them out but if I ever decide to let them go I’ll prolly just let it grow out as much as I can then cut it 😂😂😂 cause man I can’t imagine taking days
Looking good Sharmel. Looking forward to more hair vdo's. Wondering if you plan to ever go back to the relaxed look? I know only time will tell since you're okay with change. I will be here regardless. i will be 4 years loc'd in November. I am tempted but we will see. 😊
I have zero desire to go back to relaxed hair lol, but I am excited to try new styles with my loose natural hair since I rarely wore it in the past. lol
Congratulations to you 🎉!! I just combed out my third set of locs a few days shy of my first locversary about a month ago. It is definitely a labor of determination and love 😂. I said I wasn’t combing out another set of locs but most of my hair was almost down to my boobs so I refused to cut it lol. I had an undercut and a shaved side prior to combing out the 2nd set and rolling into the 3rd set, so my hair length is funky and I’m having to style my hair so I can blend it all together. I can’t wait to see what you’re going to do with your loose natural hair now 🩷.
I'm not combing my locks out. It has been four years for me, and I'm not putting wigs, lace fronts, pressing combs, perms, or anything that isn't natural in my hair again.
holy shit we started around the same time, sep 2020 and i have about 50 something… thinking of combing them out and growing my hair purely as loose natural for a while cause im just so curiousss would you say your hair grew more in spite of the breakage compared to before locs?
