Ah, the Forest Fae was one I truly did not need, I'm not a far person at all. BUT, I am so transported by these sweet little beings. I am in love with each of their precious faces. The messages are gentle, and yes a little vague sometimes, but if you need to get your head out of the mundane world to somewhere a bit more magical this is a nice way to do so. I also think they would be fun writing prompts. My imagination is jumpstarted looking at these creative drawings.

Forest Fae has been on my Amazon wishlist for awhile, I talked myself out of buying it since I have brian froud's Fairies oracle and don't use that one much.

I think I’d use the Modern Witch more if it wasn’t so thick and glossy. I have smaller hands so I often split the deck in half and riffle shuffle smaller chunks and the put them back together. That works pretty well for me although not as satisfying as shuffling a full deck. I do also wish there was more age representation, especially in the Kings and Queens. I love the coloring of the Radiant Wise Spirit, but it’s another thick and glossy deck that is hard to handle and the gloss make the backs look really jarring to me. I bought the mini version and the card stock is completely different - not matte exactly, but thinner and not super shiny. It does have borders, but is so much nicer to handle! If only the full size was the same… Thank for sharing videos like these - it’s great to hear about your thought processes!

lol. Thanks for mentioning me even if you found the Forest Fae deck unusable. I don't do oracles, so I feel much the same. For me, it just has images that I love even in spite of the fact that the oracle messages just leave me flat. But, then, that's the way I feel about most oracles.

Very enjoyable Lisa. For me too I often take a look at a new deck I bought and don’t know where to fit it in. Often times down the road I see again or see it in conjunction with other decks and it looks so different.

Shadowland Tarot card stock is brutal. Least favorite in my collection. Thank goodness they did not use the same card stock for the Shadowland Lenormand. It's much better.

I love my El Goliath tarot. It is my only animal deck and I use it for my shadow work. When I first got it and flipped through each card it just had such a strong energy that pulled me in. It gives me such great readings and blunt advice.

I've had a great connection to the shadowland tarot, I'm sad that the cardstock didn't work for you, I was really hoping to see you use it on your channel. I wasn't into overhand shuffling until confronted by this deck, but it feels special that I have to shuffle that way to use this one. I got the shimmering veil after seeing your say yes to the deck video and am really enjoying that deck as well. I got Cila's two Devas decks also (combined shipping yay) and am using those instead of buying soul cards 1 & 2.

Adored this video! 💖 It can be hard to be sure about some decks, even seeing walkthroughs beforehand. Sometimes you just have to give a deck a chance, even if it doesn't ultimately work out. I think that's ok, especially when we really try to be intentional about what decks we're purchasing. I've got one on the way right now in that situation. I think it's gonna work for me, but even with seeing a walkthrough I couldn't be sure. So I decided to give it a try. We'll see how it goes once it gets to me. And yay Sacred Creators! 🤣 I was one who commented that you should give it a try when you anti-hauled it. I'm so glad it did ultimately work out for you. It's a wonderful deck. 😊

I love the Forest Fae. It’s my only Fae deck and it pairs so well with all my woodsy/autumnal decks. I got it in the late summer/early autumn last year, IIRC, and it has never been shelved. I’m looking forward to seeing how it feels in the spring and summer. I’ve found out that I can’t use my Roots & Wings mini deck in the summer. The heat and humidity is not at all kind to the card stock. No idea why that deck in particular, but I ended up putting it up and using a different deck because I started worrying that if I kept using it, I was going to damage it.

I had that same issue with The Modern Witch Tarot. Very first deck whose cardstock is TOO thick for me! That is a really great question. I've never really wanted an out-of-print deck (other than the Twin Peaks deck, but $700 is far and away too much for me to even consider it). I recently purchased my first mini-deck of one I already own; The Wild Unknown. I wanted to be able to take it with me in a less obtrusive form.

Archetypes deck by Kim Kranz is profound. I just started working with it. It’s stewed in my bookshelf for over two years but it’s really really good and it’s versatile. Modern witch tarot was my third tarot deck. Now I feel like pulling it out.

@@tarottarantulas Yes! The lenormand is much better in terms of cardstock. It took a lot of shuffling, but worth it. I love the deck and guidebook. I was desperate to make it usable. It's such a shame that it comes so stiff and unusable. Some people have also trimmed off the gilding and have said it helped, though others have said it didn't, so I left it and just committed to daily shuffling.

I've connected so well to the art of the shadowland tarot that I was willing to overlook the cardstock issues. I've been using it consistently for three months, overhand shuffling, the gilding is taking a beating on one side, but it's been great otherwise. It's nice to hear your experience with it!

Enjoyed the video as I do all of yours, but I mainly jumped on here to give you my observations on the alternate Emperor card in the Tarot of Mystical Moments. I just watched your video on your time with that deck, and you expressed a wish to be able to work with that card as the shadow side of the Emperor. But in looking at that card as a female Emperor, you realize that the other females in the deck are all in period clothing, and "she" looks amazingly like the male courtiers during the time of King Charles II of England and Louis XIV of France. I think the female Emperor was deliberately left historically androgenous so that that card could either be used in either way. I hope this helps. All the best, Donna

I think there was a lot of This Might Hurt vs. Modern Witch, I never got either deck. You know I love TWU Archetypes, and I'm still gonna get that pocket TWU eventually! The Goliath deck has been really tempting, but there are a few cards that I just don't like. I'm with you re: Joanna Nelson...I love everything she does, but I am a staunch Monstarot person...I also love CatLand Oracle tho - My copy of Delphi cost me $150. I have loved it SO much. Also, I bought mine off of Wild Moon Woman, just as Elyse was leaving the community..so it has a little extra sparkle to me. Can I just say, I knew Liminal Spirits and Legendary Ladies would not last for you. I was also tempted by both decks. I still don't have the Shimmering Veil...maybe I'll get it in a trade. I didn't think I was going to love Shadowlands...but it kept bugging me, and I got it, and I love it. I always pause with RWS clones...many of them seem wonderful at the time - but ultimately, I've got a few and I'm good. I also look at those little minis and want them...but I don't need them. There's one...that is just words, that I want eventually. I CANNOT wait to get my hands on the Gentle Tarot. It is my last outstanding Kickstarter - so glad I backed it!! Sacred Creators is another one, I just didn't get because I don't need more oracles. This was totally fun.

Oof yes good predicting on Liminal Spirits and Legendary Ladies. I knew better - really I did, but they're so pretty LOL always my downfall. ;) I've heard that the shuffle gets easier with Shadowland once it's well and truly broken in - just didn't have it in me lol. OH YES Gentle Tarot is wonderful!!!

It seems like you were right about the decks you didn't need!, with the exception of Gentle Tarot and Shimmering Veil (and to a slightly lesser extent, the Sacred Creators). (And Gentle was one that looked more impressive in person than it had looked on screen.) I'm curious if you've been tempted by any of Cilla's other decks?

I like the shimmering veil artwork, but the guidebook entries don't always make sense to me. I'm only a few years into using/studying tarot, so I'm not sure if it's just a bit advanced for my understanding.

I use the Sacred Creators oracle to end almost every spread with literally any deck in my little collection. Part of that is because I am less concerned with how decks look together than how well they read for me. I feel like the Sacred Creator is useable for anyone as a creator because we are always co-creators with however we see the Divine and those around us. The deck names you as the Sacred Creator you are whether you see yourself that way or not.💜

Sipping tea while hearing someone’s confessions? Sounds like a perfect evening 😁. Lisa .. you know you can see a beauty in every deck! I agree with you on your reasons but this has turned fast into me assuring myself: I “don’t need this deck” affirmation session. 😂🤭. So far I survived the Modern Witch tarot, the Wild Messengers tarot, The El Goliath tarot, the Whispering spirit tarot (but I still want the Monstarot), And it’s crumbling because I always wanted The Tarot of Delphi & the Majestic Earth .. the later much more to be honest .. and the roots and wings oracle 😫.. yup the crumbling is real .. I am still waiting for the reprint which I reached out to the creator and they confirmed .. hopefully during this year. We are back on track with the Liminal Spirits, the Legendary ladies goddess oracle .. phew. That was a weak moment! I just said no to the Shimmering veil; I had an experience trying to buy it that led me to take it out of my wishlist for now .. I am trying to listen to the universe messages more carefully instead of trusting my intuitive voice. When universe says no it’s a no . And I am glad to say .. nothing else you showed after called for me .. even the love story oracle .. which is gorgeous! I would totally pin all these cards in my Pinterest! They are gorgeous 😁. I kinda want the Forest Fae but I don’t need it because I have decks covering that energy for me .. I am specific to Paulina Cassidy’s art when it comes to fae energy .. so I won’t reach to another unless it’s a different medium. And .. 😫 well I have the Gentle tarot in my wishlist.. it was hard not to get it but I truly worry about the mixture of animal and human in the cards. I always find myself want no animals in it. I love all the humans in this deck though which is a torture .. 🥺. Ohhh we are ending strong! Yes! The Anne Chris creator deck is amazing. I actually went insane with money back in 2019. I don’t even know because I was blocking a recent trauma trying to survive. Everything I bought that year turned to be either so good or questionable! I need to journal about that whole year or what I deal with after since it’s a fog. So far .. I am happy with myself going through this 😂. I think it’s truly harder for you Lisa to anti haul/get a decj because the influences coming your way are stronger either companies reaching out, viewers suggesting something else, or a friend sharing it with you .. you kinda have more reasons to cave in imo 😁.

I love the Modern Witch. It's my main deck that I use all the time besides the decks I use for a month or couple of weeks. Do I like the cardstock... not so much. But I don't hate it. And I can riffle shuffle it - but I can't bridge it. But that's fine. I gets easier over time, the deck has a bit of a bow now,, which is fine. But maybe it just got easier, cause I got better at it, idk. It's kinda funny to me, that you can not riffle shuffle it, since your hands are bigger (at least from what I see in your videos when you handle different decks). I would have thought you can do it 😅 And Shadowland.... I trimmed the guilding of. Trimmed, not filed. And now it shuffles like a dream. Yes, it has a bow, but I don't mind that. The cardstock is my favorite matt mass market cardstock by now. I love it. But just after trimming the guilding of, cause that kind of cheap shiny guilding hurts (besides the fact, that the gold doesn't fit the deck/artwork at all...). I love the Shadowland and I really like the cardstock now 😅

Interesting that the guilding was the issue 🤔. I never know what people meant my "sharp" guilding until I got that deck. Shadowland Lenormand has much better card stock.

@@tarottarantulas Cheap guilding makes cards stiff. It also often is "thicker" as the cards themself, so it's not possible to actually shuffle, since the cards clump and stick to each other. Plus the fact, that it hurts the hands, depending on how you shuffle.

Hi!!! How are you? I’m Watching you talk about The Shimmering Veil now…I wish there was a way for someone that can’t or doesn’t subscribe to The Unicorn tribe or other’s like it, to maybe purchase single episodes. I absolutely cannot get a subscription type anything for anything lol! I am hanging on to our Entertainment like Netflix & Hulu by a thread lol! I see so many times I missed out not being member…that’s sad.😒Sucks butt.
