I cannot explain how much I really like the idea that the boy on the moon in every intro is God watching over his creations . From seeing pandas do kung fu, a boy and his dragon connecting despite being from two different worlds, and other beings from the stars to fight epic battles. The boy creates the Guardians to protect, to watch over life whenever the world needs one.
@@lucyandecember2843 Honestly, that's the least I expect them to do. Those guys should constantly be tearing the fabrics of reality whenever they get the chance.
I’m excited for the Sony Pictures timeline so Officer Earl and Officer Davis can exist in the same universe where vampires and emojis are also just chilling
I just have to say, about Vegard’s critique of the Mona Lisa scene, Da Vinci was PAINTING the Mona Lisa. Not taking a picture of her. The colours in the painting don’t have to be the same as the subject.
as an artist, i can confirm, that sometimes the model comes to the session wearing different clothes than the ones they wore when you started painting....and when you've already started painting the previous outfit, you can't just change it to the new one so you make shit up and hope it works out
Da Vinci also spend over a dozen years on the project and we don’t even know how accurate the painting was to the actual Lisa. Then again it’s fucking Da Vinci and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a photographic memory and remembered her from the very first day .
I think you should connect megamind to rise of the guardians through the quote “there is no Easter bunny, there is no tooth fairy and there is no queen of England” from Hal once he turned Titan and had Roxanne tied up on the roof. This means that the characters in metro city have heard of the guardians. In rise of the guardians they protect the children and it’s the kids who believe and as you grow up they stop, and new kids replace them. the whole plot of rise of the guardians was getting the kids to believe! Who’s to say Hal didn’t used to believe in the guardians as a kid because he knows about them, like how shrek and the fairytale characters are legends, because the guardians are that old I believe the same rule can apply.
If you use the alternate universe theory, technically every movie, book, tv show, franchise, story, could all exist in different universes, which could also include a universe where every universe is just media made for are entertainment.
@@I.M.6483not really. He could quit RU-vid whenever he feels like it, not tell us anything, and find another job. I’m 99.999% sure he won’t do that but yeah!
I cannot believe that the generic-looking sheep connecting Madagascar and HTTYD somehow is supposed to make more sense than a cow with the *exact same pattern* appearing in both Bee Movie and Monsters vs. Aliens
Vegard is literally the best part of this channel, he has me dying laughing so much lol Also “humpty dumpty’s a bit like Moses” The best quote from seamus ever
I would also like to point out that the villain from monsters versus aliens destroyed his planet, and Megamind fled his planet after it was destroyed. This is really good proof that they're the same planet.
Dreamworks has the perfect opportunity to make a Mr Peabody and Sherman sequel where they time travel to a bunch of the different movies trying to save the world or something
The theoriser working this to figure out how powerful of a lovecraftian god mort is is probably the one with the biggest impact since it has had an impact in the versus debate community
if only Seamus had watched the tales of arcadia series fully, had he not only got so many more connections but also truly realized the impact of this to the theory. I would love to watch a theory with the tv shows included!
The man in the moon also is canonically fishing in Sharktale as he is shown to be doing right at the beginning of the movie where he has a fishing rod with a worm on it which he throws in the water and then the movie starts with that worm being scared in the ocean.
One way to connect Rise of the Titans and Megamind is that during the first part of the movie, the place that the opening scene(s) take place in is Metro City (the main setting of Megamind)!
On the Croods, I'd say we can narrow it down to sometime between 100.000 years ago and 30.000 years ago. This is because The Croods are implied to be neanderthals while Guy is meant to be an anatomically modern human, meaning the movie took place in the span of time after anatomically modern humans had expanded out of Africa and began inhabiting areas also inhabited by neanderthals, but before neanderthals themselves went extinct
Fun fact! Trollhunters CANNONICALLY takes place in the same universe as Megamind (at the beginning of the movie, you can see the fight takes place in Metrocity, Metroman and Megamind's home)
Seamus saying the kid on the moon is god implies that the Penguins of Madagascar are stronger than god, since they take him out in one of the logo intros.
True that's proof that it is a normal human travel back in time AKA Sherman to make them and us as fools to think he's God figure so that means he's no God figure like it just magic from Shrek type.
@@SeamusGorman4 back in march?! wow! the effort and time ahhh you can really tell that you take time w your videos through the quality and pure enjoyment! thank you seamus for your amazing videos :)
As a Tales of Arcadia fan, I can say that Merlin wasn't actually introduced in Wizards, he was in season 3 of Trollhunters. He made the amulet. Also, the aliens didn't come to help fight the trolls, they crash landed after their planet was taken over by an evil alien. Also, 3Below and Trollhunters actually take place at the same time, though 3Below takes place later, as the main characters from 3Below appear as side characters in later episodes of Trollhunters, though you don't know they're aliens at that point, and the main new character of Wizards also appeared in Trollhunters but as an even more minor character. Also, one of the episodes of 3Below takes place during the finale of Trollhunters. Wizards takes place after both 3Below and Trollhunters but it actually takes place before that because they time travel to the distant past and get stuck there.
I’m excited for this one because I feel Dreamworks don’t put Easter eggs to their other films as much as Disney or Pixar does so I’m curious on how you’ll try to connect all of the films
@@SeamusGorman4 Yeah you honestly did a great job considering how little Easter eggs their are between Dreamworks films. Also your next universe should be Sony Pictures Animation. I want to see how Spider-Man, Angry Birds, Peter Rabbit, The Smurfs, The Emoji Movie, and Baby Jesus connect in the same universe.
You could have connected Megamind to Zeus of the Guardians because Hal says “There is no tooth fairy there is no Easter bunny and there is no queen of England” proving that when Hal grew up he stopped believing in the former two
The Dreamworks Logo boy also throws a worm on his line that Lenny from Shark Tale interacts with, proving how the logo boy has some sort of interaction with the stories
In Trolls, in the beginning, the trolls replaced themselves with the trolls toys that appear in other movies. The baby Gristle eats one and spits it out.
Wait, but if The Boy on The Moon in the Dreamworks logo at the beginning of each movie is actually a canon part of each movie, then that means that The Penguins of Madagascar attacked God???? And Barry stung God??? And God was abducted by aliens?????
Quick note: Not sure if anyone else said this, but there are more connections to the Dragons franchise in Tales of Arcadia. 1. Gobber mentions that trolls exist and steal socks in HTTYD, which is confirmed in Trollhunters. 2. The board game Maces and Talons from the Dragons: Race to the Edge series appears in the main character’s basement in Trollhunters. 3. There is a screensaver of Toothless in the first episode of Trollhunters on a computer. 4. The place the trolls live looks a lot like the Hidden World, where the dragons end up.
You definitely need to watch the rest of All Hail King Julien. The show is a pretty good prequel series to Madagascar, but it’s also a great standalone series even if you haven’t seen the movies.
just a few problems with the troll hunter connections. firstly Camelot can not be in North America because the trolls stowed away on the Mayflower after the battle of Kilahead. secondly, we see visions of Arthur's childhood in Camelot during wizards
But what if it is cause the original name was Far Far Away, Ik shrek gets there by carriage but I think it was a different way to go, just a theory tho
There are two instances of hyper-intelligent animals in the Bible I can think of, firstly, Balem's donkey talked at one point (maybe Dinkey's ancestor), and the Serpent which... Wait, is Serpent Curse a DreamWorks movie? Nah, they'd never pick up my screenplay, but that'd work too good actually.
@@captainvader921 I'm pretty sure it said he opened the mouth of the donkey or something, which I interpreted as that he gave the donkey the ability to talk, but its words were its own.
The amount of time and effort put into these videos is really impressive. I’ve been hoping we would get this video since I’m a big fan of (most) Dreamworks movies
11:31 That is so clever! That makes so much sense for Mr. Peabody and Sherman to have left their mark in a cave in The Croods because they are time travellers! I literally forgot about Mr. Peabody and Sherman and thought no other movie would connect to The Croods.
I have personally watched Trollhunters, 3 Below, and Wizards and seeing your confusion was hilarious. It’s about how I expected someone to think about the shows who didn’t watch any of them.
Kipo, a Netflix show made by Dreamworks could technically connect to this theory, as there is a confirmed Animal Human war, maybe after Kipo's gone, a war strats up again for some reason. Also I actually gasped when Trollhunters was mentioned, I love that show and the movie
as soon I as I heard French people I started bugging out because I am a big fan of the theorizers mort theory I’m glad you bring up that part of it I’m only a couple minutes but that hyped me up
I checked the Christmas Caper short, and unless it's that super grainy black and white photo on the end table when they're walking out of the apartment, there is no "picture of Ginger in Nana's room" as the Trivia tab puts it. There is an Alex plush named Alex, though.
Id also like to say that the movies that weren't counted still works into the theory in an actually convincing way. So while youd need some sort of cameo or easter egg to properly connect them you still had them in the the theory
I do like the idea that canonically in DreamWorks animals and humans learn to live in harmony by The Bad Guys, but I'd still like to see Kung Fu Panda as taking place in the past of some alternate Universe. Shrek, I have absolutely no conviction that would ever take place in North America.
Okay, I get it now, the Trolls actually started out in Europe according to the show, they just transported to North America hidden on the boats like the ones in Road to El Dorado.
Starting to wonder how Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken could fit into that timeline. Maybe it would have something to do with the magic and maybe even the fish from Shark Tale.
OR....another possible thory is that magic remains hidden...my main example is actually the upcoming movie "Ruby Gilman:Teenage Kraken" in this movie it seems like bother Krakens and Mermaids seemingly blend in with human soscity, unknowst to the humans, kinda like Trollhunter in a way... this could mean that most of the fantasy and fairly tale creatures are just hidden, and maybe this could also explain why the mermaids are evil in the movie, they are tired of being opressed.
The Penguins of Madagascar having a connection to Dragons and time travel goes beyond the sheep. Considering the multiverse is canon, one could use the Jumpstart Spinoff MMOs as an excuse for one of the timelines. The Multiverse also explains why Marlene is weirdly unaddressed in the Penguins Movie, the main Madagascar films, and companion games, but present in the Nicktoon (only the Nicktoon) and its companion games. There's at least two main Madagascar universes, if not three as they can talk to humans in the spinoff MMO.
Fun fact in the first episodes of Troll Hunters it shows the Main character "Jim Lake Jr" is watching How To Train Your Dragon (most likely THE first episode) and they also have tiny trolls/elves?? that sorta look like the ones from the Trolls movie
I'm just happy Rise of the Guardians got included! Been my fav ever since it came out and a lot of people don't include or brush over it when talking about Dreamworks movies
@@SeamusGorman4 Omg, Seamus you and Vegard are so entertaining. Thank you for making this long form content I can't even imagine how much research you do for us 🙂
@@SeamusGorman4 it absolutely does! You and Vegard have a bond that is so captivating to watch! I absolutely love seeing the dynamic between you two in these videos.
i’d say it never left because i feel like i’ve pretty much been working on this ever since i finished the disney one but apparently it’s almost been 5 months now…..see you again in november!
I cant believe Seamus actually talked about Trollhunters. Absolutely hecking adore that frenchise and I cant believe its canon in the timeline. LETS GOOO
I really like this theory however, I noticed a few flaws in the design. For one, it is very clearly stated in "Wizards"(the series before the Trollhunters movie) that the King Arthur vs. magic story takes place in England as the characters do travel to Arcadia (which is in America) in the past and even comment on how they moved halfway around the world in a matter of minutes. This wouldn't line up with the rest of your theory as it would then mean that the Shrek movies take place in England and western Europe ( it's also implied that Puss in Boots takes place in Spain) instead of Medieval America like you proposed. It also doesn't help that "Shrek King Arthur" and "Tales of Arcadia Arthur" have different backstories. Shrek King Arthur is said to be Fiona's cousin and is seen to be very chill with magic whereas Tales of Arcadia Arthur doesn't have a cousin mentioned AND his girlfriend tragically died when they were young, thus his hatred toward magic. Both of these traits aren't mentioned or brought up in either franchise to connect them. This would also then throw a wrench in the How to Train Your Dragon theory too as the third movie ends with all the dragons moving to the Hidden World to hide from humans; and the humans, in turn, eventually forget that dragons even existed as the years go by. This wouldn't make sense as we know that dragons do exist in other parts of the world (less than half a continent away anyway) and live in harmony with humans. We see this in the form of Dragon from Shrek and Archie from the Tales of Arcadia series. And since I just pointed out that both those stories take place in England, humans do know of dragons' existence and they would be very influential to their history and civilization. If anything, only Scandinavia would have lost their dragons but since we see no dragons present in the modern day Dreamworks movies, that presents a problem. Another thing I'd like to point out is that the Bergens look more like Ogres than trolls and since Shrek 4 established that Ogres can exist in different corners of the world, I have no trouble believing that the Bergens are just another race of Ogres from another island that eat the small trolls. Humans could have visited that island at some point and made merchandise off the trolls (which we see in the other Dreamworks movies). And as for the naming thing, they could end up calling the small trolls "trolls" due to a language difference or something. This would mean that the "Trolls" movies would either be canon or exist as movies in-universe with other Dreamworks films like Spirit. It would also make sense for the Bergens to be another race of Ogres as the large Trolls can't survive in sunlight (which we see the Bergens living comfortably in). So there you go, I've removed two franchises off the list and added a new one instead. Of course, please don't take this as me raking on you. I love your videos and I really love the effort and research that went into this one. Keep it up and I can't wait to see what other universe you try to connect. Maybe Sony or Illumination possibly...?
Gholy shit I thought the video was going to end at 7:30 and then he said ‘but that is just the beginning’ and I was like ‘oh okay extra details’ THEN I SAW THE 1 HOUR VIDEO LENGTH. I’m in for a ride 🤣
Spoilers for How to Train Your Dragon 3 At the end of How to Train Your Dragon 3, the dragons leave to go to a new place. In HTTYD, it is referred to as 'The Edge of the Earth'. But obviously it's not, because the world isn't flat. You could argue it is in the HTTYD universe, but everything still seems to work the same way, it was just their understanding at the time. To explain the easter egg in Home, I think that the 'Edge of the Earth' the dragons were sent to was a portal to another planet/realm, which is what they visited just before Earth, it being close to Earth. Since magic definitely exists, portals aren't that big of a stretch imo. And this is much less of a stretch as your explanation in the video. This also confirms that dragons are all living happily on another planet 1000 years later. Also, SO GLAD you connected Road to El Dorado! I thought that wasn't gonna be possible.
I'd like to imagine that it's not that humans became extinct in the Kung fu panda universe. But that the humans and animals became one. Through some sort of magical transformation sort of way. Or through stuff that the internet often ask for sauce of.
It’s made quite clear that the entire shrek franchise is set after colonization, given that puss in boots is set in Mexico, and he has to sail to get to the kingdom of far far away. Also those Arthurs are clearly different people, as the behavior of del toro’s Arthur is incompatible with the events of shrek.
Idk about Shrek being in Medieval/pre-colonial America, donkeys aren't a native species there, the fairytales are mostly European, the people are white, and the castles are more castle-y than the pyramids in America
Could be Mr Peabody and Sherman they can be the one to create myths since they are good people and doesn't want anything that comes true decided to keep it a secret and make the world and future think they are fairy tales mythical legends no evidence they exist as a way to keep it a secret for the universe
By the way, in Troll's in the beginning while they are searching for poppy, they replace her for one of those little dolls, which means that boss baby and trolls are connected since they both have those little dolls.
Okay so waiting for Shrek 5 to have a floating castle in it. Edit: how can there be a chicken run 2? Whereelse is there to run? Never noticed the ant in Shrek before. Terrifying. 20 years, never knew.
great video seamus! i’ve been watching for a long time and you’ve grown so much as a person and a channel, thank you for letting us be happy for hours.
The hippo (Gloria??) from Madagascar shows up as an easter egg in How To Train Your Dragon in the claws of a dragon! Maybe the sheep and the hippo got switched around in a time travel swap? 🤔 Also, Hiccup (the protagonist of Dragons) is like the biggest advocate for dragon rights, he would be the guy to make the Spirit movie in the modern age heh. Although, they do use the sheep as balls to score goals in dragon racing, so maybe the sheep need to rise up first in the Dragons universe...
