Some very creative ideas. Window covers will hide your interior, but solar panels on the roof give away the fact that you're probably living in the car. Stay safe.
@@TrillMurray I'm gonna say the car moving around from him moving around and the smell of cooking food emitting from the car are the things that really give it away! 🤣
I’d say living in a Camero is very stealth. Who would suspect a muscle car of being someone’s home? It’s an inventive and functional conversion. Nice work.
@@judithryle2113 He’s probably in his twenties and can do retarded things like that for now. But he’ll likely pay later in life for cramping himself into a Camaro for hours and hours for an extended period of time.
@@hogane2290 I am hating for pointing out the obvious -- that living in a Camero is going to cause posture and likely back issues down the road? Hip hop culture has made you plain stupid!
Your car conversion is brilliant. Just one question... About the bed. Could you have made a bigger gap in the wood panel into the trunk or hinged part of it to lift up at night so one could sleep on one's side instead of only lying flat?
The bed would be a bit claustrophobic for me personally but the rest is very creative & I love the whole idea of a car home - stealth living and travel wherever & whenever. I think I’d do the SUV. My favorite vehicle was my 8 passenger (two full benches) 2008 Ford Expedition EL. That would’ve been easy to convert. I’m short enough that I could sleep across the middle seat. I’d fold the back seat flat and toss in sleeping bags for camping with the kids; back then they were little enough to fit comfortably.
Thank you, Kimberly for dropping a comment. The 2008 Ford Expedition EL would be a great choice, it has 130 cubic feet, a bit smaller than the suburban but still larger than MOST SUV's out there! And, being able to fit horizontally is a cool little perk haha
@@mariamaria2751 yeah, this is not good for health! You cannot live like this! Its not good for your sleep, for your back, for your articulations and more.. its better to put/ invest some money in at least a mini studio or smt you can standing tall in, than living like this. bc this will cost you a lot more in the long term! its gonna take its toll on your body and mind!
I've been homeless if you don't have no were to go and u have experience something like this u wouldn't talk like this, trust me ....right now I stay by an friend but u can say I'm still homeless this is a great tip how to live and survive one of the best info videos believe me..people who have been homeless understand💯💯frfr
Love it. This car build is so amazing and unique. I’ve been wanting to reconfigure my sleeping situation in my Honda ( sedan ). Vanlife is awesome, but also expensive to purchase . Your set up is so different. I’m gonna take some of your ideas and implement in a new build for my car.
I love that you love it :) Thank you and I'm glad this was useful! Sedans are a little tricky to convert since bed platforms have to consider the awkward shape of the interior but ANYTHING is possible!
I completely agree with the high increasing rent cost these days. This is why I am here visiting your channel for ideas. It’s going to be a reality soon 😅.
Thank you, user! I lived in this car for 6 months in a previous conversion 2 years ago. It wasn't as pretty or as functional back then, but I learned how to improve it!
I have been living in my 14' ford focus since September last year, and I decided to stay a nomad for the same reasons. It's amazing and wonderful to see others do this so well! I still have my struggles. Staying cool in the summer while sleeping in the daytime is my challenge right now. To see you in your camero, cooking and using a sink, I am in awe!
You may have come onto something. I strongly believe people would purchase a car like this. I'm super impressed. Clean & cozy .....I can't wait to watch your other videos. Stay safe..♥️
@@solarcampercar I think your Amazing so cool, I live in a Mansion I only mostly stay in the East Wing currently only living with a whippet rescure I baby sit. Good Luck you rock so smart.
Very clean, aesthetically pleasing, and functional space. I could see myself adding a flip up panel above the leg/bed area as I am a side sleeper. Great work!!
Agreed! I'm a side sleeper as well, not being able to turn onto my side would be very uncomfortable. I'd feel claustrophobic laying on my back the entire night. All in all, this is a great idea and very unique. Good job!
A 2" matress will destroy side sleepers. I have fought this battle and lost many times, most recently this week. It hurts to side or front sleep on a thin mattress. Back sleeping is best on all surfaces, especially hard surfaces
Side sleeper here. I'd have to modify the sleeping port to accommodate that. Interesting set up. Does work have an employee lounge where you can cook and eat? My work does w large refridge. I was just thinking if worst came to worst and I had to do this I could utilize the fridgerator, microwave and toaster oven. Store some food in the freezer no one else uses it and I'm there daily.
Impressive and creative. I would not have imagined converting a Camaro but you did a great job. Solar panels must be such a game changer. I will look again as fixed panels seemed too large for my car before, for a good brand. Hope you keep posting as your time allows.
Thank you very much for your thoughts on this. Someone had mentioned if drilled the panels onto the car lowers the car's value, but I think if the car is sold as a camper, the value goes up, vs patching the holes by a body shop - just thought i'd share that! I will try to post more content
@solarcampercar Being in Jersey, aren't you afraid that someone will steal the Solar Panels or it gives off that you're living in the car? How do you use the Sun when it's Winter and the snowstorms from hell that has been happening lately? What then when covered with snow? Thanks buddy. Love the car and amazing that you doing this in a newer Camero.
Sooo so creative. God bless your great attitude and willpower to do these things to better yourself. I am going to keep watching your journey cause it’s so inspiring. God bless you young man.
This is actually great timing and inspiration, as I myself have been considering this exact same concept with the same generation Camaro I have. I work 12 to 16 hours a night, 6 to 7 nights a week, and commute as much as 750 miles a week. That is not only time consuming, requiring 2 to 3 hours of driving out of my sleep time, it can be costly with a 6.2L V8 performance engine using premium 91 octane fuel, costing between $100 - $150 a week in fuel. I am able to mitigate the time and cost from time to time sleeping at or near work, but that can sometimes be tricky to accomplish. I have considered this as a solution, Though I would have to execute it differently with my 5th Gen Camaro SS soft top. But you have demonstrated that it can in fact work, Thank You. Please add a link for the seat covers, mine are starting to show wear and tear and I would like to protect them. Would love to meet you and see this in person if you are ever in the Nashville area.
OK you have officially are the new subscriber. I already love the suburban vehicle, but I’ve never seen anything like this. Very creative. Keep making videos we’re loving the stuff.
Thank I got my questions answers that very smart of you. Fresh water to wash your hands and clean your dishes. Glad I went back to see how you hooked up your space. Thanks for sharing
You are so smart and creative. Idea. The panel can be cut just enough to hold the seat. For storage you can add a net to the ceiling and store the blanket or fold behind the seat, this way you have more room to sleep. The kitchen counter can be lower, you don't keep too many items in the first drawer or make that drawer smaller and it's still lower. Use a black leather like cover so people won't be bothering you with questions. It is a neat idea, you are so creative.
@@solarcampercar You're welcome, I have two sons your age and I am glad you guy's are so creative to save. By the way I don't know how this info would help, but if it does, great. My sister is renting a kitchen to cook and sell salsas. I bet you can also rent a kitchen when you need it. At that place they charge $45 a month for food storage, $12 and hour to cook with min of 4 times a month. Drop in and cook $20 per hour. So far I see about 5 kitchens in my area. There may be more by your work or less expensive. Maybe once you are use to it you can bring your own small table to save and just prep your food without using the kitchen part and just pay for food storage.
I'm amazed by your ingenuity. You're going to be one of the greatest nurses ever , An angel on earth . You exude Talent and Confidence. Blessings to you always.
Your setup is much nicer than mine, but I have a hatchback I've mounted solar to a jackery unit inside, I also have a water tap and bed, though I opt for a gas stove. I recommend you look into the new flexible solar panels for stealth reasons, my 100w one from topsolar has been working the past year great. Awesome to see other people having fun with this stuff, love your setup, happy travels.
I sleep in my brz 2 weeks a year on my canyon seeking vacations west because hotels mean I'm not in my toy car and that's no fun. Cooler, sleeping bag, Coleman stove, a couple backpacks, water jugs, emergency tools, sleeping reclined in the driver's seat at truck stops and national forests. You've actually brought simultaneous urban stealth and dignified livability to the concept. I am impressed.
Interesting build. Amazed you made it work with you being 6ft. I’m 5’4” and I don’t know if I could live in a car especially a coup.. I got broad ass shoulders lol 🤷🏻♂️ not sure about it being “stealth”, solar on the roof is a dead giveaway. Otherwise props for making it work for you🤙🏼
It is so cool to watch your channel. Actually it is so good to try something new when you are young. You can easily adapt to living in a car (not a RV). Worthy to save your money by adopting this living style. Wishing you all the best❤❤
This is a very cool setup. But I just can't see myself sleeping like that. I would need at least enough room to switch sides without hitting my hip. Now, that is what you call coffin sleeping.
Thanks Squad, the concept was inspired by sleep pods that are available at some international airports! I like to call it, a sleep capsule vs coffin haha
Really really cool! Love the concept. Personally I could forgo the storage above sleep area for turning over and would have had a small extension piece built for behind the seat for sleeping. Other than that AMAZING job and ❤ rhe flexibility
Wow, that's pretty amazing ! Do you think that your previous experience with campers had a big impact in coming up with and executing this ? It looks like you have minimised everything to exactly what you need and have really good solutions for everything like the window covers and the power system and taking out the front seat for your kitchen. It's pretty amazing to see what you have done so effectively with such a small car / space.
Thats how a mad max interceptor would Lok like today! It is supercool man! Before i had a vw t4 van i made trips in my audi 80. Not Built up like like yours. But i totally feel the Spirit of your MICRO Camper!
I used to own a Camaro!!! I had no idea I could have lived in it, I only drove it around. No, but seriously, you are very organized and have a super cool set up energy system to power lots of things. I don't think people would know or suspect you live inside from looking at the solar panels, they dont stick out, I would just assume they are doble sunroof windows. You're doing it great! I'm impressed. Thank you for sharing your videos.
I'll be glad when you get something bigger I wouldn't be able to be in something so small for living driving ya living no but you've done a wonderful job with it it's a great way to save on paying rent though good luck on your next home / vehicle❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great build! The only thing I'm not a fan of is the sleeping. That seems like a tight space to fit in. Is there a way to just knock out the wall where you sleep? Otherwise, great job!
I lived in my Prius for 6 months and sleeping on my and bending my legs became the only way to sleep. I'm just impressed you don't move while you sleep.
Looks like there is some space , maybe 8 inches or so when the drivers seat is forward. you could use a foam wedge pillow to fill that space when you are sleeping. At least your head would not be hanging over the edge. You could tilt the seat appropriately for comfort.
It's a great and unique idea. I liked your video. It felt real and it is real. Keep making such content, I promise I won't miss any of those videos. You will definitely get likes and shares.
Wow! Very clever "I like it" I like that you can cook with ease 👍 I think I would eliminate that little storage for more comfort for sleep. I like your style 👍
Pretty neat concept… I’m a side sleeper so I would have to reconfigure the sleeping situation a little …did u sell ur sprinter and suv or just keep them at a storage or long term parking garage
This is impressive, I thought it would be a lot more expensive! Your build looks great, I really like the different storage spots you made, you have many creative ideas and solutions! 😊👍
I got a sprinter van but honestly a car would be dope! Bc I already know how to fix the majority of stuff on a car but alittle more learning for diesel and just had to get towed off a mountain bc my brakes couldn't handle getting back down
My only concern is my dog, a 80 pound German Shepperd will take some space, I would convert my current Prius in this instance, I think I would have to forgo the wood panel on the ceiling to do it. I think I'll take the general idea of what you did and run with it!
Thank you for the idea to cut pieces for the front windows myself! My car (BMW 116i) also has frameless windows, so the covers on Amazon wouldn't work :D Glad I found your channel
I love that you love it Sheral! Might be worth checking your electrolyte levels? low potassium or high potassium causes muscle cramps according to healthline
What an incredibly creative an awesome idea. Sad that it has to come down to us thinking of ways to survive due to an actual house price being astronomically out of range & beyond ten lifetimes to ever see paying off. There shouldn't be a house out there over $20,000, that way everyone could attempt to afford housing. At least it would be a chance at being obtainable and there wouldn't be very many people on the streets at all anymore. As soon as we get over our greed as human beings, hopefully we will start helping out more and realize those houses aren't worth the million dollars... Especially knowing that you're going to sleep in one of those while people that can't afford it are going to sleep on the hard cement tonight... Have a good one everyone and take care of each other. 🤘
This makes my Ford focus estate seem like a roomy occasional camper! 🥰 But I don't have any convertions done to it. Just pop the bed and boxes needed in the back and off I go
There are so many safety concerns here... What if something happens and you need to get out of bed quickly? You can't. What if you are driving and you need to see out the rear view mirror (which legally must be possible)? What if you get in an accident while driving? You've removed a lot of the safety measures and added in a bunch of projectiles/hard things to hurt you. I get if you have to sleep in your car, and even wanting to make a bed, but this just screams "death trap" no matter how I look at it. I'm fairly certain this car would be considered VERY illegal, even the tint might cause you to be pulled over in certain areas. At least with a van - the front is perfectly whole for driver and potential passenger.
You can buy an acre of land(football field), in portugal for 5000 american. Good soil, trees all over. Think on that. Another 2000 for wood and cabin. Plus a couple solar panels. 300 days of sun(europe) winter never drops bellow 10degrees. Spring wheather all winter.... Can live of a sepf garden, few goats, chickens etc. Some of the hest year round beaches there. Think on that if you have 20k saved or are looking at 20 years more work. 🎉
Grest build! My only question is about your back window. How do you see what's behind you when driving and is it legal to have it obscured with that panel?
I have a 2010 Camaro and one of the biggest complaints is that you can't see out of them anyway ~ which you can actually learn to adapt to, I have no problems. You can also compensate with side mirrors ~ think about work/commercial box type trucks that don't even have a back window. 🙂
Awesome job on this build, the self tapping screws on the roof to hold the solar panels worry me over time with getting loose and would’ve gone with some nuts and bolts but overall very well done otherwise
The back seat was super creative, good job . Don't u hate how slow the driver seat scootch's up 😑. We can't have dark tint on the front windows only a certain amount of inches down . I have seen people cut cardboard and cover it with black material it fits in nice and no light comes through plus it insulates it .Does it get super cold at night??? What state do u live in? New sub btw . So u can basically save up lots of money and travel unless you have car payments. And car ins. Does the $1,500 total build include the solar inverter? You could Doo door dash too haha , smart guy kudos to ya🧡
