One thing to keep in mind when adding two lighting, if anyone is intrested, you will usually have a more domianant one like the sun for example, thats will for most of your shadows. The other light can act as a bounce light and define the features futher in shadow. (Angel Guave got some amazing short for further explanation) Gorgeous and simpable art like always Fung.✨️
9:50 subsurface scattering is so awesome it can add so much to art. Basically skin is somewhat translucent so you’ll be able to see the light going through this skin somewhat as it absorbs the light
i was just about to start studying lighting as well, i was doing an alhaitham drawing, and i got suggested to make the subsurface scattering of the reflections of the emerald in his hand and neck, and also those reflections of his golden jewelry hitting in some spots gotta start practicing water lighting too just like in this video 💀💀💀
In the first lighting what I like to do is erase it slightly or erase it entirely the multiply layer on the iris of the eyes which gives it that glowing effect.
I think the shadow looks weird because you didn’t add a saturated terminator. And you can add filters and blending modes on top and add rim light to it. It’s a very good method
