I have 4 children and my only son, was 3 weeks late. My Doctor was going to induce on Monday, and my son came one day before, on Superbowl Sunday, 1991 (10lbs 15oz, 23 inches).

Congratulations on the safe arrival of the girls! They are beautiful!! Great job mom and dad. I had my twin boys at 28 weeks they were 3.6 lbs and 3.4 lbs. Twin A was too impatient and broke his water. They were in NICU for 1 month. Now they are 31 and are healthy.

I went 43 weeks with both my son and daughter...maybe a a bit closer to 44 weeks with my daughter...and I was induced both times. This was over 50 years ago. No scans and no way of telling anything so they waited until they thought the baby wasn't thriving before inducing. And we weren't told anything about the baby's position. You couldn't have anyone with you..at all. No phones. I didn't even have a monitor for my contractions. And they gave you shots right away to dry up your milk. We were told formula was better for our babies. Needless to say, my first birth wasn't smooth sailing. I was at both of my grandsons' births and it was an amazing experience. I learned more from that than giving birth myself.

42 weeks! I was so done and I only had one. My first snd only. Luckily, when she came (I was induced) I labored for 32 hours, BUT….. I only pushed 3 times and she was out. Amazing feeling, I kept saying, “I grew a person, I grew a whole person” Best day of my life. Wish I could have had another, but God had other plans.

My oldest was delivered via emergency c-section at 43.5 weeks. He was almost 11 pounds 2ft long. And had 2 teeth! At birth!

Congrats on those precious girls! I went to 43 weeks and finally went into labor. They would never let you go that far now. My MIL had come the week before my due are to help out and ended up with us for a month! 😜.

first pregnancy 39 weeks induced. was there at 5:30am baby 8:30.am second 37 weeks natural very fast . got there at 6:30 am baby by 7 am

I was induced with both my girls and there was a break in between. But with my second one, I was in labor when I got to the hospital. I don’t remember them hurting, but I was dilated to 5, So they gave me an epidural bc they thought I might have to have a c-section because of her size. With the help of forceps, we managed to get her out. She was my second forcep delivery. Both were fine, 45 and 43 years old now so they did great!

It is Friday the 13th and I went on FB after a year and lo and behold I saw a picture. Omgoodness so cute. I agree baby A (I think) is the bb that looks like Lyndle. Congratulations to the wonderful Engalbarts' new arrivals. Phew Rachel the swelling can go away for good.

Emergency C section at 37 weeks. Planned C section at 37 weeks. Vaginally delivery of twin girls on the way to hospital at 38 weeks.

Oh,thank goodness!! Someone has remarked on their resemblances!! I don’t have IG. ,so was wondering who they looked like!! Could u tell if the other baby, looked like family?? (Sometimes babies don’t resemble any family member! They look like themselves!). I look like my late dad, and I have 2 sisters, but they don’t look a thing like either of our parents!!

My babies were mostly born 41 1/2-42 weeks . You actually sound like I do when I am in labor. Your voice is the voice of early labor, or at least the way I sounded

I'm quite a bit older than you. They didn't do ultra sounds except for necessity reasons. I had one when I was carrying my son to check and make sure I only had 1 baby. He was a ten month baby. He weighed 10 lbs 9ozs. I was so ready when he was born!

Flash back to 1999....I was 19, baby came on her due date, spontaneously. 6.5 hours from first pain to birth. 2004, baby came on his due date, again spontaneous, 6 hours. 2019, baby 3 weeks early, spontaneous and 12 hours. This year.... My dad died in Feb and my mom followed in April. 3 days later I decided to be induced at 40+2 so I could get home to Utah sooner (we live in TN) and help my mentally handicapped brother deal with the estate. Worst decision ever. My epidural failed and I felt everything. It only took 7 hours but they were the worst 7 hours I've ever been through. But he's here now and is doing great, so I'm happy about that.

When I was pregnant for my son 42 years ago I was a little over 2 weeks overdue, my birthday is august 13 which would have been another 2 weeks away so I joked that on my birthday he is definately getting an eviction notice i was hot no air condition I was as swollen as Rachael and I had enough. My dr said stupid stuff like get in the car hit bumpy roads even told my husband to take me bowling. I talked to my grandma the day before he came and she said oh honey you dont have to wait 2 more weeks you will have him tonight I laughed and said how do you know she said there is going to be a full moon tonight I said ok grandma she said well mark my word you will sure enough at 5:30 the next morning my water broke but I was in labor for over 12 hours and back then you didnt get epidurals.

My third daughter was suppose to be born May 1. I was finally induced on May 31st. they did stress tests and monitored baby every other day.

Awe congratulations! I went one week over due with my daughter and induced 24 hours after starting labor due to stalling at 5 cm.

Rach, I was I. Preterm labor with my first at 35 weeks and my second at 30 weeks. Bedrest then I had to be induced and it was horrible. Contractions start in the back and come around. I was an OB nurse before I went to the OR.

Daughter my first was 2 days early. Son and then son again. Both them 37 weeks. And all 3 no induce and natural. By time i gave in to contractions being 3mins apart show up hospital and deliever within 2 hours there. With all 3 times labor was fast.

I was induced at 42 weeks. My daughter was 9 pounds 13 0z 24 inches long and did not fit into newborn clothes! I weighed a total of 124 when she was born…. Lots of baby. She’s 5 11’ now and 32 years old.

With my first, he was due Aug 17. They induced me the first time on Sept 4, no luck. Then told me to come back on Sept 7! It felt like I was pregnant forever! He was 21 days late.

My experiences for each child: 1) 40w4d - was induced and only felt contractions when pitocin was given 2) 40w1d - water broke and went into labor naturally - was only a couple centimeters dilated but breech baby so c section 3) 40w1d - went into labor naturally and felt lots of contractions 4) 39w6d - doctor had stripped my membranes and I went into labor, made it to 6 cm on my own before needing epidural The contractions always felt like severe cramps to me. And as the baby dilated me, the contractions made me feel pressure down there. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of your new babes!

I have an incompetent cervix. I was on bed rest for 4 months with my first. I had an emergency cerclage put in my cervix. On 9/4 the Dr PULLED it out. He told me I would go into labor. I walked the hospital for 3 HOURS. SIXTEEN DAYS later I was induced because I was DONE! He is now 19 yrs old but still my baby.

They let me go three weeks past my due date and my daughter ended up with meconium aspiration and was in the NICU for 15 days. They never let me do that again!

When I was having contractions and didn't know I was having contractions it was my entire stomach was just tightening up and kind of uncomfortable Not really painful and my water broke the next Morning

I’m a retired NICU RN and can tell you that some of the sickest babies I saw were the post-term ones. Neonates have a special fat called brown fat that they put on in the last weeks of pregnancy. This helps nourish the infant in the first few days as lactation and “external” nourishment begins. Generally speaking the placenta is made to nourish for 40 weeks and after that time it can diminish, forcing the baby to start using up its brown fat and actually LOSE weight. Or it’s “brown fat reserve”. Thus being more prone to not tolerating labor/contractions as well. Many times passing meconium “poop” inside as a stress response and inhaling this fluid when first born. (We of course try to prevent this by suctioning the mouth and nose well when the head delivers but sometimes that’s not enough. We’ll even put a tube in their trachea “windpipe” to suck out what we can. Most times this works but sometimes it doesn’t and they develop severe respiratory compromise. These infants don’t have their reserve and can go downhill and crash fast. We always said we’d prefer a preemie over a post term. Well that got kinda long. Back in 2004 when I had our 1st son I was induced at 38 weeks because at that time the AMA came out and said there was more risk to mom and the baby if the pregnancy went to 40 weeks. Our 2nd son was born by c section because the 1st baby was too big and barely made it out at 38 weeks

I was in the military when my son was born and at that time they did not induce. I went three weeks over and my son weighed 10.4 lbs.

Wish I could help you but I never had natural birth. I was induced with both my births. So I have no idea either. I really wanted the whole natural birth with one of them but never got the choice. But would never trade either of my kids! They were worth it!

I was induced at 39 weeks with my first, 38 weeks with my third and 36 1/2 weeks then my fourth child because of high blood pressure-all girls. My son was my only child that I went into labor on my own at 39 weeks. So I never went past 40 weeks. Moral of my pregnancy journey was if you have a girl watch your blood pressure.🙃🙂

I ran out of measuring tape when they measured me when I was 36 weeks Ended up with a scheduled inducement 3 days later and a 10 lb 2 oz boy who is now 21 6'7" and size 18 feet
