Cant remeber most expensive.... but recently in last 6 months... bought SNES -- Rudra no Hihou CIB for $105 and SNES - Hameln no Violin Hiki CIB $128 both in great condition. I recommend looking into both does JRPGs from Japan if you guys dont have either. Also since you guys loved Earthbound. Look for "G.O.D. (Growth or Devolution)" for SNES from Japan, VERY rare game. I picked my copy for $80 loose... couldnt find CIB...

At long last, it’s finally here. Congrats Dan & Elisa. I’m so happy for you two for finally obtaining Earthbound CiB. In terms of the Most Expensive Game I’ve ever bought: I bought Demon’s Crest Complete in Box (CiB) for $250 off eBay back in 2020. It was a lot of money at the time but I really wanted it and I saved up for it. Also I still have it to this day. Either way Great Episode as always JRPGLife.

Wow, nice score! I remember when I first saw an empty Earthbound box at a shop for like $500 and I thought they were crazy. Look at the market now 🤣 Most expensive games I've ever purchased were arcade games, but in the realm of consoles, I bought an unopened Famicom Super Mario Bros maybe a year ago. Now that's a rare beast!

@@JRPGLife yeah, full cabinets can be nuts, but even just the conversion kits (game electronics, artwork, etc.) can be thousands. I think I paid $1400 for a Ketsui kit (Cave shmup). Later sold it, but a blast to play while I had it 😁

Absolutely no better feeling than completing a childhood game, especially a banger like Earthbound! I had this same joy when I finally got my hands on a box for A Link to the Past, which concluded a year-long journey of me bit and piecing together a CIB copy, starting with my original childhood copy.

Oh no that vedore that gave us the $2600 quote had it CIB with the game, but his box and book weren't in as good of condition as the one we bought. Plus he wouldn't split it up and just sell us the box and manual 😅

One thing that doesn’t make sense to me. Why because someone mods a console they ask more then items worth? Usually it’s not very difficult to mod something. Throw some retro games on it, that I’m sure they downloaded right off internet. Like they are trying sell a digital copy of games that they ripped off internet!?

Awesome, you were finally able to make your copy complete. I never thought I owned a cib or even got a loose copy of earthbound, so I bought it on super famicom. Person one day was selling old consoles and some games. I overheard him saying I got earthbound cib. He was carrying the stuff in a few items at a time so after the second time he came in and again saying oh yeah I got earthbound cib I left the store and waited for him to and asked how much figuring he want a lot for it and he happened to be carrying it that time. He said $20. Told him what it was worth, and I would be happy to pay a bit for it. Couldn't get him to accept more than $50. The only time I ever did that. I know joke with my friends it my $50 mouse pad🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sorry we weren't clear, that $2600 vendor was selling his CIB and didn't want to split them up. We bought our box and manual from Retro Respawn for a much better price 😀

It's wild I remember playing Earthbound at a friend's house. It was amazing. It fostered my love for rpgs. I had really only played platformers and Zelda up until then on the NES. This game is a classic. I want it and the others on the Switch very badly.

It was a modded psp. The biggest problem is that the seller felt the mod added a significant value to it, making it far too pricey for us to want to buy.

One of the biggest things I hate about Nintendo in 90s and Sony in the 00s is that so many amazing JRPGs like Earthbound, chrono trigger, Xenosaga, xenogears, ff1-6, DQ1-7 and many many more never came to the UK. Seeing a CIB Earthbound really made me envious.

Treasure Hunter G... = So many wonderful JRPGs on SNES that never made to USA. But i use Retron to translate them with a patch, and its been a blast finding these gems in wild/ebay. But the Earthbound = Beautiful

Depends on the mod. But generally, if it's modded, the seller will add an additional cost.
