What to do when the wind is in the west! Go bassing again of course! Link to my beloved Maxima Chameleon in 100m spools: christchurchanglingcentre.co....
Cracking session The one thing I love about seeing people catch bass is the smile it puts on their faces ...I don't think any other fish puts a smile on the face like a bass does ...your smile said it all ...
Crikey..it’s definitely time to christen the Bass rigs I bought from you at the back end of last year and start catching some Bass of my own. Another inspiring session…keep ‘em coming…
Another great video...thankyou....I bought some of your rigs....spot on....will be my go to rigs for bassing....quality videos...up there with the best..
Hi Tom, I watched this a couple of times to understand how you prepare and bait up the mackeral head and guts. This is something i have not tried yet as fishing off the North Kent coast towards the Thames, all the Bass i have managed to get are on locally dug lugworm, or on lures. Regarding the knife issue, there is no argument from me and agree there is no need for them on the beach, in fact I find scissors are easier to use.
Have you done a vid fishing off the Groyne? Had an 8ish pound bass there when fly fishing for maccies. It took the hooked mackerel and was then chased by another bass, more or less under the rod tip. A small crowd gathered to watch as it went on for ages chasing around in circles til it spat the mack out. None of us had seen anything like it!
That's an awesome story! I've not done anything on the groyne. Sadly, it's under reconstruction still, so we've not been able to fish it for a while, and probably won't this year either. Hopefully get back on it when it's finished though, lots of fond memories from there.
Wow..great catches! I love how it showed on your face how much you enjoyed yourself. You always make me giggle in your videos...the 10lb errrr congrats then walks away 🤣 I'm learning alot from you. Sadly I've not caught a Bass yet but hopefully with my new loop rig I will soon 🤞Thank you.
🤣 I'm still a double virgin! Fancy someone catching one on my rig! Lol You'll get your bass mate. Right time, right place, they're not difficult to catch.
Best of luck when you go mate. Beach fishing can be very hard, so don't get downhearted if at first you don't succeed. The rewards are huge when you do.
Very exciting Tom mate! Will have to give that a go in the coming weeks! Used to love crabbing on the mudeford side & fish off the spit when I was a kid. Definitely a favourite spot for me round there that I rarely visit in my adulthood
Well done, matey. Size doesn't really matter. It's getting out there and enjoying some fishing that counts. (Remind me of that at the end of the year when I still haven't caught a double 🤣🤣)
Hi mate. Spoke to you in your shop the other day. Gonna try this at my mates hut and then cook any suitable catches in his hut. Perhaps you could join him in a video?
That sounds like a great idea, good luck to you both. Next time you pop in, let me know which hut you're in then when I'm up there next I'll pop my head in and say hi. 👋
Mate thanks as always for the vids. I Should have stuck it out but I’ll be sure to sort my tackle out better next time! Rekon I cleared the weed for ya! 😂😂 Thanks for the tips, you really are a true gent! Beautiful fish!
No worries dude. Was nice to bump into you. I coupd see the thick heavy weed on the beach when I got there. I bet that was a pain when it was in the water!
Brilliant video Tom. Don’t apologise for repetition, I could watch/catch Bass every session, that would suit me fine. Love the comment on the knife. Really not sure why I take it at all 🤔. Pretty much operate catch and release all the time. Only use the knife to fillet the odd one that sadly doesn’t go back unless somebody has made a rare request for the table. I’m going to take it out and rely on the scissors from now on 👍🏻 Keep the though provoking views coming. Tight Lines
Another excellent video Tom! I'm a carp angler mainly but the last few years I've really got into the bass lure fishing. Now I'm keen to give this type of fishing a go especially after watching your bembridge session as it's 10 mins from my house. What size rod and reel would you suggest for fishing like this?
Thank you for answering with some IOW local knowledge, much appreciated. With regards to the rod and reel for this style of fishing, with bait rather than lures, I like a nice soft 4.2m three piece rod. Something that can handle 2 to 4oz is ideal in most situations. This'll give a good bite, enjoyable fight yet still handle a few different situations if needed.
I'm nearly always looking for specific areas in all my fishing. I've tried to explain on camera what I'm looking for, but it's not as easy to point things out when you're not there in person. There are lots of skills in fishing, but for me, water craft and bait presentation are the two biggest.
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 you are spot on as usual, does the rig tangle at all when your casting, I must pickup some of the bars to give them a go.
Great video very discriptive if you don’t mind me asking what do you use to video your self and sound as it’s very clear . Iv just started recording on the Isle of Wight very early days !! Thanks in advance and look forward to the next video
Thanks mate. I use a GoPro 10 with the Media Mod on a reasonably decent quality tripod, but the big difference for me was when I invested in a wireless mic. The difference in the audio was massive. I use the Rode Go Wireless II. Now this combo does come with some serious draw backs, mostly based around batteries! For instance you can't continuous record with the gopro hooked up to an external power source and use the external mic at the same time. As crazy as that sounds. I've learnt the hard way a couple of times!
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 thank you much appreciated , roll on payday 😂 100% getting the mic first though the waves on a shingle beech , wow the noise on a recording. Look forward to your next video
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 Hi Tom, sorry to jump in on this comment, whats the answer to this problem? I have a gopro 10 and want the wireless mic but I need to record while connected to a power source? It's making my head hurt trying to solve it haha
@fishaunangling hey mate. The only answer is a separate audio recorder. The downside to that is, you have to sync the video and audio afterwards. Most video editing software will do this for you though. I use audio cues, usually a clap 👏. A bit like the clapper boards they use in the movies! Once synced, you just mute the audio on the video track. I use a Tascam DR-10L.
You can fish from Mudeford quay, but there are more people, I like the quieter side. To get there you need to park at Hengistbury Head and walk up. It's a long walk!
When I have them in stock, yes! However, they tend to fly out the door in double quick time and I'm too stupid/disorganised to reorder them quickly! I will strive to improve.
