This one is super funny to imagine seeing from the villager's point of view. You basically never see that weird farmer guy until he bursts out of nowhere, starts swinging tools in the air, and ostentatiously digs in the garbage in clear view of you.

i like it even more when i get an item that’s useful to me (community center items, food for energy, or bad gifts to give to lewis or george bc i hate them)
it actually rewards you with 5 friendship points with him... but he can only catch you rummaging through the trash on one day a year... and 5/255 is 1.96% of a friendship heart, so it's not worth doing for anything other than a cute moment
@@MILOEBA Yea :) I like to think Linus sees the player as a threat until he realises they do the same things he does. There's also one of Linus' heart events where he digs through George's trash, so he's confirmed to be a dumpster diver.

I was so confused until I just learned that if you dustbin dove in front of multiple folk, it only picks one of them to be grossed out by it. I always thought it was all of them and couldn't work out why you weren't deciding to do it when there were loads around.
Who knew it could be so hard to get all the villagers to see you digging through the trash when they're always so annoying always seeing you digging through it lol
Challenge suggestion (if you haven't done this already, I'm new to this channel): give each npc a hated gift .. should be relatively easy, looking at the universal hates. The question is .. how fast can you accomplish this on the main island, but ideally including Sandy. Leo would be too much hassle imo.
Now, if digging through trash in the hopes that as many people as possible see it isn't the perfect representation of this channel, I don't know what is. ;)
I'm wondering if it's because Penny wasn't facing the trash can and Jas was even though she was closer? Wouldn't make sense for Alex but just throwing it out there. Also I'm sure Seanie tries to block out certain stressful speedruns but seriously would love to see him do these again I bet he could cut the time in like half.
I think the NPC chosen is the first NPC who has entered the area, which is also within 7 tiles. So I think for example Vincent came out before Jas and Penny, so it picked Vincent.
I figure I has to be the trash cans outside but one time Marnie caught me digging through her inside trash through a wall while she was at the counter so, maybe inside trash % would be easier?
What did you expect poor penny to do as a young lady being stalked by some creep that desperately wanted her to watch them go digging through trash? I'm sure I'd take evasive action too in that situation!
Kent stands outside his house every night and I fish down there and always check both trash cans and he never says anything about it,,,,I jus figured he was in his own wee world 🤣🤣🤣
Could improved if you remeber that 1 NPCs only have to be in like a 10 tile radius AND everyone in that radius has a chance of reacting not the closest character
You are incorrect. NPCs walk past three trash cans on the right, too. I have been caught by Penny, Elliott, Caroline, Jas, Leo, Vincent, Abigail, Lewis, Pam, Jodi, Sam, Shane, Harvey, and Clint while digging in them. I try my best to dig in all cans every day. It is a part of my routine :) It is a pity that decorative trash can cannot be dug in. At least I did not manage :) Did someone here manage it? Love Linus reaction :)
I only started playing the game a few months ago so idk if this was before 1.5, but with 1.5's release Leo exists and it's my understanding that he spends time in Pelican Town once you have enough hearts with him, which would mean getting caught by every possible NPC in 1.5 would require completion of the community center.
I don’t know about that new farmer guy…. I only ever saw him digging through trash cans and loitering. Why does he act like he’s in a hurry all the time?
Wait, can you not get caught by Penny, Vincent and Jazz at the blacksmith can? Have I been wasting my time? Or does Seanie just not love Penny as much as me
