We live in Paradise without pride, our walls are separated with green trees, our roads are covered with grass, our hills has nothing but flowers with their fragrances making experiences while the sounds and views of the might Mosi-o-tuya falls makes everlasting stories. Very interesting because that is Sesotho language. I do understand that in the 1800’s a king from Lesotho (Free State in South Africa) left with some troop and conquered western Zambia (the Barotse Land), the name of the king was named King Koloko. I was surprised when I was in Western Zambia and speak in Sesotho people could understand and talk back! I’m a Mosotho from South Africa.

Zambia has over 17 beautiful waterfalls one of which is the Kalambo waterfalls in northern Zambia near Lake Tanganyika. Kalambo falls is over 236m high, second in height from Tugela falls in South Africa. Zambia is endowed with many rivers and lakes. In fact, the source of the Congo river is in Luapula province of Zambia. The name Zambia is derived from the mighty Zambezi River. Nzambi means God and Zambia means God country.

@Guardie-M
@Guardie-M 2 года назад
Good points. Lake Kariba is largely controlled by Zim. However Zim does have over 15 points of the frontage of the Vic falls. I understand why the lady was over emphasizing the km aspect because it is a fact. But we all know that without bias Zimbabwe has the best views of Vic falls. It also has the best benefit of having the city called Vic falls just like we have a real town of Kariba and a real place called Kariba in Zim. However we are lucky to share this beautiful place with you our brothers in Zambia. I was just responding to your post without taking away the beauty of our sister country Zambia

I think you should move away operating at lower levels of deeply embedded in imaginary borders that were imposed. People like you can start wars on things like that. The one who created them doesn't see it from your point view neither the local people I suppose. I am sure at some point Zim and Zambia were one country, so I would suggest you move to another level were you see things from the mountain top not from the valley, a better level of maturity. I have visited the Falls, arriving at Victoria Falls airport in Zim and stayed there, as well as Livingstone on the Zambian side. That's the best way to enjoy your holiday and it will be a pretty good one. Comments about the bigger side or best view are irrelevant, rather efforts should be made to market together with the game reserves on either side plus the nearby Chobe National park in Botswana.

Niagara Falls on the US side is called the Horseshoe Falls because of it shape and it is in the ground whereas Niagara Falls on the Canadian side is cascading down from a hilly rock formation similar to Victoria Falls.

Yes, I've heard of Victoria Falls, awesome waterfalls, name should be changed to an African name to distance themselves from colonialism, just saying 🇯🇲

Its Original name is Mosi oa Tunya. Meaning the smoke that thunders. Victoria Falls was the name David Livingstone who claimed to have discovered them and named them after queen victoria... funny thing is there where locals there and he claims to be the first person to ever see them. As black people globally we need to write our own narratives

@@bossmalo947 I agree totally, how can a mzungu come all the way from overseas to claim he "discovered" a place that has been there for centuries ? It's clear that they always wanted to exclude Africans from taking their rightful place in history on their own Continent, a name change is long overdue.

Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 and Zambia 🇿🇲 are the same pple. Its a pity we have borders, otherwise it would be great to see from both sides. You should definitely see it from the Zimbabwean side and walk in the rain forest

As a Zambian I agree with you too. Was thinking the same thing. Interesting how the channels of the Zambezi pass in on or two countries. Shows how we are one indeed. And the heritage of the soil of Africa, is for africans.(Africa: i heard it's the wrong name too, alkebulan or Ethiopia is the former name - meaning mother of mankind or garden of eden)
