8 Singers. 8 Rappers. 8 Dancers. Though for context of this song Hyunjin (namely part of the dance team, and one hell of an actual Artist - his paintings are masterpieces) and Bang Chan (the leader and part of 3RACHA, their production team) wrote and produced this song. It is poetry, with a tune. Hyunjin specifically wanted Felix to start this song.. you can watch it all in their INTRO video, I think it was. Seriously, all of them play such a vital part to every song they create.

When we say all eight can sing....We mean it. Some don't sing as often, but they are all beautiful in their own right. And this song always brings a tear to my eye. There's no real rap or vocal line anymore. There are the ones who do the most rapping & the ones who do the most singing. The ones who do the most rapping are Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, and Felix. The more common vocalists are Bang Chan, Lee Know, Seungmin, and I.N. But they do switch fields when the song calls for it. It's actually kind of fun. The Rap group got together and wrote a song, and the vocal group did too. While they were on their Maniac World Tour, they would divide up & sing the songs, and then have the audience vote on who sang better that day. And just to prove a point....During a Dome Tour, they switched who sang what. The vocal group rapped & the Rap group sang. If you want to check those out, the songs are Muddy Water (Rap groups song) and Waiting For Us. (Vocal groups song)

@@chaandgabe you should definitely listen to Bang Chan"s solo "I Hate to Admit" for a real emotional rollercoaster. Just his voice and a piano - a little bit of strings at one point but minimal - it's just so raw and emotional. Something about the way his voice conveys emotion really makes you FEEL the song/lyrics. Man can get me crying and in my feels within seconds of hearing him!

All the hidden vocals in this by Bangchan are just… so good. They usually leave their music up to people’s interpretation, but this one… what I get from it is those moments when you are feeling something so intensely and desperately sad that the light literally hurts you at the moment… begging for someone to shelter you, to let you hide away, until you’re ready to feel the warmth of the sun again.

Hyunjin and Bang Chan absolutely did an amazing job writing this song and it made me cry the first time I listened to it too. All of them have such wonderful vocals and while technically speaking the “vocal line” among them is Seungmin and I.N, they really do all shine. I always love when they hit us with a mostly vocal track! I’m so glad you enjoyed it because right now I think it’s in my top 5 favorite Stray Kids songs. Can’t wait for you to see the guide and get to hopefully see a bit of their personalities in it too, they’re all so sweet!

First time I heard Cover Me it instantly became one of my favorite Stray Kids songs. I will not go over who are the main vocalists in the group because I am sure someone else in these comments already told you, but as you can see they all can sing beautifully, and they have songs where they all rap as well. This was an unexpected reaction but I am here for it! This song is definitely a tear-jerker and it was part of a 10-minute Short film on RU-vid called SKZFLIX which plays a part in their group lore in some of their mixtape songs M/V. Bangchan is my bias but I love all the members very much for different reasons. Changbin doesn't usually sing too much in their discography so it's always a treat to hear him sing.

Edit and comment #2 for those new to SKZ. The breakdown is as follows: Bang Chan, Changbin and HAN are 3RACHA and have been together as trainees since before SKZ was created by Bang Chan. They namely write and produce everything DanceRacha is: Lee Know, Hyunjin and Felix. They're the main 'dancers', but they've all branched out, write songs, can sing, rap etc etc VocalRacha are the two youngest; Seungmin and I.N. Though they're the youngest, they're SO talented and dedicated! Seriously, each voice in SKZ has its own color. and each person has their own thing that they bring into the group. They are the OT8! There was, at one point, a 9th, whom chose to leave (Woojin) and while he isn't openly spoken of often, he too was such a force in the younger years of the team. Funnily enough the two voices you pointed out, Changbin and Bang Chan were early classified as the rappers haha

Before I even read the lyrics when I first heard this song in the behind the scenes recording session & I heard Seungmin hit that first high note & I balled like a baby for absolutely no reason. OH! I was so excited to see you choose this song. It was one I recommended. It really is so beautiful and moving. Their lyricism is top notch. As you are relatively new to Stray Kids, I'm not even sure you realised that ALLLL of the members were singing including the regular rappers, Changbin and Han. That surprises many people. I also appreciate you've gone to one of their ballads so early in your journey. So many people don't see beyond their high energy songs and they have so much more breadth and depth to their lyricism, wordplay, metaphors and musical style. You cannot box them in though many people try to. Absolutely LOVED your reaction.

If you want to hear stunning vocals (and cry a bit, too), check out these recent duets with Seungmin and HAN, singing two of their already-released songs (HAN wrote both of them). VOLCANO - written by HAN and originally performed by him as a solo. HOLD ON - again, written by HAN and originally performed by Seungmin as a solo. In this video, they are singing duets for both songs, and their vocals will blow your socks off. Especially for the song, HOLD ON. I cried buckets when I heard them singing together on that one. So most of Stray Kids songs are written and produced by Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han (collectively called 3Racha), though others are often part of the process as well. but Cover Me was written by Hyunjin with 3Racha. Hyunjin’s songs have a distinct sound to them and are some of my favorites. They typically have a bit of R&B slinky vibe to them, if you’re interested, and feeling a little brave, Hyunjin and Bang Chan did a duet called Red Lights, good vocals, dirty bass, and sexy lyrics with a hot video. It’s an experience. 🔥🖤

Oh! Coming back to add: you should also look into the mv for Fam, but specifically the Korean version, as the Japanese one doesn't have English subtitles - it's a hype song where one member raps a verse about another member, then that member raps a verse about another member, and so on through the whole group, so it can serve as a mini introduction to them all!

Cover Me is (in my humble opinion) one of the best vocal showcases of all 8 of them. If you're curious about their ballad'y pieces I recommend checking Leave, I Am You (ballad ver), Neverending Story, Lonely St., Waiting For Us (Bang Chan, Lee Know, Seungmin, I.N unit), Muddy Water unit (Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix) covering Waiting For Us. As for solo songs (you will get there with time) in age order: Hate to Admit, Limbo, Streetlight, Little Star, Volcano, Deep End, Hold On, Hug Me ❤

don’t feel bad about crying. a lot of us found stray kids during our darkest/hardest times and their music and lyrics are always so genuine it really speaks to us 😢

I tear up every time I listen to this song. It came out about 8 monyhs after i lost my mom and the lyrics say what i feel. I just want to hide everything but at the same time i want to lean on someone who can witness my weakness without using it against me, just cover me during the bad moments. Luckily my husband is the one that does that so i can be strong for our children.

Wait until you hear Youtiful, which Chan wrote for Stays. Or Lonely St, or Scars which is a Japanese release. Also Ex, Mixtape:Oh, Waiting for Us, Secret, Secret... they have quite a few beautiful ballads or softer songs to listen to. Bang Chan solo song w just piano... I Hate to Admit is beautiful Also if you want to experience Felix complete vocal range check out his solo Deep End They all have gorgeous vocals honestly. Stayville is a safe place. The boys are extremely affectionate with one another and not afraid to show their emotions. They are even vulnerable on stage and cried many times in concerts, especially Chan and Felix.

I got into SKZ because of their “loud” music and unique sound but what made me a STAY forever are their ballads. On the new album I love Megaverse and LaLaLaLa and Comflex but Cover me is my fave song. Have just been binging your stray kids reactions. Noticed through all of them how you kept commenting on Chan's voice. And I love that. Second skz song I ever heard (Scars) starts with Chan and I was a Stay. Right away. No doubt about it. Not just his technique or vocal colour and tone etc...but the man knows how to convey emotions with all that technique that is just out of this world. Love all of them btw but not too many reactors comment on Chan like you did and I guess it makes sense ..because Chan often puts himself in the background. If you want vocals...Neverending story (live version is the best) or Scars the first take. Wow

Hyunjin is more in the rap line than vocal line. The vocal line is Seungmin&I.N, Lee Know (hes main dancer but when it comes to lines he has vocal lines over rap, he has a really nice falsetto) and Bang Chan helps out a lot. Han is main rapper but has to help out in vocal a lot, especially in the early days he did a lot of high notes (in addition to his raps) since he has a great vocal ramge and noone else dared to😂. I think Han still has the most lines overall in skz discography. Followed by Bang Chan. And just as a side note, I absolutely love when Han and Changbin (the main rappers) show their vocal side, thry both have absolutely beautiful voices.

Actually Chan and Lino ARE in the vocal line, they don't only help. Vocalracha, and racha units in general, don't really represent their positions. Just what they focus on. Fun fact: during kingdom there was a sheet released where all the participant idols' information were written, including their positions in the group. Chan and Lino both had all the positions, with Chan having producer and leader in addition. 😊

@@tapioooca5182 Chan can both rap and sing so he could be in both that's why I said he liked to help out in the vocal department since skz rap line is super strong and the vocal line still had some growing to do in the early days. Lee Know is mainly a dancer. So yeah, neither are really mainly vocalists. I think you get what I mean.

@@alinasmith5737 yeah but they are officially in the vocal line and chan being in it has nothing to do with the rap line being strong, he debuted as a lead vocalist. i think i get what you mean tho, you thought saying they are vocalists would be like that's their only position. but both are officially in every line according to a sheet that was released during kingdom provided by the companies of the participating groups

@@tapioooca5182 what they say doesn't matter to me it's what they do that counts. What's their role in skz? For me neither s main role is vocalist. Chan is *best leader* and producer and than vocalist and Lee Know is *dancer* and than vocalist, imo. The roles are so fluid in skz you really can't say "rap line" and "vocal line", it's more they do this more or that more. There's Han who helps in both departments and than there's others that help more in one or the other.

Hyunjin generally raps, but I have to point out Changbin's amazing vocals in this. He's normally known as a rapper, but he has a beautiful singing voice. All 8 members sing and rap very well. They're all-rounders. You can't really classify any of them as just a rapper or just a singer. Even the "vocal line" raps very well. I.N. and Seungmin rapped Changbin and Han's parts in Muddy Water for a fan meet and it was really good, lol.

What's wild is that they ended up using Seungmin's first take for the final record. Kid is just that damn good. Hyunjin wrote this one with Bang Chan and helped compose and produce it. His songs are always incredibly emotional. Also, yeah, our rappers sing like that, too. These boys are all out here as all rounders. I love them all so much and I'm just so proud

VocalRacha doesn't really represent the main vocalists actually. If there were a main vocal position, it would be Seungmin, but the vocal line of skz consists of Seungmin, Bang Chan, I.N and Lee Know

This is my FAVORITE off their latest album. Like I cannot! When Seungmin comes in, it's a wrap, I have to sing that note at the TOP of my voice. My husband and kids just cover their ears, cause I'm going to sing those notes.
