UPDATE: Don't fret, I'll go back for the secret ending. It's hard to know about a "secret" unless someone or the game tells you, hence why it's a secret ending...👀 WOW this game... 🤯 I hope ya'll enjoy the END of God of War 2018 with me! Make sure to subscribe so you don't miss when I start God of War Ragnarok next week!!
This is the second video I've seen on this game. The other was one of yours as well, on a part I had just finished. A couple of things I find intriguing; one is that in some ways, it is just as enjoyable to watch someone else do it, and the other is how interesting it is to hear another perspective on what is depicted. Well done.
I agree! That's the beauty of us being able to play these amazing games blind too, we can go in without any other opinions or feelings changing things for us. So cool!
Well....Ragnarok has come! Hehe I'm so glad you enjoyed and loved these characters and story! It really is an epic game. I find all playstation exclusive games a bit emotional haha so don't worry I shed tears too! Thank you for an amazing playthrough Liz! Stay sage and I'll see you at Ragnarok hehe
14:02. I love all the game. I feel like if you're playing a good game. You shouldn't rush it at all. I love taking my time and exploring every crevice of a great game or if I personally love the game. I'm really good at kickass and I always do all the side missions in games I play. I love games like the Uncharted series "God of War series "Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires "Horizon Zero Dawn and West "Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut on PS5 "Spider-Man Remastered and 2 "Assassin's Creed Blackflag and "Unity. Whew! That was like a lot alot🤗. Yeah I don't mind long as you're having fun and I like you so I'm happy to experience and enjoy this with you. ✨️👏
Great video glad you enjoyed the masterpiece that is God of War 2018, the next game Ragnarok somehow takes everything to the next level especially writing and characters so look forward to your playthrough of that as well.
11:42 . Yep. I made sure I didn't miss not one island to kick some ass on. I did every sidequest before beating the game. I'm really good at singleplayer fighting. So it was just a hell of lot of fun. 😀👍🏽
Awesome video Liz 🤘 and hope you're doing well and having a blessed and wonderful weekend ☺️🙏❤️ and can't wait to watch you play god of war Ragnarok its gonna be fire 🔥
this playthrough was absolutely glorious!! Not having to play yourself allows you to really look around and truly concentrate on the story and details. And next to that listening and watching your reactions makes it even more fun. r-three, r-three, r-threeeeeee 😂❤ Now waiting for the ragnarok ship to come in :D
Well done, Liz. I love this game and really enjoyed your play through. These episodes have been a blast to watch. You have such a great channel. Keep up the good work.
52:49 that’s the first time I’ve ever seen you use L1+O. The person who put that move in the game was a huge marvel fan. That’s Thanos’ gauntlet. Cool ship right? 😂 also there’s a little tease in this just by returning back to your house in the game. Stream that part before you start Ragnorok👍🏽
This game just was so powerful, like being on a sea of chaotic action, filled with huge waves crashing all around, threatening to wash us all overboard with the waves crashing over the ship, only to be rescued by a strong rope thrown to us as we bob around pulling us to safe harbor where we can consider what happened. So amazing, thank you for playing this game, Liz.. such a great game.
Epic journey Liz, loved every second of it. You did an amazing job, you're so fun to watch... This serie was such a confort spot for me on tuff times... I'll abasolutely love if you explore more of it, maybe in lives... Unfortunately I havent played Ragnarok yet, so I'll be missing you for a while, see you soon Liz, lots of love from Brazil
This made me tear up a few times. First with Baldr and Freya, now with spreading Faye's ashes. And that ending song! First it was Black Flag (The Parting Glass), now God of War. That is something special when a game can tug at the emotions. Have a great day!
Woah. 😍😍😍😍 Extra long video today. 🥰🥰 11:41 Yes. It's fun to hear Atreus and Kratos talk about stuff pertaining to away or before the story missions. 🤗 Just father and son bonding time before the finale. Also Liz, just remember that 'ð' means 'th' sound when reading the lore (since it appears alot), like seiðr. 27:40 Impersonations are so funny in these games. 🤣🤣 38:02-38:28 Oof. You just made me realize a scary thought. What if the sound was the serpent's heartbeat, deep within? 😭 Never realized that, or I could be wrong. 39:13 Nope. A cipher chest which is a gateway to your last Chaos/Frozen flames. Only Nornir (three symbol) chests have the Iðunn apples and blood mead. Also just realized that the 1 hour mark Kratos beats Baldur just like how he beat Zeus. 1:09:52-1:10:27 Kinda like basically sums up some of Kratos' character development in this game, cause Kratos was a MUCH harsh god killer in the previous games with no care of the world and consequences he'd receive from killing gods. Hellbent on revenge against the gods and their cruelty he was. "The cycle ends here." is a line straight from Zeus in the second og game when Zeus attempted to kill Kratos, so Kratos uses this line here to a better advantage. And "we must be better than this." (ig obviously) implies that no more fathers and sons killing each other. (See? Side missions are important too. 🤣) Welp, friendships have been made on this journey. 🤗🤗 I appreciate EVERYTHING that you do. I won't tell you anything about Jormungandr other than he just mostly disappeared. But, if you want, you can do one more video of side quests, maybe in Muspelheim and Niflheim for you to explore two new realms, AND, don't forget the game's secret ending, by returning to Kratos' old home. And, in the next game, just bring a box of tissues in case. The game is filled with SAD and AMAZEMENT ALL OVER. P.S. I'll try to keep my writing shorter, but I'm just so amazed with your gameplay. 😭
Awww I appreciate you so much for your awesomeness and comments! I definitely want to go back and see this secret ending and the other realms too! So much more to do!
Did your dog bark when Baldur popped out of the water? Hahaha You also the PERFECT combo to end the fight. You are going to love Ragnarok. It’s damn near perfect. ❤️🤘🏻
If you play Ragnarok next, I recommend at least waiting about its Valhalla DLC until after you play the older God of War games. It's insanely spoiler-heavy.
Congratulations Liz on completing the main story of this amazing game! A few info about the names of Kratos and Atreus. Kratos is the Greek word ¨Κράτος¨ which means "state, nation" nowadays. In ancient Greek the word Kratos means mainly physical strength, power. In Greek mythology Kratos was the personification of brute power. According to Hesiod's Theogony, Kratos was the child of the titan Pallas and the goddess Styx, the personification of one of the rivers of Hades and the daughter of Oceanus, and his siblings were Violent, Zealous and Nike. In Aeschylus' ancient tragedy, Prometheus Bound, Kratos and Violence are servants of Zeus who helped Hephaestus execute the punishment of the titan Prometheus by tying him to Mount Caucasus. There are, of course, also versions, where Kratos was the illegitimate child of Zeus (whose unrestrained urges are responsible for a large part of Greek mythology) and an unnamed mortal woman. Atreus, "Ατρέας" in Greek means "fearless". In Greek mythology, Atreus was a king of Mycenae in the Peloponnese, the son of Pelops and Hippodamia, and the father of Agamemnon and Menelaus, two heroes of the Trojan War.
Great reaction. THANKS, Liz. I enjoyed the journey. And thanks for the spoiler warning on Red Dead Redemption 2! I'm still to play it, and also love stories with emotional story that surprises you.
The cycle ends here refers to the stopping of sons killing their fathers(or at this case mother) which has been going for generations in Kratos past in the Greek games and story but your approach was interesting. Also to make you more happy I will say that the World Serpent didnt die. You will see in Ragnarok(thats not a spoiler:))
It took me till very recently to realize that Baldur's "what?" when Kratos turns on Spartan Rage is because he's feeling how strong Kratos really is for the first time, love watching ppl play this story since i seem to always be able to pull more and more out of it every time. to ragnarok!
Just a heads up, many of the sidequests in Ragnarok will mesh more into the general story and often are more worth doing from a lore perspective than in 2018. Definitely don't shy away from them, we'll all be here for the entire journey!
Definitely do the valkyrie fights, that's a gaming bucket list item for sure. Even if you don't do it on the highest difficulty, it's still very rewarding to finish it all off. I did it on GMGOW NG+ and I wanted to cry and it took forever to do, but it was the hardest challenge I've ever done in gaming and made the combat in Ragnarok so much easier when I started out there.
Kratos naming his son after someone that gave him hope really does hit the feels 😢 Also if not already, you might want to watch Raising Kratos, it's the documentary about the making of the game, probably one of the best making of documentaries I've seen, a really emotional journey
Gongratulations to beating the game! You will love Ragnarök! But i’d still recommend a quick read up on wikipedia on norse mythology. The second game is more of exactly the same, but bigger, smarter, fancier and more thought through. It is one of the most beautiful games i have played with amazing character developments, and the side storys are fantastic. Can’t wait for the series.
considering how invested you get into these games i'd really recommend cyberpunk, the characters and story are really well written and they do a great job immersing you in the world
Don't forget to find the third, Super EXTRA Secret Ending too, where it is revealed that the whole story was just a hallucination, brought on by eating funky mushrooms.
I agree that you dont have to 100% a game to successfully finish it but God of war has a lot of story even in the sidequest. So you should at least explore on your own at some time. You want regret it
Thank you for such a fun and heartfelt play through of this masterpiece! I’m so glad you thoroughly enjoyed this game and found so much joy in everything God of War threw at you. This is the first play through of yours I’ve watched (found your channel a few weeks ago) and it was definitely a blast to experience. I know how much this game meant to me when I first played it back in 2018, and it was cool to see how invested you became with the story and the characters (even egotistical Atreus) It’s always refreshing to see pure honesty reactions and no hesitation in expressing any and all emotions felt. Thank you again for all the entertainment, smiles, laughter and especially the eclectic collection of song lyrics! See you at Ragnarok
Thank YOU so much for being here and being so awesome! I appreciate your kindness! I loved this game so much! Can't wait to share Ragnarok with ya'll this Saturday!
To be fair to Baldur, you too would go insane after not being able to feel ANYTHING for over a century. Not being able to taste, feel the air around you, or even being able to be intimate with abother person. Im sure most people would harbor resentment to their parent if they did that to them
Lemme go ahead and add to the fifty billion comments saying to play Ragnarok....PLAY RAGNAROK 😂😂 P.S - I saw you said you were gonna play Ragnarok next week. Anyways, play Ragnarok!😅
Mythology Geek Moment- in "traditional" Norse mythology, Freya and Frigg were separate goddesses- Freya ruled the Vanir with her brother and father, and Frigg was an Aesir goddess who was Odin's wife (essentially the Norse version of Hera in Greek mythology). Making them the same entity was another inspired move by the writers of this game.
The GoW game writers didn't come up with that idea on their own. There was already debate among scholars about this idea, long before the original GoW series was even conceived. For example, in 1998, the scholar Stephan Grundy wrote articles that explored whether or not Freyja and Frigg may have been a single goddess. He concluded that there is no definitive evidence either way.
congrats Liz. a few episodes ago when Atreus finds out he is a god I made a cheeky joke about Atreus being "low-key" stupid but I was afraid you might get it and it would spoil things for you lol. certain events of the game is much more impactful if you know the older games. if you are planning on playing them get ready for some crazy stuff.
Baldur wasn’t evil his parents made him evil . Fact His mother took his happiness and all the feelings from him His father used that for his selfish reasons and lied to him by telling him he knows the cure to use him So i think hes just the unlucky son
I hate how these casual-gamers visualized Baldur's character, dude. They just saw him like this generic evil villain, even though the game it´s telling them "He´s a victim. Have some empathy for him"🙄
Yes, I'm sure only "serious gamers" understood this...whatever your definition of serious is? Did you listen to my thoughts about this game? Or watch the entire video? You've probably posted the same exact comment on every "END of God of War" video here on RU-vid 🤡
