I've been a big Dollar Tree fan my whole life, and lately their craft section has been expanding with new finds, so today I wanted to see if I could make a plushie using only materials found at the $1.25 tree. Let's see what we can make!

the premier just yarn from dollar tree is amazing for the price! I agree that finding cute colors is a struggle though. I've talked to employees before and they never know what colors they'll get in each week, so you just have to keep an eye out. I've found multiple shades of pink before though!

Just an idea for the eyes... if you bought some cheap erasers and stab them through the pointy part it would: A. Secure the eyes B. Cover the pokey part

So cute! Other suggestions for the eyes: sew them with embroidery floss/yarn or crochet small circles. I crocheted a sock monkey for my niece when she was 2 or 3. Instead of using the plastic eyes, I crocheted little black circles.

Exactly! Most of the time I don't even bother with button eyes, instead I either take black yarn and crochet a little circle, or embroider them on.

idea to make the eyes stay: you can glue them in place with hot glue! A lot of crocheters actually do this when they're making things for kids, but it would also be usefull in this situation!

Tbh the dollar tree yarn (specifically Primier Just Yarn) is surprisingly good. I have a good handful of colors of it in my stash and its as good as any other yarn ive used

Awww amazing plushie *_* Tip for eyes - you can also use a glue. It's not a perfect way how to make plushie's eyes unmovable, but at least you will be not much worry about drop it somewhere. For my first plushie I used just a black yarn (make a circle or "draw" them by needle lmao)

For the eyes, you could actually use some pin backings or just cut up erasers to hold the pushpins in place :D

okay so, I have literally all of the yarn from dollar tree (some are just sooo cute) and I've collected all of the fuzzy/fluffy yarn, its adorable, but the quality is bleh ); if you pull too hard on the yarn, the fuzzy part just rips off, so you'll have to be gentle and try not to tighten your work. but overall, if you don't wanna spend more than $10 on yarn, i feel like dollar tree is worth it.

I've had to resort to push pins before too. I used the little butterfly earring backings and crimped them tight to hold them firmly.

I recommend dollar max. It has crochet hooks, yarn needles, and sometimes decent yarn. Replacements for stitch markers could be paper clips or safety pins. You could also embroider eyes with black yarn

For the safety pin eyes, if you have the closing thingys on earrings you put it on the back as it acts like an ear with an earring, ONLY if you don’t have any other option and this is what you got.
