Whoever said that money can't buy you happiness? Just watching this made me extremely happy! The work you guys did here is incomprehensible! Mind Blown!😱💥
Money can't buy you true happiness BUT if you have joy in your life already money can amplify it one trillion fold in an instant. Just Audio can make what was old new again. I've seen it often enough to know.😃 It was nice seeing KEEMSTAR having his mind blown. Nice seeing someone other than me having a Just Audio inspired overjoyed meltdown.🤣
well. I am speechless. This was in the style of very professionally made "redo-journey" videos for restaurants, houses, cars, fish tanks, etc. Accept - this was way more earnest, entertaining, engaging, educational, cooler, funnier and full of down to earth kindness. You are just an all around good person.
@@gustercc why dont u see xenon headlights on a 55 mercury ? or on a cobra? because they just dont look right ......same thing here , to put white led instead of warm yellow light on a vintage piece its a big KITSCH , that pioneer looks like something from a spoiled kid room who wants to show everyoane how ,, cool ,, he is .....just my humble opinion. ps. i bet those old big capacitors still have very good performance even by today standards.
@@hennessy4666So, as a car guy... I have absolutely seen Xenons (ten years ago, it's high-output LEDs now) on vintage cars. Heck my side business is restoring and restomodding cars, I've sent cars to SEMA from my shop like that. The new trend is BMW-esque Halos. We just shipped a ''66 Comet Caliente Convertible with four color changeable halos on the highs and lows; not my style but the buyer liked it, so... And just like this, it's a light. Don't like it? A soldering iron and 20 minutes can make it whatever you want. Caps? 50/50, If the saline is gone, as most of them would be at this age, it's time to go. Stick in some nice Nichicons, put sealed pots in for the knobs, it'll sound better than the 70s all day. I applaud people doing what they want with the products they own...
I’d love to know how to hook up one of those spectrum analyzers to my vintage system in bedroom and even the one in living room which has a kinda modern anthem 225
Discovered you guys to Andrew Robinson's channel, never got away since. You guys rock! Sadly I'm living over the pound in Europe... Otherwise would come over buy some stuff 😅
I never realized narcissistic Dirtbag podcasters made that kind of money. Amazing. Personally and for functional reasons, I think the turntable should be on top... Aside from the tacky narcissistic logos, everything came out great
You have the equivalent of trump derangement syndrome but for keemstar 😂😂🤣 life is too short to be worried about an Internet personality that you don’t know
15:52 You should NEVER tin the wires when you are using screw terminals! That makes a bad contact because solder is soft and with time it will get lose. You need wire ferrules for stranded or use screw termnals that work with stranded wire or remove teh screw terminal and solder directly on teh pcb (best option).
I have three Pioneers SX1980 and one had a beep mark and was to repair it with silver solder and it turned out so good you can't fill it with your hand well you need a magnifier glass to see it and it still hard to find if you don't know were it was
ive got a matching set of vintage trusonic cabs with a 15 an 8 and a tweeter in each one .. the serial numbers are very low in the 400s and they are super heavy ....are they worth anything??.. i have owned them for well over 20 years and never use them at all.. thoughts about the trusonic brand ?? is this a good product?
Hi Lenny. I'm 68 years old heading to retirement. I had a pair of Certain Vegas 211s in college. You don't seem interested in this brand. You often mention to contact Just Audio for requests. As a subscriber I request reviews of Certain Vega speakers and willing to pay top dollar for restored 211s. Thank you. Barry
Minus the trying too hard with the tough guy wild rocker image, the vintage gear is cool to see. We already have wacky inflatable tube man from dreameadia.
Actually Far from the best in many ways, but the ultimate test is the owner's perceptions. Here, looks win out over what it sounds like. If that satisfies the customer, so be it, as long as he either understands or doesn't care about the deficiencies.
The best HIFI system does NOT need to be under violet light. And the best speakers are BEOVEOC ones. Certainly not PIONEERS. As for the vinyl reader? THORENS.
You blew it on the caps. Everyone knows the green ones sound the best. Yes, you had to fix all the obvious problems with the components, but it's obvious that this guy doesn't doesn't give a shit about the sound. His only interest is the appearance.
Who called you? Did Chris Stapleton call you and say you owe him money for playing his song on your video? Ha ha This "Keemstar" guy is a lucky dude. I wonder how many thousands of dollars he paid for all that work on two stereo systems?
Side Note: About a Year Ago Am Watching a RU-vid Video At a High End Audio Exhibit in Germany Crazy Super High End Audio Half a Million in one System Set Up with Speaker Cable Over Ten Thousand Bucks.....What i Could Do With 10 Grand .....So The Camera Guy Is Panning The Hall and I See a Guy That Looked Like You Lenny Checking Out The Vintage Vinyl or Records You Smiled and Went About Your Business......Outstanding Lenny You Are Ubiquitous .....Your Next Show is From The North Pole in a Igloo By a Guy Who is in The Federal Witness Protection Program and All He Wants is a Decent Sound System As You Battle a Polar Bear Single Handedly As You Uni/Bog Through The Frozen Tundra of The Arctic Circle @ 66.5 Latitude
Ahem, Ahem. I built the worlds best audio system. It's not for looks, it for sound. The newest piece was made in 1993 from a kit built by me. Why is it the best? Because it works on an entirely different principle that has nothing to do what what audiophiles do, the way they think. I've been playing with this idea for 50 years, patented it. It' was hard to figure out, crazy complex system design, hard to tune to the room, and hard to operate correctly. When it's done right, It doesn't sound anything like what everyone else listens to. It delivers concert hall realism and much more.
I was thinking of doing something like that to a extra pair of hpm 100s i have. I am hooking up a super system with a mint restored maranatz 2325 (125 watts rms ) , a pair of hpm 100s ( 200 watt )versions, a pair of 1st generation Jbl L100 century’s, ( inline drivers ) vintage pioneer cd player and a Phillips 212 turntable ( mine from high school
Analog definitely sounds better than digital primarily compressed digital music. Even the old school big artists like Slash have started going back to recording in Analog by building out an old school analog studio and working with studios that have never been upgraded to digital.
He is a Lucky man. I just had my Studer B67 and Aiwa XKS 7000 serviced ( then my Sony TA 700 es packed up - so thats being repaired ) so far £ 4,000-00 worth every singly penny of my Pension .......
Outstanding Lenny You and Your Team Got My Attention Again This Was a Great Episode The Pace of This Episodic Was on Mark The Visit To The Wood Shop Man Now All We Need is Mr. Carlsons Lab Keep Up The Good Work Love The Energy You Don't Bog Us Down With Nonsense......The Show You Did in Texas Vintage Was Outstanding The Only Draw Back is Because of Ebay and RU-vid We Ended Up Jacking Up The Prices Of This Vintage Equipment Peace
Great job and the best part is the customization is completely reversible. Literally, put the old cover back on and pop the LEDs out of the speaker grills and you've got a sorted, classic Pioneer setup. Can you share who made the relief cut acrylic top?
I love y'all's build videos, but this was amazing! I'm very picky on a budget, and have some very nice pieces, but I have a goal now of that 1980 and get a custom cabinet. Life goals man.
Don’t care what all the haters think. Regardless of your opinion of Keem, this was a great video. Great job! Love to see resto-mods. Car, stereo, toys, jewelry, whatever. If you’ve got the money, go for it.
Good observations. For me this (~10 month in the making) made a perfect intro to the channel with bonus type behind the scenes bits of Keem from a relatable perspective for us OG component collective. :)
KEEMSTAR hit the mother load of awesomeness. Dude has the best taste in vintage speakers. You can't go wrong with a pair of Pioneer HPM 100's for that unique vintage audio sound. The custom main filter caps look great. Funny thing, I'm an average run of the mill vintage audio schmoe yet Just Audio completely updated my Pioneer SX-1980 to be as nice without the super unique specialty addition's. The Christmas morning feeling is NOT unique to KEEMSTAR. If you love vintage audio every receiver or component serviced at Just Audio gives you that Christmas morning new to you experience, I get when picking up my gear. Carl poured lots of hard work into restoring my Sansui G-9000 & my joy balloon has yet to land!
The joke is keem lol he clearly doesn’t know anything about this stuff. He said cassettes have the best sound quality and that vinyl sounds too digital. So thankful these guys destroyed his resale value for when he inevitably breaks it all lol.
I can imagine going from cerwin vega to hpm would have been enough sonically...I have both for different music in different rooms. Well done with the customizing, it's about his $ and his joy. While I like everything original looking, this was great to see him happy in the end.
Pretty nice system, but why he'd put the turntable in the middle like that is beyond me... Awkward! Just asking for trouble there. Pretty cool to see a Technics SA-8000x quad receiver.. I have one that I need to restore actually.
