I agree. I just cut all of my hair off, with exception of an inch or two and have not regretted it. It was long but damaged really bad! It feels good having a healthy head of hair and I'm actually surprised I LOVE the short hair cut so much! I'm gonna focus on moisture and growth.
Lol, last winter was silk press season. So, checks out Everyone whose straightening tutorials I watched ended up with damage of some kind they needed to revive their hair from Me in the same boat 🚣🏾♀️

I'm a 19 year old Nigerian female who recently went natural about a year ago. BUT, I didn't start REALLY taking care of it regularly until a few months ago...when I got my hair done and the lady told me I'm losing hair in the middle. I went cold Turkey on unhealthy hair habits and bought a whole new hair care collection. I bought almost the entire line of AUSSIE MOIST (shout out to Isi) and it is so amazing. My edges have grown and my hair is brimming with life. I haven't used the shampoo or conditioner but I'm very excited to soon. I want to really grow out my hair. I use extra dark jamaican castor oil, the leave in and some vitamin e oil all over my head for growth. Isi helped to break the stigma that African (Nigerian specifically) hair can be long and healthy!
@@lise9539 me either bc it’s mainly west africans who do hair growth videos and i’ve never really seen one with short hair. in fact i don’t think i’ve met any african with short hair cuz they do more natural styles and stuff
Watching from a stylist perspective seeing that there's a little more that needs to come off 😩 Hair Tip: always cut to the "dark" (where the hair isn't transparent anymore) that way all of the bad ends will be gone Another Hair Tip: be sure to take another picture when you're "done" cutting so that you can see if there are any spots you missed 💕
Kate O I agree. When she finished her hair looked much better but I felt she could have cut a little more all round. It still looks great though with that thick head of hair.
IDK about the length, but I know one side has more hair than the other. Like my head isn't really symmetrical and my left side has more hair follicles/pores than my right.

i normally have a very regular trim schedule but the past few months i’ve been too lazy to follow it. a week ago i finally trimmed my hair and i’m telling you healthy hair is so much easier to take care of than non healthy hair. health before length always!!
wild growth has helped so much with my hair growth along with really just leaving it alone and sticking to my “regimen” which is really just keeping it in twists all the time unless i’m really going out somewhere (i MIGHT take the twists out😂)
Girl I had to cut my hair too after I got my first silk press. I’m so sick of having to actually get a hair cut after growing my hair out for a while. I have it bad for wanting to wear my hair out in a twist out all the time. I guess you’re right. Have to do more protective styles because my ends SUFFER. I guess I get annoyed because it’s like what’s the point of having this nice hair if I have to put it away all the time for it to thrive 😩 but I’ll get it together and get on board with the protective styles
I understand your viewpoint. I have been wearing my hair in protective styles for nine years. I trim my ends if needed when I install my two strand twists.

Could be several reasons like the way you part it, your style or even the way you sleep to name a few. Also keep in mind most of us have multiple textures on our heads. My crown always grows fastest. . . Maybe that's just the way it grows
@@e.quinney8386- Not manipulating my hair was the key. So yes I looked like Cleo all the time. Wig season is a must, braids and a wig is a must. The more manipulation and hair you have out… the more it breaks off.

here's something I started doing to release stress and pressure on my edges when I cornrow my hair for wigs. - part a small section in the front of your hair. Then part that section in two (vertically). Then, cornrow each side, could be 2-4 braids depending on how thick the section/your hair is. Cornrow the hair you left out, as usual (make sure to add the ends of the anchor braids.) This method is amazing cuz all the weight of your hair is no longer on your edges. It's distributed a few iinches back where your hair is usually less fragile.

I truly feel your pain even loosing a little length, I felt the same way when I recently clipped my ends recently. Stay consistent like you do and it will grow back fast!
I have no idea how to trim my own ends and I'm so scared to let others do it. I usually plait my hair into like mini plants or twists and trim where I think needs to be trimmed

I just had to cut mine on Sunday. My ends were a mess. Never seen so many single strand knots before. In the past I would have felt devastated but I felt so liberated after. Easy to detangle, wash day was a breeze. Getting back to giving it love.

I’m cutting my hair soon too 😭😭. She just hasn’t been approving my actions as of lately. She and I are ready for a fresh a start, and I’ve always wanted to do a short look since I was like 16. The middle of my hair is the shortest cause initially when i was born i had a temple fade so my momma paid alot more attention to my sides and my middle kinda got neglected

Girl I used to trim my ends myself allll the time but my hair got longer and thicker so now I go get them cut !I applaud you because I would have stopped at the first section 😭.
I love the wild hair growth oil, but I use it how the instructions say and my hair is never crunchy or brittle feeling when I'm trying to detangling after washing. It says to add drops from the yellow bottle to your shampoo application, rinse. Then when you condition to add the white bottle with your conditioner and rinse if necessary (depends on leave-in or rinse out). I love it and swear by it. Hair been growing effortlessly, even my edges which I was wary about when I had my knotless braids in. I miss watching Isi do her hair!! My gosh. 💕

Hi beautiful. Every time I watch a trimming video I am so tempted to trim my own hair and 9/10 times the scissors are in my hand and I'm trimming. I think sometimes in just in my head that I need a trim lol. I used to have bra strap length hair then because of videos like yours I'm now shoulder length. I'm 16 and i have a decent amount of hair for my age but it needs a huge cut and I am dreading it. I have started my hair growth journey last year November and it has grown a lot but I need a trim. Your ends look so much better after the trim. I just trimmed mine last week. Cut six inches off; depression in 2020 took a toll on my haircare practices. It's in good shape now and all I have to do is keep it that way.

I know you probably filmed this in advance to posting, but one thing I’ve been trying to get into the habit of is moisturizing your braids by spritzing water on them and then sealing with an oil (when you want to re moisturize them). Because the water is what is actually going to be adding moisture back into the braids ✨
My hair is uneven on my right side but that’s because I became lazy my first time cutting my ends and never went back to cut the left 😂 and that was yeaars ago!!
