The community FB group that complained that it was an eyesore should gather a team of volunteers to keep it tidy. It’s THEIR community. It’s awesome that you take care of so many eyesores! God bless you.

I think you should put up a sign saying that this property was complementary mowed by and put your name . Then add for people to pass it on and show kindness to someone else.

Good job. In our city, Code Enforcement would give the owners of the property three written notices to clean it up. If it is not done with X amount of time, the city crews will do it and then the city would put a lien on the property. The city doesn't play here.

You are absolutely correct, it only takes one person to get it started. When I’m walking my dog, I always take a plastic grocery bag and pick up trash along the way. I am happy to see others in my community doing the same now. If everyone picked up some here and there it all adds up. And most importantly if people had more respect for others they would not litter. Many years ago Lady Bird Johnson the presidents wife started a campaign to Keep America Beautiful and do not be a litter bug.

Should drive by in two weeks and see if anyone maintained it. City should maintain it and bill the owner of the property. Deadbeat owners should be forced to take care of their vacant property. Maintain it and add the cost to their tax bill.

Sitting and complaining about something and doing nothing about the issue is just adding more hot air to the climate change. Maybe those complaining should split costs for upkeep until someone takes over the property. If they can't help...don't complain. Thank you Brian for your heart ❤

Maybe instead of complaining, the "community" needs to get off their lazy behinds, show up once or twice a month with mowers, edgers, garbage bags, etc and clean the eyesores up. Problem solved.

I agree! It starts with one person. I got tired of seeing trash all over my neighborhood and started doing something about it. About 3 years ago, I started with a dustpan and broom, cleaning up everything in a three block area, about once or twice a week. Other people started taking notice, and began picking up trash themselves, or not littering. I think it's starting as a movement in our communities. One small step at a time! Fantastic inspiration!

I'm watching you do this and I can feel the sting of dirt and tiny pebbles as they hit your legs. I can also feel the grit in my mouth. This is one hot,hard,dirty job. To do this for free is admirable but also nuts. It is good advertising for you but are you taking advantage? You really do get satisfaction on a job well done. Compared to other jobs, this is almost immediate satisfaction. Thank God for new equipment. I remember my dad using an edger- the foot powered kind! Kudos. Stay safe. Please wear a mask or a face shield.

I use to rent a lot and cleaned up plenty of yards and houses. I did it because I love a clean yard and blooming flowers! I love the satisfaction of seeing what can be if someone will just do the work. I appreciate this man and his crew and especially of his son, hard worker! I thank this man for helping the elderly and people who can not do what he does for whatever reason, thank you again from an elderly handicapped 74 year old woman!!

You are sooo right about it starts with one person. Someone posted on our Nextdoor website about a horrible lawn. I replied, got an address and drove over. It was a house sitting on four building lots. When I started mowing, the neighbors started trickling out. They'd been afraid of being charged with trespassing so I pointed out that the city would mow it and charge the property owner for each individual lot. They had been running off squatters and drug dealers, calling in the police. They were definitely keeping an eye on the property just afraid to mow. The first people to talk to me came back with their mowers (and yard debris bins) and suddenly we had 10/12 people mowing and raking. It took us about 4 hours to mow waist-high grass, rake and bag it.

You are so wonderful!! Let's hope that the community sees this and helps out in the future!

Thank you for kindness, i live in new york and is very difficult to keep this place clean , people here trash everything and there's few that cares In my neighborhood i pick up garbage i want in from of my building to be clean. The best thing to do is star doing it ourselves, the city or city worker's waste time fooling around doing nothing

Turned out amazing!!! That was auch needed knock out. I'm really shocked the city hadn't mowed it and sent the bills to the owner of the building/lot, unless 1) it's under bankruptcy, 2) it's on a side street that no one really travels except home owners, so it doesn't look so bad for folks traveling thru town or 3) Just lazy city employees (with today's world it doesn't surprise me). Thank you for volunteering your time, equipment and own money to do that project. Really will make a HUGE difference to the people that live in that neighborhood!!!!

I know Covid has created a lot of holes in the economy but surely there is a city ordinance about weeds and the property owner of the bank should done that work. You did good though.

Nice job but, you need to get one of those 40" reacher grabber thingies. I think Depot even sells em. It'll help your back out while picking up all that random trash into the bag.
