Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band-a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation-a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

I'm 59 years young.I was born in 1964. I remember the late 1960's and when the Rev.Dr.Martin Luther King was assassinated in 1968. I have never so many elders and Great Grandparents cry. This affected my soul for the rest of my life and days on this Earth 🌍. I realized what it means to be blessed enough to have had these people in my life, and what it means to be black and a man in America. I loved Etta and was fortunate to see her perform many, many times all over the place over the years (I'm 58). I was deeply saddened by her death, so much so I chose not to watch her televised funeral. Her music did many things for me and took me many places. Thank you...thank you...thank you.. all of you, for doing this for her....and yes... "R.I.P. Sweet Lady."

How could anyone give this a thumb down? He sang just short of his whole heart leaping out of his mouth. He sang, not only with soul but with such passion. The female vocal was just as incredible. Together they made my ears cry ( in a good way) Wow! I listened to it 3 times in a row. Please continue. We need this at this time. Chicken soup for the heart and soul.

Clarence pretty much became the 'lead voice' of PFC once Roger Ridley died (after they began with Roger's covers of so many great songs. Roger sang and played his guitar on the Santa Monica Pier. Mark Johnson and his brother 'discovered' him there - and as film makers couldn't pass by without recording him, he was so good. You need to go back to 'Stand By Me', the very first video to see how it worked (and look at the 'behind the scenes' video) to show how they achieved it. It's pulse-pounding and exciting, will make you rethink how we look at music in America. They had recorded so many of Roger's songs, so even when he died, they kept on - adding in more musicians they found in other countries. Then Clarence became the singer onstage during the PFC Band's tour, but he had already appeared in videos as had Titi (with dark hair). It's fun looking back to see how young they were, and how much they've all grown. Every musician and singer is wonderful, while PFC Foundation has touched people across the world and built music schools in Africa, done so much for underserved communities and children. Lots of famous musicians have been attached along the way as well, even helping doing covers of their own songs.

@@Itsaloloday they are musicians, some from the US, most from other countries, all gathered together back then to tour around the US AS the Playing for Change Band. I don't know if they're still touring. Check the website.
