the effort that goes into your videos is never unappreciated. it's a breath of fresh air. It seems most people just hit record and race to get the content out fast. you will go far!
Thanks! I'm taking my time on this one, I would like to get a few dozen hours under my belt and then I'm going to start making some building and tutorial videos. But I want to make sure I have a good understanding of the game before I try to start teaching others
Streaming tip: Don't look too close at Virginia when it's raining, that white bathing suit does what you think it would. Kelvin takes a break when he's tired, but he only rests until he gets the bare minimum of stamina back. You have to tell him to take a break to get him to do a full rest. Try chucking spears at the big guys. You can carry more than 1 by the way. That river is too shallow to float logs down. You told Kelvin to stay here, you need to tell him stay at shelter to make him stay home. (And I believe he loses orders if you reload the game, so he might start off after you) That camouflage suit is for Virginia I believe. Wanna see something fun, present your cross at some cave cannibals. (I'm not sure who all it is effective against since I only saw it used in a darkened cave). OMG that motor blowing was funny.
The building montage in your previous video took an enormous amount of work and skill. Wow. And the audio effects on your voice overs for caves and explosions etc. is a nice touch. I thought I had my "Sons of the Forest" coverage handled but you certainly earned a subscription.
Tip: So long as you don't take the dried meat off the drying rack it won't spoil, it will show up as though it has spoiled but removing or eating it resets it back to dried meat. Also, spoiled meat can be recooked back into cooked meat

Don't go near Virginia. The more chill and pulled back you are with her the faster she will join you. When you approach her she does not like that. Great series so far.
Get multiple drying racks and have Kelvin gather fish, Meat and fish racks for when you're off exploring and you'll have plenty of food for when you return...also for winter. Winter does come about every 10 days or so and lasts a few days.
if you get the rope gun you can connect one side where you are chopping wood to a place close to the house, you can slide logs through it, put log storages underneath where the logs fall, it autostores
you can use Ziplines to transport logs, over long distances you don't have to try using rivers then and once your finished logging you can use the zipline to get back to your base so quicker travel as well,
fun tip: I created this move that me and my friend call the flying squirrel and if executed correctly if will chop both the arms and/or legs, and head of your enemy. You must jump of a rock or structure and do the heavy attack with the modern axe or firefighter axe and land on the head of a canibol or mutant.
Set up a zip line and send the logs down the zip line. It is the most efficient method. Not sure if Calvin can do it that way but I believe he will relocate them after they arrive if not that you should need that service at that point. The zip line goes a really long way too. I’m building a zip line network to go all the way around the island quickly without walking.the sled is maybe bugged? It results in invulnerability from all fall damage if you’re riding it.
Just some tips: You can zoom in and out in your GPS by pressing the middle mouse button. Also, its better if you build a log holder and ask Kelvin to fill them, because he usually picks up your dropped logs from literally next to the place where he should put it and just wasting time with that. IDK about that, but in the begining, I didn't kill any Cannibals, and they were just like jumping around me all the time. Also, you should collect heads, put down a stick in the ground, fortify it with 3 rocks and put a head on it. I already have like 4-5 and there is not much cannibals at the base. And one more thing, you can jump on the tarp after setting up the camp, you can chop it down to tarp again, so you can build it, save and after that get the tarp back.
3:12 Nice celtic background music. That and building this wooden settlement, reminds me of the ancient and medieval Irish settlements. Back when Ireland was a forest Island, with a few natural clearings on the hill tops. Cutting down trees with literal stone axes was no joke. Hence why there was a lot of settlements in natural clearings in the forests. Anyway, just side side history. Great work Temreki and Kelvin. Doing great.
Graves need shovel, maintenance A,B,C, require the shovel, to get shovel you need rebreather and air tanks, the rope gun allows traversing ravines and sending logs like long line logging.
I know you're trying to give advice, but this is called backseat gaming and literally everything you've mentioned I've already done or done in future episodes
i was just thinking that adding some ranged cannibals would seriously increase the fun of battle. it seems absurd that they wouldn't have bow and arrow technology, and that they don't dodge or react when we draw down on them.
22:36 I think that's the location of the shotgun if I'm not mistaken. But yeah the shovel is one of the most important tools in the game and also the rope gun. I'd prioritize those next since the cannibals are starting to armor up now. Also, I would try and memorize 1 or 2 bunkers on the map so you don't get caught outside when it's dark.
YOU CAN put a campfire underneath the ungrabable nanibals, just put sticks under them and light it anywhere ya want xdxd. We do it a lot to canibals that are still alive on the ground asking for mercy. xdxd
You did in fact miss a unique weapon when you searched the helicopter. It’s actually on part of the beach you did not explore. It’s not better than the axe but you’re a bit of a completionist.
I'm not sure yet whether or not the trees grow back, but the stumps definitely do, which is actually really annoying, cause they'll grow back through your floor if you build where they were.
i started a new game, just to see whats up, and i havnt attacked anyone and the cannibals were in my base just being threatening but not actually attacking. they would run up to me and run away. i could walk right up to them, they block and walk away, but havent attacked. Virginia and Kelvin are just running around in fear, but i got like 6 cannibals and 4 of the monkey guys in my base just grunting at me. i am ignoring them for the moment and continuing to build.
Love the intro and outro. Good choice. I had a balst with the game and planning to play another session with more challenges. Quite the game with lots of details done right. Hope its fun for you as it was for me.
Loving your content on this game! I've binged so many hours into it already and now on a berry hunt across map. You never know what the update brings. Also tip you may already know, lower your weapon when taming Virginia. Look forward to more vids! INVESTED!
I've been consistently impressed with the little details they put into this game. The sea turtles laying eggs that you can pick up and eat or watch hatch into baby turtles. Cannibals walking up and knocking on the door to my house while I'm watching from a distance. My only gripe has been the default settings feel like an infinite wave of cannibals attacking you from day one, leaving little time to do anything else.
I’m day 26 on my game , never really progressed threw the campaign, and I always combatted the cannibals , now I get raided every 10ish minutes with anywhere from 5-10 enemies 😅
Knowing how much a full set of scuba gear weighs in real life, it's amazing how much this guy can carry. Not as unreal as 7 days, where one 4x4 is one inventory slot, but still kinda super human. Not complaining though. It's just a game and realistic weight limits wouldn't be as fun.
I've been watching clips of sons of the forest and watching kelvin chop down a treehouse and give a thumbs up is by far my most favorite thing about the open beta P.s. don't use repair hammer on a pile of firewood

Love this Game, Love The Series. I sure wish they would fix it so the trees would come back.. REALLY REALLY!!! This game is now My Fav. Real Survival is a plus!!! The environment is AMAZING TOO! The Spiffing Brit's video, exploit aside, shows how shallow the game is - feel it's so early access that the reason you're facing so many cannibals is to keep you pinned down and keep the illusion of the game being full of content and story. Eye candy over substance, at the moment.
