if someone has a different view that doesn't make him a Judas..If you live in Nigeria, you will see that Igbos have invested in a lot in Yorubaland and Hausaland to an extent Igbo cannot even leave some Northern part of Nigeria where there is terrorism..Many Yorubas have left since the first Jos crisis in the 90's..You know you guys always say, we are cowards but I always say we place high value on life..Cos, when there is life, there is hope.My mom said even if I get 10million naira/mth job in those hot Northern areas, she will never allow me to go..if influential Igbos really want Biafra, they need to strategically start creating Biafra inside Nigeria..Not in a form of treason..How? Move all their investments to Eastern region, invest in Igboland, create jobs for their people..Imagine an Igbo man with all his investments in Ibadan will only build a wonderful mansion in Igboland..no one will be living inside the mansion except Christmas time.That's all he did for his people. ..If Igbo leave now, all those business men will lose almost all because the remaining Nigeria will place them on tough international trade policies that will make them go with almost nothing.. That's why no influential Igbo buy into the idea.If they want it, they should start now. They should make Igboland attractive to an extent that, a typical Yoruba guy will wake in the morning and tell his parent that he's going to Enugu to look for job..Honestly, Igbo business men can do this. Lot of billionaires Igbo scatter in SW and North. Also, before Igbo leaves, let them start criticizing their corrupt leaders. Cos, these guys will want to also rule in the Biafra nation and if these same set of guys rule, the situation will be even worse. I am talking in a perspective of a Yoruba guy who loves diversity cos I've lived in many SW cities where Igbos and other ethnic groups were my neighbors..I love to know how others think and why they think the way they think..May be sociology will be my final life's career..I wish I marry from other ethnic group or different nationality cos diversities always make me a better person. It is unfortunate the extent some people would go to make a deliberate point based on asine logic whenever the issue of Igbos obvious discontentment in Nigeria is discussed. Instead of some of these people, most of them - non Igbos, devoting their valuable time and find creative ways to offer tangible and credible convincing arguments without resorting to reducing the legitimate aspirations of the Igbos to mere consignments of commercial interests only - as if we are not aware of the implications and the adverse impact our insistence demand for Biafra on our investments in other parts of Nigeria. We know all about that. We don't need to be intimidated by the threat of the loss of our investments or use it as a convenient tool to deter us. Those are material things that can be replaced. Let me remind the writer that there was a time in Nigeria when the Igbos lost all they had invested in Nigeria and more, yet they summoned their irrepressible spirit for existence and their indomitable penchant for perseverance and used them to excel and succeed against all odds. Now, if anyone out there who believes that the threat of the loss of investments will be enough to discourage the Igbos, those individuals need their heads examined! The issue, as far as the Igbos are concerned, goes beyond mere desire for Biafra. We have assessed and dissected Nigeria for more than the 100 years of its existence and its 56 years functioning as a sovereign and independent country that Nigeria has gone beyond redemption, and that those who nurse the notion of an indivisible country do so out of emotional degradation. They are indeed in futile love with an illusion, a mirage, a façade that can never come to fruition. I challenge these flight by night arm chair pundits, who praise their native traits of limited integration as a factor of intelligence and knowledge which run contrary to building a vibrant united Nigeria, to do a tenth of the efforts Igbos have made towards the integration of Nigeria. And I will dare to ask them this question, if every tribe and every ethnic group chooses to live and develop their native land only, what manner of country will Nigeria be? These people especially my friends from the Yoruba tribe, are always quick to remind Igbos of their investments in other parts of Nigeria, and then use it as a reference point to highlight their own political prudence why they don't venture investments in other parts of Nigeria. It is obvious from their stance that their commitment to Nigeria is shallow and non committal at best. So when I see them at the helm championing the opposition against Igbos quest for self determination, it only reinforces my belief that they are all afraid of the prospect of a Nigeria with the Igbos. I hope those Igbos who invest in other areas of Nigeria should listen to the advice and go back home in live for Nigeria is just "a mere geographical expression," as the great Yoruba, Awo himself, declared.
