You have a new fan. First saw your rendition of Amazing Grace and subscribed. As you are hearing loud and clear, we love your voice. I am the exact opposite of you. I have been a Christian all of my life and considered being a nun, too polite. As I shared your video I wrote sometimes it takes a man like you to make us see. God is using you. We could tell you felt that song. It was so powerful and emotional.
I agree@carolynharwood. I was raised full on Christian, with a father AND grandfather preaching in this church. It was my world as I knew, until my dad died when I was 11 years old. Then I went off kilter. This music has always been close to my heart, and I full on weeped when I heard this version of Amazing Grace!!! I had listened to about 15 of Dan’s songs, without subscribing to his channel, until Amazing Grace!❣️❤️🙏🏼😘‼️
You are open; honest; articulate; personable; talented; unique and I’m so happy I have found you on RU-vid. I LOVE your spiritual/ religious covers and hopefully there will be more. I am a 76 year old woman who has been a Christian since I was 10 years old. I find you very intriguing. God bless you as you move forward in your life……. ❤️
@@kaye_dee_did- Yes, it’s become so common, and some people don’t realize that it’s blasphemy, especially new Christians who weren’t raised in a Christian household. I’ve sometimes lovingly explained to others what it is.
@@kaye_dee_did Yes! I was surprised by that, too, since he's done religious covers so beautifully. Today, I was listening to a sermon by Jack Hibbs and he was saying that if he is at a movie and they say "Jesus" or "Jesus Christ" in vain, he follows up with "Is Lord!" out loud. Crack me up. I was doing a task while listening to this video and when he said, "Jesus Christ," I paused, then said, "Is Lord." I'm going to start doing that!
@@nadogrl that's true. It took me about a year after being saved to stop cussing and another year to remember not to say OMG. I have to say something, though. I usually replace it will Holy cow or Criminey. My 11 year old son thinks Criminey is a cuss word.
I'm sorry that your dad didn't live to see you become successful, but I'm sure he's very proud and happy for you. You've brought so much joy into our lives and you must keep going because your talent is amazing. BTW, I love Jordan Peterson too. He's so brilliant, I've never seen him lose an argument with anyone. You must check out some of the interviews he's done. Love from Amanda in Australia
I just want to say....recently found your totally awesome videos....I'm sold. Not only do you sing like no other, you are smart, witty, handsome and well spoken. Hearing you sing is an experience.
I was actually stunned by Dan's personality test results. He seems *SO* engaging, witty, and personable, and agreeable (to a point, lol). I think i can say that we're all *so happy* that you've shared yourself with us to understand you better as a person, what makes you, YOU. It takes a lot of guts to share that much about yourself to complete strangers, but then again, we apparently *ALL* feel you to be a wonderful person...with a few quirks. 😘😅❤
Thank you Dan I'm that 81year old lady who fancy s you 😂I had breast cancer 1 year ago and been feeling Down you have made me realise I still have a life and need to start living again Thank you from my heart 😊
I have learned happiness is a feeling that comes and goes depending on your circumstances. Now JOY is a solid decision you choose no matter of your circumstances. I also fight cancer and let that take my JOY away until I realized what am I doing to myself. Why should I let sadness dominate me. I made a choice no matter what happens in my life I’m going to choose JOY. yes I have down days but so much easier to pull out of that. My purpose is to spread that JOY which comes with my relationship that comes of Jesus Christ. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏😃😄😁
Enjoyed seeing the man behind the voice ...and learning to make our choices wisely...you only get one life ...live it well ...saying that I've made a lot of whopping mistakes in mine 😂
My heart goes out to you man. I went through a similar experience when I lost my dad. It was a week and half before I was to play my last show with my band and I was start up college. After that I just fell right into a slump and wound up working a terrible job I hated just to pay bills. It was around that time I started getting into people like Dr Peterson and I even saw him live with Dave Rubin and Candace Owens a few years ago when he was talking about 12 Rules for life. It would still be about another year until I started getting better but I eventually quit that job, got a better one, met a great girl, and I’m in a much better place now. Thank you so much for sharing and you’re not alone out there man!
Thank you, Dan. You are such a lovely, open and giving human being that I find it extremely touching to receive the gift of your realizations of self, of your sharing so freely the struggles that you have gone through, and also your successes with us. I started following you because I love your voice and passion as well as the variety of songs that you perform, but the more I get to know you, the more I enjoy the well-rounded content that you deliver to your subscribers. I just recently started following you on Facebook and I just learned that you also have an Instagram channel, so I will be heading there shortly. I admire you and appreciate you immensely, Dan. Thank you for being you and for allowing us to share in this fantastic adventure called LIFE! Much love from America ❣❣❣💋💋💋
The first video I watched of yours was Amazing Grace. It definitely shows you kept up with your workouts. There were also times when you stood strong with your chest out which I find very powerful. I also feel you have a degree of humility shown by your willingness to share your test with us. Very cool. Thanks. I'll check out the test.
OMG Dan your music is phenomenal. But your personality and what you have to say on life outweighs it by a thousand times! Thanks for being there for us as a person not just an artist!
Another new fan here!! Your voice and stage presence are remarkable. But beyond that, there's this refreshing transparency that overflows to me as I listen to you share who you are. Dan, keep walking the path of attainment. ❤
Something we can all benefit from!! Thank you for sharing Dan ❤ I would love to sit down and have some conversation with you! You’re funny, goofy, smart, and straight to the point… and we can’t ignore your creativity!!!
The one thing I relate the most to is the sentence: "They are just feelings". Feelings only matter as much as you let them. Once aware of this, you can prioritize them. Like me listening to the Amazing Grace cover; I just let the feelings do their thing. Then I repeat. When my son of 19 months is being an asshole for hours on end, I suppress my feelings, because I know nothing good will ever come out of the frustration and anger I feel, and they cannot be allowed to have ANY hand in my decisions, or my son would be injured and I would be in prison. Positive and negative emotions, they will pass eventually, and how you handle them is paramount. Let the good ones loose, and beat down the bad ones. As mentioned in the video, you CAN train yourself to do this, although only negative and uncomfortable emotions were mentioned. You can do positive ones too. I do it by repetition and recollection, but I'm sure there are more ways.
I struggle with the same two traits: very low conscientousness and very high neuroticism, so it is very motivating to hear that you were able to change these so well in your life!! :)
I'm so glad that I found your channel a few weeks ago. You are so special and I'm very sorry for your father's passing. I lost my parents at the same time at a young age, so I can empathize with you. Anyone who can sing 'Amazing Grace' like you do is a man of God! Much love and success to you!🌈❤
Your kind and loving remarks about your father mean a lot, because I have built aa great relationship with my father after 45 years. Jordan Peterson helped me find a way through the darkness and bipolar 2 disorder that has plagued my life for decades. I love your music, man.
Your honest…and your “out there”! You are exactly the best friend a person can have! You take some persistent effort to get to know but… WOW! You are worth all that effort and more. Thank you! 🥰
@@DanVasc His book meant a lot to me too. A lot of it seems like very simple advice, but it's advice that most people don't seem to follow. Like making sure your house is in order before criticizing others and not expending your effort on fixing other people while your own room is a mess. I have a new creative career because of that advice.
Man when you were talking about orderliness and politeness (around 17:35), it reminded me of an experience I recently had. In my country, New Zealand, we have a youth development course run by the New Zealand Defense Force and the Ministry of Social Development. It's a six week long course that aims to get people between the ages of 18 - 24 (although there are certain exceptions for people who are 17 or 25) ready for employment with a wide variety of employment related skills such as writing CV's and cover letters, job interview skills, and so forth, all while getting a taste of the military lifestyle (minus the weapons and combat training, which makes a lot of sense when you consider that a lot of the trainees come from backgrounds where there is a lot of drugs, violence, and organized crime). I went on the course at first to see if I could get my foot in the door for the Royal New Zealand Navy, since I'd been medically declined due to an old injury that still troubles me occasionally. I had to shift my perspective on this about halfway through the course when the doctor told me that I needed to get my injury revisited and fixed properly before the Navy would even look at my application again. Anyway, on to the important part of the annecdote. In my Platoon, we had a junior NCO - a Leading Marine Technician (Propulsion) - who had the catch phrase 'don't run your own routine.' I swear, the whole lot of us twenty eight trainees from 1 Platoon who graduated were absolutely sick of hearing 'don't run your own routine.' We heard in during drill. We heard it during CT (Corrective Training, supposedly not a punishment, but it sure as hell felt like it!). We heard it when we were being chewed out for missing timings and being late. We heard it A LOT! Running your own routine is being non-compliant with higher authority, preferring to do things your way no matter the consequences. you really do seem to run your own routine, Dan. Not that that's a bad thing in your context. The other thing I remember vividly was something my Platoon Commander - a Chief Petty Officer who started his career as a medic before changing trades to become a PTI - said as he was ripping strips off me for not making my bed in time. he said to me, "Van Steel, you want to be a Weapon Engineer Officer in the Navy, right?" "Yes, Staff." I answered as I ran around like a headless chicken, trying to get the hospital corners on my pit just right. "Weapon Engineer Officers have one of the most important roles in the Navy. During combat or combat training exercises, the Weapon Engineer Officer takes command of the ship. They are responsible for the safety of everyone on board." Chief explained, continuing to chew me out for not meeting the standard. "Do you know what an officer does, Van Steel?" Chief asks. "He meets the standard, Staff!" I answer. "He SETS the standard." Chief corrected. It was that moment that became the biggest kick up the arse I've ever had in my life. How could I be expected to do well in my dream job - a job with an absolutely monumental amount of responsibility - where I have to be reliable enough to set the standard, when I couldn't even meet the standard expected of me during a watered down version of military life? You seem to absolutely loathe doing what other people tell you to. you'd be what the staff at the Limited Service Volunteer course would call 'non-compliant' at times. You'd definitely get CT a lot for running your own routine. However, you're extremely conscientious and assertive, and it makes me wonder what you (as you are now) would be like as a commissioned officer, setting the standard rather than meeting someone else's. The Brazilian Army lost something valuable when they let you go after your compulsory service, Dan. Their loss, our gain. To anyone who's read this far, 1) cheers, mate. you're a bloody legend! 2) wtf, man! go watch more of Dan's videos!
This was... the most inspiring thing I've seen in a while! Thank you so much for sharing this about yourself, and also your comments and thoughts, it's very nice to see how you deal with your own "cards" and I'm hopeful that most of us should be capable of it too with just a little self-analysis! I'm also more motivated now to go on with my training and pick my hobbies back up :DD
This is a very courageous thing to do and share, to encourage others to be self aware. Well done young Man! The courage to look One's self in the mirror is a RARE Courage in this time. Well done.
Aloha Dan, Am so impressed with the awesomeness of you. As I have been with your talents too. My twin boys are 36 and the most important thing I am so grateful for is that they are very good and intelligent men. You remind me of them. I do hope that you enjoy an abundance of love and support from your family and friends. You deserve it. I am sure your father is residing in Heaven and is filled with pride for you. ❤ 21:15 Thank you for the pleasure your talents, and for sharing yourself so beautifully. Marie, Honolulu, Hawaii
"Think to the best version of you that you can imagine, and become even better, one step at a time, no matter how little." A quote from my great granddad, I feel that you truly embody these words.
Hey Dan, you're a cool guy who knows what he wants and where he wants to go in life. Your dad would be very, very proud of you. Believe me....somewhere he is watching over you. Keep up the good work.... always moving forward. I ❤ your voice and thank you for giving and still giving me strength along the way. Thank you.🤘🏻 I think I will take the test sometime. I am excited about the results but also a little scared.
I found your channel last year, but until now i watch and listen to this video. Dan, please continue on your dreams. Your voice is a gift and certainly you are a gift to everyone.
Do music that is outside your comfort zone. Like traditional music or Country or RnB, even jazz. You have to do something that makes one uncomfortable. It's enlightening.
@@DanVasc I'd like to see you covering newer bands like Skull Fist, Midnight Dice, Venator, Eternal Champion, Blackslash or Blood Star, but it's almost impossible to find someone who can play these songs.
This was very encouraging! I only checked more into you Dan after listening to you amazingly sing Amazing Grace! I pray that you genuinely allowed those lyrics pierce your heart and are walking daily with Jesus Christ - the One you were singing about. I am a singer as well who has lost my ability due to vocal tremors - praying He will restore it, as I love to worship. May His peace abound in your heart as you seek Him.
You are awesome! I'm just turning 69 and I've always been afraid of heavy metal music. T9 me it was very upsetting because of all the screaming and I felt threatened by the aggression that came from the music. Because of you I am able to see the person behind the music and I love that. Your voice is amazing and you are and are soon interesting!!! Thank u so much! I am following you forevermore .😊
Dan thanks for sharing yourself in all the ways that you do. So many truths here. This video came as a great inspiration at the right time, even though it is two years old. Keep flying high and straight with your amazing discipline and perceptions, a shining example for all. Another life lesson learned, be careful for what you ask for. You are on the trajectory for greatness shared with the inspirations of Eric Adams, Jon Bon Jovi, Steven Tyler, Pavarotti...etc and further. You're proof 'where much is given, much is asked'. May love and protection always be yours and with you.
Walk with God and our blessed mother to keep yourself centered and on the wagon. The world needs your voice and videos. Your so young please seek pure goodness and strength from the our Lord.
An impressive young man Dan Vasc. I was first impressed with your singing (would like to see you compete on Brazil's Got Talent or AGT), and after this reveal, I'm really impressed with you, not the test results so much, but with an articulate, intelligent, and open hearted man. Keep singing and talking; hopefully enough are listening and hearing you sufficiently to change their lives into productive lives.
Thank you for sharing your "Personality Test"...I think you are a fine upstanding young man...your dad is proud of you, because I believe that when we cross over to the other side, our loved ones can see us and are happy for us. We all have lessons in this life to learn, and you had to learn yours "your way"...I truly believe that God gave you the voice you have for a reason...you bring such joy to me when I watch your videos...ESPECIALLY...AMAZING GRACE...I love that song more now than I ever did before. NO ONE will ever sing it like you Dan!!! You were given a gift from God, so use it well and always give thanks to Our Father in Heaven...God loves you and so do I...Carolyn
Big Hello to Brazil from little old England! I am here from Friday Night Tights! .... Anyway my Dad died last year from cancer. He was bed ridden from an amputated leg. He also had bowl/stomach cancer so he could not eat. I watched him starve to death. I did my best to "step up" to the man who raised me. I tried my best to be the strongest person at his funeral. Jordan was right on that front. Nonetheless I will always remember my beautiful father's last words to me "You did good girl". X x
Hi Dan! I just recently found your channel through your Amazing Grace video. Exquisite! I just wanted to thank you for sharing your gift and for this video about not being stuck...that we can change our behaviors and our outcomes. Dr. Peterson is a very knowledgeable guide. Continue to pursue your dreams. You have shown us all that you are determined to reach your goals!
My first time Dan having the pleasure of your magical voice, Amazing Grace was played as we laid my Mum to rest. I just wish I had heard your version first, you made me 😢 as I thought of my Mum dancing with angels to a Rock God's 🎸 rendition of Amazing Grace. Thanks Dan and keep doing an amazing job of other artists music your way, I'm 62 now and it take a lot to move me. However your voice is on another level, I'd love to see you live doing this. Tricia F xx ❤
Wow, not what I expected to see from you, but I'm glad I did! I really hope you don't get targeted by the people who hate Dr. Peterson for this. Be strong and carry on! \\m// Love from Canada!
@@DanVasc Your Manowar covers got me to subscribe, this video got me to click the notification bell! Thanks for bringing some light to my otherwise dark day. Cheers!
I thought about this as soon as I remembered who it was. He says some controversial stuff, but he also has a fringe following whose beliefs get attributed to be his ideas. It's funny that there is a strong cultural shift about what it means to be a dude and how we should act. But there's very little about how to change from what we were exposed to as a definition of masculinity. Then when someone focuses on self help or self evaluation for men they catch hell for being "exclusionary".
@@mr.farrowsclass6592 he doesn’t say controversial stuff. Everything he says he backs it up with evidence. For example his interview with the British lady. He said “a company can go 50-50 women and men engineers, but you can’t do that on a wide scale because there aren’t 50-50 engineers it’s more like 90-10.” That’s not controversial
Thank you Dan. You put yourself out there. I can completely appreciate that. I’m a pushover and at 70 years I’m finally trying to stop that. It is very hard. I will keep trying!! 😅
You may wish to try the book Personality Plus by Florence Littauer, which also has a personality test in it. I found it to be more accurate and far less negative in tone when discussing personality weaknesses as well as tips for improvement. It also helped me deal with other people by simply noticing that what's in that person that's driving me crazy is simply a part of their personality and not that person going out of their way to be difficult.
You've got a new fan from South Africa. I'll be 70 years old soon and you've just given me the opportunity to get my son into reading these books. Amazing Grace.....👌 just awesome the way you do it.
I am assertive and been nominated as the leader in my class when graduated from that in my forties. I had not seen myself as a leader, but then realized actually that I am. I am quick to make decisions. I am quick to act, and I do so with authority and taking charge especially in a crisis moment. By that I mean someone having a heart attack a seizure being a burn victim, and I will jump into action, take charge rendered and get further assistance while barking out orders. I am also very curious now about this personality test. I am in my late 60s now. I just discovered you on RU-vid a few days ago and I have gone down the rabbit hole on RU-vid of listening to your music. I have shared your music with quite a few people in the last few days. I am a huge fan and so appreciate the music, the videos and right now listening to you, express your journey wishing you all success and happiness bravo.Thank you for sharing your diagnostics. I Am going to check it out. You are talented; intelligent, hardworking. Keep being you.
I love how you interact with your fans! My brother passed away from cancer as well. We were so close. He was so good and funny and I miss him terribly. He is the only man who never let me down. 😢
You have 1 result of your vdeo here, it truly inspired me to change. I have been struggling with my orderlessness, have been impeded much in productivity You couldve been a hopeless addict on the street somewhere, but here you are now, your whole existence has been the sum of all the determination & hard works to grow & do things useful for humanity. Respect from Indonesia
Such great information in this test. And your interjections of further explanation or examples was absolutely eye-opening. You are very in-tune to yourself and wise beyond your years. Some may never be able to achieve that level for so many reasons as evidenced by the test.
Your dad will be dancing in heaven to your songs now, I'm sure he is proud of how much you continue grow each year, as a person and professional musician 😊
Dan my lovely, thank you for sharing your results, with all of your fans. Not many rock stars would have something so private,to become public.I am pleased that you can see a difference, from your 1st test,I think your very polite, passionate about your music, and care about your fans.Thank you for brightening my days with your covers.xx much love.xx
Back again: Dan, I really like that you showed that these tests are not infallible and they are subject to a lot of learning and habit change and immediate circumstance. Any test is just a snapshot and these also have questions on them that have a lot of surface validity so that a persons conscious/defended/coping mind can actually cheat on them if they’re not careful.
Thank you Dan Vasc for allowing us on your journey with you. I absolutely love your music, and I believe in your dream for yourself. You have the passion to hold your dreams in your hands! Never stop moving forward, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey!
I was a strength to everyone else at my dads funeral but when i got home i was shattered into pieces and had a breakdown 😢 great insight Dan, i know your dad would be proud, i love your humor and zeal for life
Dan, I love a lot of your vocal videos. It made me wonder what kind of training you’ve had. Would you mind sharing a little of that? one of the reasons I ask is that I am both a double PhD in psychology and have worked at it for 50 years, but also a guitarist who taught himself to play classical guitar, starting at age 10 and then spent 16 years in really great voice lessons learning to sing things up to operatic arias. I am loving the fact that you did this video. Makes me want to meet you! Thank you for your openness. I think it will help a lot of people. I figured that if you get two people to Red Jordan Peterson, and or do the personality test, you will have created an exponential process toward health. Anyway, I love your voice and the way you use it.❤
Young man, I am an old man, about to turn 69 that has just recently discovered you and must tell you, what a breath of fresh air you are for me to have witnessed. The biggest challenge all of us have in life is in getting to know ourselves. One thing you might want to check out is "What is an Empath". If you have those abilities and learn how to manage them it will be very beneficial to you. If you are empathic and you do not know that you are it will be detrimental to you.
Dan Vasc, You are happy with your progress and as well you should be. Your 2nd personality test results remind me very much of myself, the me I used to be but have fallen down and feel like I've gone backwards in many ways. What you've done is amazing and is apparent that it is not an easy thing to change your mind set. Congratulations.
I am exceedingly happy for you. I also learned that a personality test may be useful in identifying target areas that I need to improve in order to achieve my goals. So, thank you! Also, your music is great.
Use that talant that God gave you to glorify Him and you will prosper, not only monatary but joy and peace. Trust God.. you are amazing and you seem so sweet. Your amazing grace is awesome. With your singing you could change people life singing gospel..❤
I love your voice Dan, you are amazing, I am old and a dedicated Christian and love the energy and dedication in your singing, music. Any parent would be very proud of you. Keep going.
Thank you Dan for being your self. I would love to wear that shirt Dan. I seriously laughed so hard when I didn't hear paper coming out of your pocket, I knew you were up to something. You didn't disappoint, my friend.
I was turned on to you by my son when he sent me a CD with your Elvis cover songs. Magnificent. I love your covers of hymns. You have the range that l never heard before . I am 75 and love you music.

Bro, I, m sixty, and looking at you, I see a younger me. The funny part is you're ahead of me in growth. Yeah, it's been a tough sixty years. Stay the course, brother, and do the IQ test. I'm curious.
Good for you man. I think you have good self awareness from what you say and sounds like you're resilient. Just run your own race and beat the person you were yesterday.
So thrilled to have found you & your absolutely amazing voice! Love Amazing Grace & especially Nessum Dorma! My most favorite opera! AND!! Gethsemane!! Tears & chills~ thank you
You are amazing in so many ways. You sound similar to me in many ways especially regarding authority. I abide by rules but do not like being told what to do. What a cool topic for a video and yes...do the IQ test. I'm not a huge believer in the accuracy of them but with your musical genius and linguistic ability you are bound to score very high. Thanks for sharing. I love Jordan Peterson too. Cheers 🍺🍺 ❤🇨🇦🇨🇦
I tried too, after watching this video. It was fun, we've almost the exact score you and I, except for the agreeableness thing :P. Anyway, you're amazing singer, I wish you all the best
Nice video! I'm impressed by you feeling strong enough to put yourself out there! I think I'm going to do the test! And Happy New Year to you and yours !
