Liberals so stupid they don't understand air is made of 78% Nitrogen, 21% Oxygen, and 1% Hydrogen with 0.05% CO2. To top that off, 99.999999999% of 0.05% of CO2 comes from microorganisms. Every square inch of Earth is microorganisms. Why do you put food inside freezers? Cold temperatures prevent bacterial growth. Same thing with Earth. Temperatures go down, bacterial growth goes down than CO2 goes down and vice versa. Liberals soo stupid they don't understand what the sun is, which is a fusion reaction of two different isotopes of hydrogen tritium and deuterium overcoming nuclear bonds with gravity, which is extremely inefficient and causes temperature to change.

in my opinion as a very old player of Final Fantasy XIV, this is absolutely NOT the biggest problem of FFXIV.. its not really a problem at all, just a minor inconvenience. The real biggest problem in FFXIV right now is the fact that players who own houses in-game cannot take a break from the game for more than 44 days, because if you dont play for more than 45 days your house gets deleted and the plot goes up for sale 24 hours later. (this also means that any unique items that you have in the house like quest rewarded items from the monster hunter event will be gone forever, while general items will be stored in a recovery npc for you in the housing district) this basically forces all home owners in FFXIV to either stay subscribed for the rest of their lives, or take 44 day breaks in between subscriptions (which can get very stressful), or just quit the game altogether. we understand that the 45 day eviction notice is in the game to keep land hoarders (people who buy a dozen properties or more across multiple servers to sell them later at a marked increase) from hoarding too much, but the reality is that it hurts regular players a lot more than it hurts hoarders, we feel as if we're being held hostage at gunpoint because of it. And this is why the majority of the playerbase is so excited for the Island Sanctuary update (Endwalker 6.2) to come because we all hope it will be like the Instanced Housing system of games like Black Desert Online, so everyone can have a house in the game without any worry of losing it just because they wanna take a break from the game or hit hard times irl. that is the hope anyway... since square enix is being extremely tight lipped about any details regarding Island Sanctuary nobody is sure about anything so we're forced to speculate. Many Guilds including mine are hoping that it really is instanced player housing so a lot of the people who own houses in the game by themselves (personal houses instead of clan houses) might consider moving to their Island Sanctuary and relieve some of the strain and open up properties on the housing market in-game. edit: failing this, if square enix unfortunately decides not to make island sanctuary an instanced personal housing, then i hope at least that they decide to implement a feature to allow tenants of the home-owner to have the privilege to buy the home-owners property with consent from the home-owner if the tenant has been a resident and friend of the homeowner for at least 1 year. that way i can ask my brother to transfer his house to me since he doesnt wanna play the game anymore - all because he kept losing his will to keep playing while feeling like he was being forced to play just to keep the house.

The Gaius fight in Praetorium is like a beginner mode of one of the Sorrows of Werlyt fights, and it's cool to see them borrowing mechanics from later expansions to redo and recontextualize earlier ones. Livia in CM has some weaker versions of moves from the two magitek girls at the end of The Ghimlyt Dark, too. The XIV team knows the only sustainable growth path for an MMO now is pulling in audiences who don't traditionally play MMOs. One of the huge things that keeps these people out of MMOs is the fear of friction when failing at old group content or even just not playing optimally. A huge amount of what the team does is in service to minimizing that risk of friction: massively expanding Duty Support, standardizing dungeon design, having The Echo, literally handing you free current ilvl gear in MSQ, raising the overall skill floor for most things, muting chat in Crystalline Conflict, even the harsh and near-instant moderation penalties for namecalling and insult reports.

I really can't think of a worse system off relying on youtube guides and dumb addons that tell you how to play, which tbh most people just wont do. why do you need anything outside of the game for content. I must say the story is okayish, nothing groundbreaking, but you can immediately see the different approach in shadowlands, A LOT of stopping and listening, like im not here to play a book, if i want a book, i read a book. same with bfa, was less annoying in legion and wod. just a lot of slow escorts and watch the dialogue prompts. i just started playing wow to get a character up for dragon flight, but man it sure has a lot of annoying shit. the fact you can't immediately mount in the maw or fly... i hate getting taken abillities for the sole reason of "user experience". every single expansion the same pathfinder bullshit.

@@WolfCoder funny that you mention it, i deleted another paragraph i wrote about the lvling. i typed that they could just do lvl 1-10 for shadowlands, and nothing of value was lost. the lvling is so unengaging anyway, so why do it. the story doesn't get told you see snippets from 1-50 deciding which expansion you want to play instead of leading the player through all the content, atleast for their first character. you don't even play a full expansion to get to lvl 50 i wasn't half way done with Warlord of Draenor before hitting 50 and I was only lvling with quests. i would play ff14 but i am someone who likes story told quick and mostly through the world around you (souls fan here btw). most of ff14 is delivered slow BUT right... which isn't my style. I also don't like the gameplay in terms of animations, GCD (Lvling), graphics. If they ever port ff14 to Luminous Engine, I would def main this game. the characters just feel so stiff you know, it looks unnatural in a bad way. Main problem are enemy attack's and your own here, but also cutscene movement. and just to clarify I played through ARR and starting of Heavensward before i paused because of reallife and lack of people to play with, but maybe i get back in again when they put out their overhaul.

The more often you do it the more that wonder from a maze of looping paths and dead ends will turn to frustration instead. Bless the Sprouts, but with some it's like the old adage. You can bring a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Some get lost and need to be found but keep running or fall behind when folks are grabbing the needed photocells and ultimately we want something easy to understand and catch up in for first experiences. Like with how much Blizzard stressed we needed to do without flying to appreciate the world and I meanwhile just groaned four months in trying to get my this-and-that done with less friction knowing I was going to do it again on alts. To be fair to Classic Prea. Back when it was new, it was pretty hype. But it didn't take very long before people were speedrunning it and destroying all the bosses effortlessly. This, and gw2 _finally_ reimplementing living story episode 1 are great lessons for anyone developing an mmo. Doesn't matter what your initial vision was, it's always a good idea to go back and make sure the _old_ stuff points to the _new_ stuff. I played GW2 a lot and then put it down in frustration because I wanted to play a staff Mesmer but the runes were gated behind PvP(which I do not enjoy at all) or a dungeon that is a nightmare to solo and no one runs it, so everytime I get the thought to play again, I remember how frustrated I was and how I can't even play a basic build concept because of how they gate certain gear and it always stops me from going back. I'm still tilted just remembering the weeks I forced myself to play PvP and tried desperately to solo that dungeon only to not even get a single rune I needed for PVE, it genuinely put me off the game so bad I highly doubt I will ever play it again.

Now they may can stand the test of time rather than slowly turn into memes. I am happy that players like yourself finally get to see a taste of what it was like when it was released. Fairly true, but by the time the ARR patches finished the MSQ rou dungeons were already horrible out geared with Ironworks. A time when Techpoints and cross-classing mattered and you didn't always laugh at the lv 50 Lancer in a dungeon. A time when having BRDs for songs was a matter of progression and BLMs as mana batteries for topping off heals was thing. I tried to run after them but I couldn't find anyone for my life. By the first boss - that I completely missed because it got deleted in the 15+ seconds it takes for the game to teleport you there - I decided I would stay attached to everyone by the hip to not get lost again... and then somehow I missed something because I couldn't get into the magitek armor and once again got separated. Nero also got deleted by the time I got teleported again, and by then I was so distressed that I couldn't even enjoy the 30 seconds that Gaius, Ultima, and Lahabrea lasted. That whole thing + the fact I felt so useless in Castrum made me not do MSQ roulette ever until the changes, and it's just... so much better. I just experienced the modified stone vigil today. The middle boss, in the barbican, that was claustrophobic, and Isgebind lobbing ice in at us from outside, was changed to be more open, bigger, with better mechanics. The rest of the dungeon had a few mob tweaks, but they changed the least impressive fight in that dungeon.
@zoruasnivy
@zoruasnivy 2 года назад
I was quite happy with the changes to the mob spawns, I'm learning tanking and Stone Vigil feels less hellish as a new/inexperienced player now. That dungeon always felt very claustrophobic in general, the wandering packs were always way too squished together which lead to wipes more often than not when a random one joined your pull midway through. Some people definitely enjoyed the challenge (there are some in this comment section) but when you are still getting used to the game or a new role you don't want a sudden difficulty spike out of nowhere. That kind of difficulty should be preserved in the Hard versions of these ARR dungeons.

The tweaks to lighting in the old content are amazing, I know Yoshi-P previewed it on an LL, but his preview in a Shadowbringers dungeon did nothing to sell the improvement it made to the 2.0 content. The changes to the DR:MSQ content are fantastic! Gaius now feels a lot more convincing as the warrior he is hyped to be before, during and after Prae. Of the changes to the earlier dungeons, the one that bothers me the most is actually Stone Vigil, and not because of the changes to the bosses, no it is the changes to the mobs in there that disappointed me. Oh they make sense from the "solo experience" approach to the game, but they also significantly weakened the threat of the dungeon in total - even simple things like changing fights vs 3 enemies to fights vs 2.
@zoruasnivy
@zoruasnivy 2 года назад
Personally I'm not opposed to the lesser amount of mobs in the dungeon, as it always made for a tough ride for any party that had a new tank or healer. What was frustrating about it in particular was that you couldn't see many of the wandering mobs from far away due to the many twists, turns, and rooms that were in the dungeon (not to mention the ice sprites which you have to already know the spawn location of), and wipes typically would happen when the tank either pulled too many on accident or the healer couldn't keep up with the tank. It still feels a little difficult now but more manageable for new players still getting used to the game.

The entirety of ARR in terms of gameplay was kind of one big Beta test as the devs were tossing ideas at the wall and seeing what works and what doesn't. They've gone back over the years and modernized some aspects, but the dungeon overhaul is probably the biggest they've done. plus they were under a lot of pressure to get the rehauled game out. Toto-Rak was flat-out repurposed from 1.0 entirely with practically no layout changes (but most of the added complexity they were trying with the original stripped out). Obviously the rework is still largely based on those assets, but like with other dungeons they did this with, they cut out and/or added new stuff to actually create a new place, plus the added light sources etc give it a distinct atmosphere compared to the first couple of dungeons all being underground caves.

I've gotten Totorak a billion and a half times in leveling roulette over the years and never had anyone flame the tank for not knowing where to go. "Worst case" a more experienced player will jump around in the proper direction and lead the tank or say in chat "this way," and the tank is usually grateful for the guidance. I think the changes are basically just a good thing for new players. I didn't even particularly care for the bits of dungeon exploration in ARR, that's not really FFXIV's style as a story-driven, cinematic experience, IMHO. That's just my personal take on it though, I'm certain not everyone's experience or interests in content align with mine. I can see where these things might create a bit more of a sense of adventure for a new player, even if I'll always hold that they are simultaneously hampering the fundamental goal of the game.

The redo on these is fantastic for the most part. I need to hit up NG+ for the Rhitatin and Lahabrea fights. A part of me misses "FFXIV: The Movie the Game" and my own personal "Praetorium Bingo" but these changes are truly profound. As others in the comments section have mentioned, a lot of the mechanics showcased here are used in later higher end fights down the road. It's great having these fights and dungeons actually be engaging! I can't zone out and watch Netflix while I'm fighting the Ultima Weapon any more. I've run those dungeons far too many times, so I find myself wanting to go to search lights that no longer exist and seeing if "Bob" will be able to survive the encounter. They started off by pruning the post 2.0 story, which does have its casualties as well (some great humor with the Sylphs is lost), but does streamline things. The Duty Support is a good addition to bring things more in line with the end game experience. It's fascinated me watching people coming into FFXIV and excited about 2.0 content (which I also liked) and smiling like "Aww, you think this is good content? Just wait." but now, the gameplay is improved for those early dungeons. I can safely go "Yeah, you can have fun all the way through." It's going to be interesting seeing how the later game dungeons get adjusted for the Duty support - which does not include side dungeons.

Stuff like this is really what I was hoping for, but it was still astounding to see how much effort they put into some of these, including flat out removing a lot of cutscenes that really don't serve the story anyway in Castrum and Praetorium. In the former its actually rather shocking to see how much they just removed rather than adjusting it. But it still kinda works considering the boss battles that are left in are much more elaborate now. Actually, those two duties almost feel like they are a bit too challenging for the level range. Having modern markers to denote tank busters and stack markers is great but for a sprout who sees them for the first time its a rough introduction. I hope they do more stuff like this in the early game, perhaps also updating guildhests and the hall of the novice to teach players about that sort of stuff.

I was surprised when the lb3 gauge was charged in the second ultima fight that I swore it felt like we were doing an anime fight. It was dope(had fun unleashing reaper lb3) and now I crave porta decumana every time I do msq roulette. 6.1 definitely did justice to those nichtmarish experiences and made it fun again.

The only real issue I have with the reworks, well really just the Toto Rak rework, is that it kind of killed the dark, dank and dangerous feel of the place. It used to feel like the kind of place you'd never want to go intentionally but now the sun dappled clearings, greenery and meandering (underground) rivers make it feel like some where you'd actually choose to go for a picnic. I do miss the old school, twisty nature of the place but I miss the atmosphere and gravitas more.

My favourite part of the ARR remakes is how they revamped Gaius' fight. The fight itself really sets up content for the Weapons trials and it makes it feel so much more impactful.

5:36 I really liked the streamlining of Toto-Rak, but as a counterpoint saying it was made for Duty Support ease and NPCs "probably wouldn't be able to deal with [it]": Grand Company (NPC) Squadron Command missions have had Toto-Rak as a deployable mission since 4.1 (10/10/2017).

Man when are they gonna update squadrons.
@DifunctedReble
@DifunctedReble 2 года назад
@@CybersteelEx I hope they just update the AI and dungeon selection. I don't want them to phase out the rewards or the customized NPCs (which was rumored during a Live Letter).

For a new player, the aged player-base is actually the biggest detriment. Before the patch you have to join a party for dungeons, which for the most part won't even say hi. For the entire dungeon you just try to catch up to them while they rush through it for the rewards. You can't even stop to pickup a chest or read an artifact, or even to admire the dungeon scenery. There is zero sense of adventure. It's wait for queue and run through a map, and repeat. After the patch, the new duty support system solves this problem for 2.0 storylines. Only if they add it for 3.0 and 4.0, it would be perfect. They do see the problem, and they are fixing it.

I can say ( as a free trial sprout) that I played very few of the old duties before the update. Dealing with the slime boss in copperbell was an interesting mechanic the one time I experienced it, but I do admit having it simplified feels better. Instead of forcing bombs to blow up near it, now you just wail on it and avoid both slime bombs and puddle sprays. Also, it is nice that for the main story duties to allow for the AI allies to do things from time to time. If a player doesn’t know the mechanics, they can learn from watching. It is nice as well to be able to run the missions whenever you are on instead of waiting for a time to hopefully get into a party. Only main issues I had with that is they are preset NPCs that can’t be swapped or changed unless you change your class to take up that slot, and they do the bare minimum of the fights. Rarely will they use the limit break in fights and if there are moments where you can hit a boss with range attacks while it is going through certain dodge mechanics, they stand there. But that is the trade off of playing with AI over real players. Just wish they made it a tad bit easier to see that the new gear they offer is actually better that the leveling gear you get before 50. I went through just taking mostly the coins for a prize quests instead of gear because the level gear had defense set high enough where it looks way better than what is offered, even though the newer sets had double the stats and higher ratings.

The coolest part is that, narrative design-wise, Porta Praetoria would be a new player's first time seeing an LB3, as you can only do LB3's in a Full Party. All the content up until then are Light Party dungeons.

Something kind of cool about the Gaius fight - it's heavily inspired by a spoiler-y fight that's part of Shadowbringer's Trial series. If you've done, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I fell out of the habit of playing this game after the big release since queues were over an hour long. Started playing another game since I couldn't log in. Haven't cycled back to it yet but thinking about it. Glad to hear there are some QoL updates.

I remember I was completely put off from tanking from getting lost in early dungeons, as a dps you kinda dont realize how you dont internalize some routes untill youre the one that has to lead lol I also appreciate the smaller things like adding tankbuster marks on attacks for new tanks in these new versions.

I don't think those dungeons, trials and raids were the problem with player retention in ARR. I counted. From the time you set out to fight titan, to fighting titan, it takes 21 quests. 21.

I still had several jobs under lvl 50, suffice it to say I'm more than content with what they have accomplished, since I've powerleveled without even realizing it those dps jobs quite easily thanks to both duty support as well as how quicker and way more entertaining main scenario is now by comparison. Overall, kudos to the team, I'm eager to see which sort of changes will they do for both Heavensward and to a lesser extent Stormblood! (other than tank busters, there's not that much that I would touch other than maybe making Thordan feel more epic by making the fight a tad bit longer on normal).

I only learned about these changes because I got Brayflox's Longstop in Levelling Roulette. I thought I was going crazy with the pull changes and I only realized once the last boss didn't spawn the awful poison pools that heal him.
@DarkDyllon

and people sometimes never figured out that it heals him. even though the game literally tells you it does. they're unfortunately catering to the lowest IQ player. when the game literally tells you "hey, uhm ... he's healing from being in his own poison field ... maybe ... i don't know ... move?" and you decide to ignore that ... my god.

I've only done prae + decumana so far but it was super cool just to see how they've brought them up to the remixed versions that happen elsewhere. Gaius feels like the stuff later, and decumana is much, much more like ultima ultimate. It's really neat. Can't wait to try the dungeons too, that's my next project

I really like the dungeons changes and the Dungeon support / Trust System... my only gripe is that since they added this to help people getting through the MSQ... they left out support for the non MSQ dungeons... so when levelling an alt job in this system, you run into large gaps - from leve 32 in Brayfloxs' Longstop to the next MSQ dungeon at The Stone Vigil level 41 or so... I hope they add support for the rest of the dungeons.

Patch 6.1 is AMAZING, streamlining all low level dungeons was a must, it was horrible and now it's not bad at all. What I'd love in this game is a panel with all in-game activities, hear me out. Imagine a new panel that shows you all the activities you can do and teleports you there. Roulette, Gold saucer, Logs, beast tribe, sight seeing, aether current, hunts, side quests, blue quests, pvp, eureka, bozjan, fates, leve quests. In this panel you'd select one activity, the game would teach you how to unlock it if needed and teleport you there! Wouldn't it be amazing?
