Why?!! Why cant they secure things in the cargo holds? I've worked in a warehouse. Everything was secured, it didnt matter if if was up on high racks or on the ground. It was all wrapped and secured. The warehouse was on stable ground, not a starship.

The object fell because of Q, he did it on purpose to force Amanda to use her powers. I guess you didn't understand that scene or the whole episode.

Nah. Whatever the Red Door entity is, it is either something new. Or something old related to Picard, that just jumped to Jack. My bet would be a entity like Armus.

I'm inclined to go with Armus, but I hadn't even thought about Amanda. I loved this episode, because 'powers' are my weakness. It would be cool to find out how she's doing anyway. They introduced another Q and then just dropped her.

From what I have seen they have no report system for risk observations or accidents. Even in this case it was just "oh, that just happened, now lets go on with whatever we were doing". I blame the lack of unions.

Yeah, like maybe lower gravity or forcefields to catch falling objects.

You didn't understand that scene or even the whole episode. The falling object was triggered by Q, it's a deliberate test to force Amanda to use her powers. And so is the warp core breach.

These old movies, and series, did not really understand that in a ship like that would be cameras covering every single millimeter and in a wide spectrum far wider than visible. And certainly the computer will have told Picard of the anomaly and her movement.

Tricorders are very complicated pieces of equipment. It might take an hour to fully calibrate each unit.
