I was not accepted to the radiologic technology class of 2022. I was incredibly disappointed and dreaded filming this. I believe the Lord is still good even in my disappointment and wanted to share what's new in my life. Did you get in your first time? Tell me about your experience below!

Hey, I was in the same situation as you were. I didn’t get in the 1st time, I was on the waitlist and we had a competitive program with so many applicants. Something I’ve learned was there’s a time for everything. During that waiting period, I trusted in God. Learned so much during the waiting period. It really shaped me for the next year. I was done with the pre reqs. And waited a year and got in the following year. Prayer really works. Learn to be patient and I promise , if this is where God wants you to be, he will make a way in his timing. Don’t feel discouraged, instead take this time to really dig in deep and enjoy your life before the program starts. I can tell you, I’m a rad tech now, I just graduated this summer. Take this year to really be happy and enjoy your time with friends and loved ones. Don’t give up! Most of these programs are extremely competitive. Doesn’t matter how high grades you have and how well you do in the interview! They’ll remember you from the last time, they always do. Do something to keep yourself standing out. Always check in when you can and reapply! I hope this helps! God will make a way in his timing!

@@rachellen4782 hi, this whole post brought me to tears seeing how good God has been. In the waiting time trust in God. I believe God made me wait because he wanted me to put ALL trust in him. If this is what you want, pray for God to open doors. Also take the time to learn your career. Something that helped a lot was knowing a lot about what career I was entering. During the next interview process, I prayed, did my part by doing research and they saw how interested I was and took me in. I would highly recommend getting a head start, knowing your anatomy. Definitely re learn your bone parts. A&P 1&2 comes back in the program. Also just keep praying, do not give up. I will be praying for you as well. God bless you 😊

Hi, I just want to send some positive vibes your way. Don’t give up. I went to a 4 year university and dropped out because I realized it wasn’t for me. I’ve been trying to get into a local Radiography program for awhile. I was an alternate candidate twice. I finally tried applying at a different school and I just got word that I got accepted. I am 27 yrs old, so you have time. You can do it!

Maddy this is really heartfelt, thanks for sharing as there are others in your same shoes. As you mentioned you don’t have a lot of pre-recs left. One thing you could do is start studying radiologic physics ahead as this is an area where a lot of techs have trouble. Also if you can drop some knowledge bombs on this during the interview it couldn’t hurt. As you mentioned you are working at a clinic so get advice from the technologists there on what was the hardest part and put in some time upfront. Thanks again for sharing this.

Thank you so much for the helpful advice!! I have been writing down many things I've learned from the techs to be able to talk about in my next interview. Also if anyone else here is struggling thinking they won’t get in, please know you can if you work for it. I didn’t even try out of high-school, I ended with an embarrassing gpa in high school, not much below, but below a 3.0 (a series of major loss in my family sent me into a spiral unfortunately) and knew I wouldn’t get in. So I went to business school. Hated it. Applied to a program to get my name in there, Transferred to a cc and got my pre reqs in psychology med term and anatomy, applied while taking those classes (again knowing I would likely not be accepted) and finally, applied this February and was accepted and started two weeks ago! It’s so so heart breaking to know you didn’t get in, but I promise if you show them that you genuinely want this career and are in it for the patients and for the science, they’ll take you and love you! Good luck to anyone that needs it, I believe in you all(:

Hey I wanna tell you something real quick. I graduated high school 2018. I found this university (which is where I attend) here in Florida, and I was always interested in radiology. I had a good GPA to get into the school so I automatically got accepted in the school to start and complete my gen eds. But to be able to get into the actual rad tech program, I had to do an entrance exam. I took it the first time and didn’t pass, I really didn’t care cuz I had a year to take it and had a couple chances (3 in total) I took it a second time around the second semester and failed by 6 points. And I had one chance left and passed it over 2 pts and you don’t know how happy I was. I got into the program and started my classes. They are monthly meaning the duration is 4 weeks each class and accelerated so it wasn’t easy. When I went into physics I got depressed because it was so much work. I failed and took a 4 month break. I went back to the program and right now I’m doing awesome. Already went to clinicals for two months straight and passed all my evaluations with the patients that the school requires and I’m 8 months away from graduating. What I want to tell you is to never give up. You’re reading this and seeing how hard it was for me and I still managed to pull through and didn’t give up. I believe in you! Sometimes God puts obstacles to see how you handle it👏🏻✍🏽 I pray and believe you will get into the program

Things 100% do happen for a reason! I almost applied in 2019 but ended up getting pregnant and my due date was the month the program started so I waited a year and covid happened. I applied in 2020 and got in and now the seniors are behind because they missed 7 months of clinicals and can't graduate on time! I'm so happy I waited. If you really want it reapply and you will probably have a better chance of getting in because of previously applying! Fingers crossed everything works out for you! ❤

Maddy, your video came up as I was looking for cardiology information to study for another modality registry and I thank G-d it did because I wanted to share with you and others here. First, let me give all honor and glory to G-d for today and for this opportunity to share. Okay so I didn't get in on my first attempt either and I was disappointed and upset also but then I knew that this was not my time to be in the program. I knew my steps were being led by our L-rd J-sus so I just waited patiently and was accepted the following year. My class was awesome! We had so many students helping each other out. I had a girl in my class that became a good friend til today, she and I had the first two clinical sites together and we helped each other out in everything we did in order to succeed in the classroom as well as in the clinical setting. Next I want to share some tips with you once are in the program, be YOU! Have fun and talk with the techs (that includes the CT, MRI, Sonographers, etc.) RAD's, Management in the clinical sites you are placed into. At the same time when it's time to be professional, GIVE that awesome patient care. Provide patient care you would want to see your mom, dad, brother or any Love one have while being cared for at an imaging center or hospital. Remember you are selling you mostly over your experience (but study and learn positioning at the least) because you are still a student and most places will teach you their protocols. Now that being said keep your fun to a respectable one or others will feel threatened and think that you're just flirting with techs or management and that WILL be remembered. And the Imaging dept is a small world, people will share what they saw. Lastly, it's a two year program and it's gonna fly by so learn what's being taught because most will be in the registry you will have to take for your ARRT license. I wrote to much sorry for that but thought I needed to share. Have a blessed day and remember Proverbs 3:5....
