Woohoo! Always excited when another Paul video drops. Not only do I get to watch this video but I'll get to hopefully see him on stream later at the world championship. ETA: I've really been enjoying the coverage as I've been able to watch good chunk both days so far. And I'm rooting for a Kai/Ha finals.
I don't comment much, but I just wanted to say that I very much enjoy the constant infusion of draft content and seeing the different decks / strategies that you employ to win much more often than not. I have not been watching the World Championships but I hope it is going well for all involved.
Hey Paul! Got some awesome Heavy Play sleeves yesterday at the booth and got the Paul discount! Are you going to be able to make an appearance on the MagicCon floor at all? Would understand if you can't since you're really busy with the announcing and all but would be really cool if you could!
Not only do I think you were right with Bottomless Pool P3P1, but it didn't seem especially close to me. Even if there had been no possibility of going 3 color, you're going to want to have lots of Islands to play all of your cheap blue cards on time. At that stage your deck seemed "mono U splashing G and/or W." Edit: Also this was just a really well navigated draft, kudos! I love how the better blue commons and uncommons can mesh with lots of different strategies and colors.
I don't tend to agree, his green was way better than his white, and taking the Overlord would have also helped to splash the only two worthy white cards. Both choices were ok. In paper it would have been 100% the Overlord though.
Could you imagine if you had gotten that survivor? 😂 Seemed like a lot of time if they plopped down something that could block fliers, you would get stuck until getting ethereal armor
