With Residency Match Day 2023 approaching, I wanted to make a quick video for those who may have to experience the grief associated with not matching. This is a brief video, as I previously shared my full journey (above link) of not matching into residency as a 4th year medical student, then again as an intern / practicing physician, and then matching into a competitive specialty after not matching previously. I am currently a second year plastic surgery resident, and sharing my journey with hopes that it helps inspire and motivate those who have had the unfortunate experience of not matching into residency. I am Dr. Danielle Ward, a Plastic Surgery resident physician sharing my journey through medicine and beyond.
