Pete enjoy your videos. I appreciate that you have a great understanding of long term relationships with your customers. Have a great rest of your week.
Pete I feel the same way you do. I didn’t go up on my egg prices when the others did. I had one customer ask me if I was going up. I said, no sir, I went up when feed went up. I have no reason to go up now. I value my customers. Thank you for sharing your life with us on here all the time. Enjoy the videos.
Morning coffee with Hillary and Pete. That is a real treat. Famous bad jokes, strolling through the hen house, seeing the tractors, watching the piggers, and feeling the warm weather .... what a calming effect. But I did not hear Patty complain about her food... maybe next time. Thank you for your delightful gift.
Pete, you have officially taken the top spot in my mind as far as RU-vid channels go. You and Evan, from Country View Acres, both do a great job providing entertaining but also informative content without becoming the pushy salesmen. I know sponsorships pay the bills in many cases on here, but some channels have become grossly consumed by pushing products. I can't wait to see the 756 restoration next winter. Your TRUE love for what you do is evident in all your videos!
I normally don't promote, but if you find your viewing entertainment growing tiresome and stale, check out Matt's Off Road Recovery for a complete change of pace. Nice crew with outstanding morals despite the beautiful, but harsh elements of the high desert regions and a stellar conviction to quality service. @MattsOffRoadRecovery
But the bad feed causing chickens to stop laying is conspiracy!!! Pete is has a brilliant mind and has accomplished much. That said, I was disappointed in his doubting the word of so many homesteaders who have also raised chickens for years and through trial and error realized it was the feed that was the cause of their chickens laying less. Not conspiracy theory at all.
I wonder if you have ever watch any from Geirok Farms. They are another small farm operating in WI on land that is extremely hilly. They take excellent care of their equipment and are also aware of the importance of preventive maintenance. From MI here. I rate them as a close favorite to Pete's channel. Hope you don't mind my suggesting this. It is so nice to have places to watch that are fun, informational and entertaining.
Always love your videos. I am impressed by how fast you can turn the temp from Fahrenheit to Celsius and even Kelvin... Lol but the video didn't seem complete. Where was Patty at calling for the complaint department. Have a great day Pete and keep the awesome videos coming
Thanks for your post. I always enjoy your channel. I find that you are a calming, logical voice in a world that seems to get crazier every day. Keep up the good work..
You are a wise and clever man Pete, on top of your game sorting your machinery in idle times before the heavy season starts and knowing the machines are ready and waiting for work without any failures (getting to them before it happens)
The 756 rebuild will be interesting on it's own. Not so familiar with hydrostatic transmissions but this is one way to learn it from watching Pete's video.
Love your videos so much. Never gets old. It's always a treat day when I see you post a new video. I always stop what I'm doing and click on you. You're the best there is on RU-vid.
The 756 restore will be an awesome series! It sure will be interesting doing it in that little shop. Nice to have the occasional bad Dad joke back in the videos. 😊😊😊
The first tractor I ever drove to do work was a 656 just like the one you have. That was about 50 years ago. My dad was a cotton/soybean farmer in MS and I helped out for a few years. He was a die hard Farmall man. Every tractor we had was red. Seeing all your old tractors brings back memories. I love your channel.
Excited to watch your spring and summer busy life videos. We have chickens as a hobby, my wife loves them and we sell our eggs to her coworkers for $3 a dozen. It pays for feed, but shes getting more orders than we can fill right now. We keep the price the same so we keep our customers happy and coming back but it's not an income source like yours, it's just fun for her. Have a great day.
Good morning Pete and Hillary. Once again ‘Just a Few Acres Farm’ has made my day. Never knew how much I loved tractors until viewing your videos. Looking forward to your next restoration. Hope you guys have a great week! The jokes? :-)
Add a shop on to the pig barn you’re planning to build. My 2cents 🤔. I thought you said something about a pig barn awhile back. Getting ready for summer is exciting! Seeing things grow and bloom, watching the cattle kick up their heals. Wonderful days ahead!
Pete, you are right about prices and the relationship with your customers at the farmers market. I was approached early in the season at our farmers market a couple years ago by new vendor that wanted me to raise my prices for kale and mustard greens. I explained that I was fine with my prices because I knew my production cost. My customers come looking for me every year and I really appreciate them and they appreciate me. I sold everything I brought that day, as usual. Seeing he was frustrated, I asked him what was his problem. He said it was that my bags of greens were twice the size of his for half of his price. He stood at his table all morning and I didn't see him sell anything. I also gave him my opinion about colluding and price fixing. I don't think he embraces the concept capitalism. He came to sell one more Saturday then I never saw him again.
Boy that white snow really makes that red paint really stand out nice restoration on the super c the and the MD I like the way you parked them by the red barn makes a nice picture
Once again, a great video. You and Hillary are a dynamic duo on the farm. Enjoy the jokes and have been sharing them in the workplace. Best wishes and be safe.
👍tight squeeeeeze there guys ! But ya got the old girl in ! Would love to watch you restore her too Pete! Your restoration projects turn out better than magnificent ! We're so grateful you share so much with us ! Love the little piggies 🐽 ! You betcha ...well see you next time ! 😉
The redone tractors sure are beautiful. It makes the undone tractors stand out.....not pushing you Pete but saw that twinkle in your eye. That activity is starting up and your enthusiasm is getting me excited for the year beginning soon for farming. You make it fun and I appreciate the hard work everyday you perform. The egg prices info warmed my heart. You and your wife are great people. Thanks for everything Pete!
You have a fine collection of classic Farmall tractors and should be very proud of all your restorations. I enjoy watching your farm work and all your videos.
Sorry to hear you dismiss so many homesteaders facts. Yes these people too have raised chickens for years and as reported when their chickens stop laying they tried a few things, but what finally got them laying again was a change in feed. Imagine you and I standing by your diesel tractor, I fill it with " 7 Up " does it run Pete? You say NO!! Well now, why wouldn't you expect your tractor to perform the same with 7 Up vs diesel fuel? This just sounds conspiratorial to me Pete, smh.
Pete and Missus who’s name I’m blanking on. You two make a wonderful team. It’s a pleasure to see you both together in action. I’m not a farmer so other than mowing my excuses for having a small bunch of garden tractors (+ 1 40hp) is I just like em. My wife sure could learn to harass me less, and help me push them around.
Another great video Pete! My grandpa always told me “Take care of your equipment and it’ll take care of you”. And I’ve always tried to live by that. Long live old iron!
You must have thick skin to read the comments, I imagine. Between the people that just want to "help" and the haters, must be tough to read them. Maybe you're better off just not - just post and ignore the comments? Love your channel, thanks for all the entertainment and wisdom.
Thanks for the inspiration Pete. I acquired my great grandpas Farmall 100 recently. Went through it with a full service and got it running for the first time in about 15 years. She’s ready to work our garden and I’m excited to use a piece of family history! We also have my other grandpas 100 and my other great grandpas super A with the exhaust lift! Thanks for the videos and have a great day!
Thank you for sharing and what your doing in your neck of the woods. I am appreciative of what your spouse and you are doing. And the rebuilding of older tractors 🚜 awesomeness..
im could have swore you said after last years restoration, you weren't doing another this year, and you did the super c. I have a feeling its gonna be a yearly thing till there are all done, and I can't wait
I had an 856 for a while, got distracted by another tractor project so I sold it. I'd love to have a 766 one day. That 756 will be beautiful once you restore it!
Hi Pete, 33 °F is 0.5 °C, just around where water starts to freeze. :) Great channel, loved to watch the tractor restorations! Of course also like to watch the daily farm things too! Greetings from Europe, Hungary from a small, quiet village.
My hubby always got a head start..getting the machinery in tip top condition...as soon as haying season was over...he kept the tractor up for we needed it to help out through the bitter cold winters..ploughing out the high wind blown drifts...so we could get to barn to feed the livestock...it was never ending..once the snow was gone he got the 2 acre garden ready for me with it..then re-serviced it again for the big hay challenge...coming up in the 1st. of july.....our Red massy Ferguson...was the only tractor we had... it was a work horse....but he made sure it was always up and going to do the task at hand....the only piece of machinery that gave us problems was our old new Holland baler...know matter how many times that was in the repair shop...over that knotter on the left side...next to the tire side of the machine...would eventually start breaking shear pins...on every third bale...he had to stop get off and hand tie that side of hay...every year..it would do this..when we sold the farm..this equipment went with it..we attached a note to that side of the baler...good luck with this, here is a new box of shear pins...every third bale..????. I think that baler was haunted.......
Nothing more aggravating than a baler giving you fits, you think you got it all fixed and set to the book specs and a half a load later back to the same problem.
Good Morning! As I type this, I’ve got a big smile on my face! Thank you Pete for bringing happiness through your videos! I enjoy watching Hillary jump for joy because the tractor fit! Don’t forget about JJ and Bossy Pig next time! Enjoy your day!
I'm sure you're channel will grow fast and furious. You are a natural in front of the camera. Very interesting regarding the tractors they're really beautiful, congratulations.
Great video....does the iron wheel IH still run?...the old c farmall was the first tractor I ever drove as a boy, we had the belly plowed on it and used to plowed the corn and pea patches with it
Last summer, I would listen to you mow hay as I trove to work. The most relaxing part of my day. Looking forward to another summer on the farm with you and Hilary. ☀️
I would love a series of ASMR videos of the animals. Just put a camera in the pasture for an hour. Excellent viewing while I'm stuck in an office doing paperwork.
Pete, you're an absolute gem of an individual, and am forever thankful I searched "how to make hay" and unknowingly discovered a wealth of small farm knowledge backed with a great attitude. Thank you!
