I Didn't Win NaNoWriMo // Writing & Life Update 

Oh Adele, I’m so sorry to hear about all the stress you’ve been under, I hope things at least went well with house hunting since you filmed this/that you’ve been able to find pockets of rest between the busyness! Congrats on all your writing progress during the month, that’s HUGE! I’m so excited for you & for what the future brings! ❤️

Hi Adele, It definitely sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now. I always took internet and cell service for granted until I moved to a rural area. It took Joey and me over a month to get internet in our cabin and we scheduled a total of five appointments with somebody only coming out for one of them. Internet companies don't have the infrastructure to run high-speed internet out to the country but they're not going to tell you that. It's good that you guys are helping out Alec's parents with that because I've seen techs try and rip off older people who don't really understand what they're paying for. Appalachian small towns are weird, to say the least. From what you're saying, I'm assuming you guys live in/ or near a holler? In places like that everybody knows everybody so people can probably tell you're not from there. I'm fortunate that my town was very welcoming and helpful when I showed up as a new farmer. But if I go even 8 miles North they would probably not be as hospitable. Southern small towns.... sigh... I'm sorry to hear your grandpa had a health scare. I imagine that adds another layer of stress and scary to what's already happening in your life. How is he now? If you're still considering the Triangle, the Habitat ReStore in Durham is a great place to look for affordable secondhand furniture along with the Durham Rescue Mission, Goodwill, estate sales, and FB Marketplace. All of my furniture/decor/house things were either secondhand or free, except for my mattress and box spring, so I'm very grateful for that. You seem like you have a busy couple of months ahead of you! So take all the time you need! I'm so excited for this new chapter in yours and Alec's life and hope your life and holidays get a little easier.
