The heavy breather as you stated, looks cool but is not very practical for riding. I changed mine out on both the Street Glide CVO and the Street Glide ST. It just didnt work for me.
I left the stock cover on when I upgraded to stage 2. It looks stock but it was highly modified to fit the Arlen Ness big sucker air filter. It works great. I love the sleeper stock look.
Looks awesome and gor $100 it is no brainer for sure. While I really like velocity stack I know these are tight on your legs otherwise I will put this on my ride for sure. I had this on my Sportster
I test rode an ST road glide & street glide. I didn't like how my Shin smacked the breath when braking. Huge problem. I'm sure if the floor boards could be lowered and move slight forward it'd be better. I also didn't care for the handlebars, felt like I was steering from my stomach, currently have 14in Todd's Cycle... Till I figure that out, I'll be sticking with my wide glide
