I love that you chose the cheapest way first. Even though it didn't work for the extreme curves, where it didn't break demonstrated you could still do this in a smaller ripple-ly version and get a similar look if you didn't want to invest in the flex board. I hope you continue this series it is definitely one of my favorites.
I adore Becky’s attitude! She is just so lighthearted, positive and fun. When there was a setback as the MDF snapped, she wasn’t remotely discouraged or even annoyed!
I can’t get over the lamp shade. It looks the exact same. It’s proof that these companies charge extortionate prices. I’ve really missed the “that cost how much “ series. Please do more like this. Thank You. xxx
Companies like this only sell to people who are looking to spend a lot of money for something really specific. That's kind of what the sorry girls go after, I wish they liked more normal things but they choose designer stuff to replicate
Great job Beck's 🎉❤ I think the cb2 replica looks great but would be made even 'more better' if you used a rechargeable light bulb in the lowest shade so the light reaches that one too 🤩
The lamp shade is so cool! I think adding a veneer band to the inner side too would have looked really good (as the trim looks in the original CB2 one). The bookshelf looked very cool too!
Could the bookshelf have been made even more affordable if made with a thin aluminum sheet? I think the original is metal right? It would also be cool if the book support portions were covered with book covers/bindings to make everything look like it was floating.
Ok, the fact that Becky made the book shelf out of wood products instead of plastic products, is awesome! (The bookshelves I looked at are plastic) She knocked it out of the park! The lamp shades are spot on!! The only thing I would do is clean them! Stains come out easy! Still, you really couldnt see it! Thank you for these 2 amazing DIY'S! Will recreate when we move!! 😁
Okay this is good. I think the drum shade would be the hardest to get at a low price but it's hardwired giving it a finished look. Beautiful lamp. I'll never look at lampshades the same after seeing this.
fun! taking it a step further and cutting the edge banding in half width wise and also wrapping them all int he same high quality linen would feel even closer!
Is the expensive bookshelf made out of metal? It looks like thin aluminum. Your lamp looks as good as the expensive one. I think I would have started adding the smallest shade to the next size up, first, just so it could be wired a little tighter, but that was still a very cool projects.
The CB2 lampshades/lamp will be one that I actually try. I’ve got a bunch of shades I’m not using and yours turned out great. Thanks for the inspiration and idea!
These came out sooo good. I really believe the MDF could have worked if it was a less intense curve or some steaming. I don't know where I'd put it, but I really want to try the pendant shade now
LOLOLOOLOL, I said that lamp looks like 3 different lamp shades, and then you showed that!!! Sooooo goood!!! And I'm so glad your bookshelf came out@@@ She's so pretty!!! They both are gorgeous!!!
SO IMPRESSED!!! What a privilege that I get to sit here and watch this amazing video knowing it took you guys hours to plan and accomplish and execute and film!!! You are amazing.
I love your videos. Have you thought about including your helper in the video... In this case Rochelle? You include Austin in your videos. It would be fun to see Rochelle's personality with yours. You're both fun.
I am curious to know just how long this lasts. Because this uses a light bulb (that is hot1) I also wonder IF it is fire safe? Many cloth type materials are not!
I think you'll want to consider too before you heat up the shade with an iron, I think the iron has to be set on cotton for the glue to work, And not all but most lamp shades have a plastic lining now... I have no doubt lining will melt and worp. I would consider finding a test patch if possible... or even a test shade. It is surprising even the number of higher quality lampshades that have a plastic interior lining😢. Although not all lamp shades for sure Just something to be aware of hoping to share the knowledge
You could use extra book covers to cover up the bookends too! Make them look like all the books are floating. Also, instead of wood for the bookshelves, some hardware stores have 1/8" plastic sheets which would be more flexible and it comes in white!
