To answer your question, yes I would be upset if my wife made a major body modification without consulting me. My issue with that would be: "why did she feel like she had to keep it a secret?". Clearly our communication is not where it needs to be if she feels like she can't voice her wishes, desires, insecurities, and/or fears to me. That means I would need to reflect on what it is about me that makes her not want to confide in me and she would need to do some self reflection as well. My wife is my best friend so if she can't talk to me then we have a major problem. With that being said, yes I would be sad she felt/feels the need to modify her body via surgery but at the end of the day it's her body and her choice so I will be there to help her through the recovery.
