I Don't Know What To Make Of This New French DD Line 

Like clockwork lol. First video, “I love this ship!”, second video “I was wrong about this ship.” Third video “I was wrong about being wrong about this ship.”

I am not a DD main in the slightest so forgive my ignorance but if you have 12 13.5 km torps that do over 16k damage at a minimum and go 72 km/h and that reload in 2 minutes, all before you even build for it, how is this boat necessarily a close range fighter? It outperforms Shima in torp dpm AND range! Yeah it's got decent guns, it is after all a hybrid, but the focus is more on the torps than the guns I think. And it's not about stealth either, 6km detection is fine considering the range of the torps and the ballistics of the guns. What am I missing here?

PQ, you do the best job editing these ship reviews of any CC I've seen and it's not even close. Your clips efficiently highlight a ship's strengths and weaknesses within the context of each battle, which makes it both informative and entertaining. Well done! RE: the new French line - I kinda think you're doing it a disservice by trying to decide if it's a gun or torp build. Isn't it just a hybrid? Great torp dpm and I just watched you cheeky clap a Tashkent in the Orage video for 3.7k. Looks like it's got a solid spotting advantage on any DD that can smash it. Gearing/Daring/Halland/Hayate/Zs seem to be a problem because it will struggle to disengage so... you've got to pick your engagements carefully just like every other hybrid DD. The wide range of viable strategic options on hybrids make them tough to evaluate, but I have a feeling this thing would be OP with better speed. Here's to hoping WG decides a couple knots won't hurt!

I see this line as torpboats with good guns. Not gunboats with long range torps.

just think of it as a French hybrid/dual purpose DD. A Jack of all trades. It has usable guns and usable torps that are both applicable in most situations. This isn't from gameplay but, I think you trying to shoehorn it into a particular role is giving you grief and overshadowing an honest review of the ship/line.

Hi, I'd like to see you try the Sims T7 American dd. It was available through the Wows closed Beta but I think its available through other means as well? That was the first ship I've ever played so I'd love to see you give it a go :)

There seems to be a simple way to reduce the campiness in random: reducing the size of both teams. Also makes matchmaking quicker too

I don't like the fact that at range the torps don't the same damage as closer up. After all, a warhead, is a warhead.

I don't have the tier 10 yet, but I've played a little of the 5 to 8. I think they're trying for a "balanced" DD. Which would make sense since the game is lacking them.

Potato Quality's opinion of a new ship entirely depends on how well he happens to do with it that day, which in this meta is reliant on luck of the draw. That is to say, his opinion given the binary nature of ship reviews is a coin flip. I've noticed that you gotta wait a couple of years for PQ to revisit a ship half a dozen times before you finally get some of that nuanced 'in that situaion it shines, in that type of game it doesn't, if your playstyle is X then it might not be for you' ..etc coverage, if at all.

Better have the mid tier miserable than the higher one. Still, gotta ask: which is best as a dd for cap contesting and dd hunting between the Kleber and the Z-52?

not sure what to think either.... 0-6 start, then 7-0 streak. all torp build... The torps are your edge, just believe.

I think the torp damage being highest at "close" range is because of these ships "weakness". Because it is at risk of being caught in close range, unlike jaegers that much better chance of staying hidden, Jaeger torps are weak and may not kill target at close range yet has better chance of going silent, cassard torps are super strong to give a higher chance of going silent because damage potential of torps are enough the just 2 torps would kill most Cruisers, just 1 would kill all DD's.

I will build this ship full gun boat with torpedo support, not worried about CV in the future because the rework is here, this dd now is a little hard to play but after the CV rework this thing is going to be broken, with the 2 turrets in the back is more than a hit and run play style, kitting away, and those torps ..... in my modest opinion.

If Wg gives This ship 42 knots without speedboost this ship would be as it’s used to be.

You play this ship as a DEDICATE TORPBOAT!! You avoid contact, even with good guns!! You don charge in, you don't seek for the close-range combat situation, just let them come to you naturally! Your guns is good, but it was a self-defense mechanism, they good because you don't have smoke to cover then sneak away when you get spotted, so it's good to make up for that!!! You bring a Torp boat out and seek for gun fight, THAT'S WHY YOU FEEL IT BAD!!

This ship line seem like "high risk, low reward". I predict a catastrophic overall winrate after a couple of updates because the average player will just die and the good player will struggle a lot to get good results out of them

This should not be anyone's first tier 10. Destroyers ,period, should not be anyone's tier 10. Usually people doing that will consistently be shit at this game at high tiers.

They're so slow it makes them difficult to play.

I am not excited at all about these ships. As you said there are better ships for today's meta. At the 10-minute mark I have gone through 4 adverts and its getting annoying, other channels don't have this many adverts.

Man what is wrong with you in this vid? It´s not supposed to be a friggin GUNboat... So stop trying to put it into that pocket, build it for torps and be done with it. If you are struggling it´s probably more on you as a torp boat DD then the DD itself. You don´t have to get too close either to torp with it... Idk why you are so confused with this DD. Like you said, there is Kleb and Marceau. Now you have a proper torp DD line but with OK guns so take it what it´s for and be happy!

There are two types of DDs that work. Asashio/Shimikaze for sneaky torp hits. Or, the annoying pew pew pew kind such as sherman or mogador. all others are just a waste of time

Another "meh" branch and so probably useless to the game.
