When Chris talks about building the economies in Africa so that people want to stay there, I have to ask what happened to the billions in foreign aid that the West has been sending there since the '70s?
Rhodesia was the country that fed the rest of Africa when it turned into Zimbabwe the rest of Africa was unable to feed it and the rest of Europe will suffer the same fate as it is flooded with Africa.
James Watson has some thoughts on that. He "wonders" why they haven't been able to develop functioning societies despite the billions in aid. I'd elaborate further but I don't want my account banned by the YT overlords.
One would think enforcing borders, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens is government 101. If you can’t enforce your borders, and allow foreigners to cross the border and access free education, free healthcare, free housing the same as citizens, are you really a country?
Polish and Hungarian political leaders value their countries’ culture. The same cannot be said for ours. Neither are they leaders by any recognisable interpretation of the word. They’re administrators. Perhaps even Receivers. As in Receivership or Administration.
Polish government officials are in the middle of a scandal. They granted 250,000 work permits to migrants from Asia and Africa in exchange for bribes. Hungary has started bringing in migrants from Asia too.
Really? With a regime moving slowly towards totalitarianism and authoritarianism, curbing freedoms, using spytech to spy on rival politicians, taking over all the courts, eliminating free speech by either eliminating news channels and newspapers or simply getting rid of them. Sounds great, right?
It’s not impossible but you will notice every western liberal country is experiencing the same thing, at the same time, which tells me it’s all deliberate
Government is the problem. Not the solution. Laws create problems that politicians discuss and create more laws to fix. Then more problems are created by the new laws which then make politicians create even more laws. It’s endless.
As I've said before, there is something seriously wrong when it's easier to enter the UK without a passport than it is to leave Sainsbury's without a receipt.
@@no-oneman.4140 The measure has just been introduced by Sainsbury's (one of the largest supermarket chains) where you have to scan the barcode of the receipt on a reader before the exit gates from the self-service checkout area will open. Yes, I've seen the guys (and girls) on the news; one this evening claimed she had to shoplift because her boyfriend was a drug addict. He could get off drugs or she could find another boyfriend. I don't quite understand the Sainsbury's system since shoplifters aren't going to go through the checkouts anyway.
Here in Australia we put an end to this almost overnight by turning boats around and ending the right to come to the mainland. There are quite literally billions of people who meet the criteria of wanting a better life who would arrive if they could. BILLIONS.
@@CorvusHyperion I'll tell you the truth; nothing is going to happen about the demographic situation in Europe because these "right wing" types do not have a radical bone in their body. Honestly Europeans do not have it in us anymore to properly deal with the situation we face. Too worried about being called a Nazi and racist I swear😂
Actually Mr Murray it was way worse for Inger Støjberg here in Denmark, the reason she was prosecuted was because she refused to have old men be with their child brides on Danish soil (many immigrants from Muhammadan countries have child brides), that's right she upheld the law of the land which is that Paedophilia is a crime, and for that she got convicted.
Listening to Douglas is always a treat. I think the real issue is the insurmountable chasm between evidence based discussion and lovely idealism. Europeans need to understand psychopaths prey on their wishful thinking. I'm south american, trust me, I should know...
We know. There are plenty of us European completely frustrated with our people for encouraging and defending all this. We get labelled all kinds of nasty things and it has worked until now.. but being called a racist or nazi is just laughable now.
Gadaffi had a solid grip on his coast and stopped ‘refugees‘. That is until Hillary Clinton, supported revolution which resulted in Gadaffi’s death and continuing chaos.
Of course it’s not impossible to enforce “The Law”, all it takes is the political Will and Integrity by Politicians, that, friends, might be hard to come by.
It's obvious to me it's planned. What we are witnessing has nothing to do with what political party is in government. The moral, cultural, and economic decline that we are experiencing is not the result of stupidity. This decline is deliberate, meticulously planned, and well-executed. All over the West simultaneously. Anyone who thinks we can work within this contorted system to peacefully redress our grievances is seriously delusional
It is true that the demographics are just going up in Africa. Good thing it is a big continent and we should remind any people wanting to come to Europe that Africa is big enough for all of them. Stay there.
Every organization on the planet needs to adapt and adjust The UN and the EU will be definitely be challenged Countries will start to show their individuality and “ rise up “ The biggest need is finding the balance of how much do I give and how much do I receive ? The idea that national leaders can't even enforce their borders, due to punitive actions taken by international forces above them, is frightening indeed.
And you think they would do that just fill out an application form and join the queue to go back, no, there needs to be a little force applied in law behind it consequences
Pathetic. Even if we deported every single illegal migrant, we would still become a minority within our own nation. Legal migration is 1,000,000x worse for us than illegal migration.
I can imagine that people moving from Hong Kong to the United Kingdom besides mostly being educated, having university degrees, many of them also have traveled internationally and have more of a globally mindset. Even if they aren’t well off, they may have friends or neighbors that have travelled to different countries, or have talked about the news in different countries, and so they can easily integrate into another country and they’re willing to work, or perhaps set up their own business or entrepreneurship and contribute to their new country in many ways.
I couldn't care less of their education level. Migrants could be objectively superior in every single way to Britons, and I still wouldn't want them here. You're part of the problem.
Ahh but Israel gets a pass, just as the Gulf States do. Doesn’t that make you wonder why they are so special? Poland and Hungary seem to have the right idea
Douglas is confused about the laws on immigration (there is no one law on immigration).. Contradictory though it is, a migrant can arrive in the UK with no documentation, claim asylum, and that is legal (hence no migrants are arrested in Dover). Until that law is changed, the law on entering a country illegally (without valid documentation) is irrelevant.
@@lr6477 In law it is only permitted to seek asylum once in the UK, whatever the means of arrival, so even if there were prisons aplenty, the migrants would be allowed to claim asylum and stay. Unless that law is changed, the arrivals will keep increasing. It's that simple. It neds to be reversed, namely, asylum in the UK can ONLY be claimed outside the UK, and those arriving with no valid documentation will be deported immediately and stripped of all valuables to pay for such service.
These people flee their countries yet cannot escape themselves. You simply cannot escape your own mindset - and your mindset is the main cause of your reality. Highly intelligent people like Douglas are the true and only minority in the world, everybody else ist mostly a victim of his own ego. Greetings from a Croatian.
The channel migrants could be taken straight to the Minquiers island 9 miles south of Jersey. This is british territory and uninhabited - they can be deposited there until they get back in their boat and go back to france 5 miles away. If they are less cooperative then they can be deposited on the nearby sandbank instead - they'll be back in their boat when the tide comes up.
We have the World Wide Web to thank for educating everyone as to life around the globe and the fact that we have been saving life in the Third World with modern medicine and foreign aid for decades and so their population has increased and is now out of control.
Chris: "I assume one wants to perpetuate the culture of Europe, rather than..." Douglas: "Don't assume that, Chris! Don't assume that." ... replace it? SPOT ON. Please discuss replacement migration next time as well as the positions of the UN and the WEF towards it.
15:35 - Douglas: "...we have massively overestimated our ability to integrate people..." I think, the problem goes deeper. Our mistake was to ignore that integration is an *active process*, much like learning. One could "be welcomed" (like a guest). But one cannot "be integrated", only integrate oneself. If you don't want to learn a language, culture, system of norms, traditions, values and laws etc., then nobody can teach you. But integrating is hard and all incentives for it are undermined, when you can simply join your own foreign enclave.
I'm 35 years old and for all of my young adult and adult life so far, I was one of those that wouldn't hear a bad word said about immigration. The immigrants I worked with when I moved to London when I was 26 actually laughed at me (in a nice way, we all had a laugh) about how politically correct I was. I like many others scoffed at people who spoke negatively about immigration; I derided them as racists - including Douglas K Murray when I first encountered him, which was via a single tweet on Twitter. My views have almost done a complete about turn. I'm 35 now and I'm genuinely worried about our country, our culture, our history, and about the future. This happened for many reasons, but largely I have simply observed changes and recognised them when previously I couldn't/wouldn't. I started becoming irritated and alarmed at the continual extremely anti-British discourse that is prominent almost everywhere. I started to actually consider, for the first time, that Britain and British culture is actually under threat, and that I decided was wrong. This led me to research people I had previously derided and I decided to actually read something that went counter to my long-held views. This led me to Douglas K Murray. I've not read 'the Strange Death of Europe' and not only do I not disagree with anything Murray writes in it, I'm now deeply, existentially worried for this country.

In my experience of dealing with people from Hong Kong, they are educated and respectful people, they try their best to speak English and they’re incredibly polite during those moments where communication is difficult…it make a difference…they are either independently wealthy or fully intending to be useful members of society! I was in Florence not that long ago and there were what appeared to be Pakistani vendors aggressively hawking these flying light toys in Piazza del Duomo. Here's the fact: the ONLY European politician enforcing his country's laws and politics is Viktor Orban. I mean, like it or not; he's not my favourite person in the world either; but that's how it's been for over a decade now. I mean separating people fleeing famine from people just wanting a bit higher standard, let's go back and ask WHY do people have the luxury to FLEE famine? Why don't Germans and Ukranians and Russians just flee famine and come to the USA instead of planting all that stuff for feeding themselves? Yes I realize Africa is not ideal for the crops but neither is Siberia nor the northern belt. Developing Africa from outside? How MUCH should you actually develop it for people to be happy enbough not to leave? I wager if EU develops it enough to surpass Japan, but without local population having to do any work, just existing on European funds, they might all be happy enough to not invade Italy? Or will a substantial part of population say "ok so now we have everything and we're educated but we're bored, we want to go to Europe anyway"? I'm sorry but this is all bloody nonsense. Why'd I work in a country where working class sees a smartphone as a luxury when I could just live off welfare in a country in which homeless people mock me for having an android instead of an iPhone (yes, I've literally, LITERALLY had that happen to me in Norway)? Oi.
Seems like Britain is seen as a soft touch amd everyone is quite happy to push tje problem onto Britain, whose government is too polite and too afraid of neing seen as nasty to actually do something.
Small island overwhelmed and no economic stability for such an influx. What housing what medical, food, how can such a small place sustain such an influx.
I think the proximate cause of this, whether Europe or the US, is population. Birth rates are dropping in the north and exploding in the south. Mexico has passed 125 million and Central America adds another 180 million on top of that. African population is about 1.5 billion and growing fast.
They do the same in the U.S. with immigration AND gun law. We have lots of gun laws. Your told them all when you take a ccw course. But in practice, they only charge firearm crimes along with other crimes and the firearm crime is always what get plea bargained away to get guilty pleas on other crimes. Law says whoever OWNS the gun is libel for any damage it does regardless of who does it. But they never prosecute the school shooters parents for allowing their kids access to their guns. Same with people who "give" someone a gun.
Have you read Shakespeare, people? Are you unaware of the lengths someone who has power will go to in order to hold onto it?? The only difference here is that the central characters have learned to talk pretty.
Seize the NGO ships. Arrest the captain. Return the migrants to their last previous port of call. Then scuttle the ship at sea or wherever you might like some structure for the fishes.
The UK has had below replacement level population statistics since 1973. Abortion in England and Wales hit an all-time-high last year. Yet we all seem to want unearned income, including good pension returns, from asset price growth. Without immigration, rents could be going down and wage increases could be ahead of general inflation, but the voting demographic doesn't want that type of economy, because it would mean more of those people working for a living. So, we hand-wring about the deaths at sea, but invest in buy-to-let property to earn income from immigrants. The root cause is that since globalisation, it's not feasible for most of us to invest in production. 'Trading' mostly means selling on imported goods at thin margins. So we turn to fixed assets instead, but everyone wants the same opportunities, driving up prices. The short-term answer is to put the rents up, which just leads to more poverty among the renting class. Yet it's better than living in Libya. So, governments will act as if they want to stop the boats, but the Western economy depends on them not stopping the boats.
It’s not illegal to seek asylum, really basic fact. If it was illegal why aren’t they put in prison? We need a faster system to judge who’s swinging the lead or not. We had that system until the current government decided to wilfully hinder the processing in a political game.
Immigrating numerous foreign nations in Europe does no solve problems for those people and countries they are coming from but endangers European ethnic nation's safety and integrity in their motherlands in their own homelands by settling all these numerous foreign nations. Mass immigrations are the most evil crime for both parties. This has to stop and many have to go back. Other solutions must be found
180,000 euros a day just to feed these illegal migrants, and that's based on only 15€ per person.....not to mention housing, health care, waste disposal, and the thousand of people required to assist them. So realistically 650,000 euros a day......I don't want one euro of my tax money going to this.
Interesting conversation although I don’t see anybody in the western countries being strict enough that illegal migration will stop to any decent extent. They either need to make very strict laws that they can send them right back and know what country they can deport them to which is also a problem, but if they cannot know what country they go to jail until they tell them what country. There needs to be consequences to charity groups that help illegals get across to the country and I’m not talking about giving them first aid or not that is just helping people. The borders also need to be defended in someway, such as the navy blocking the borders, which I think would not be popular because the countries are afraid of looking against human rights or something. A quick solve would be just be going with the Navy and block them. Give them a warning a week or month earlier and say they will be warning shots fired and give them a time to leave but no one would do that either so I don’t see any solution to this. I guess, a half generation are so all the western countries will become more like the countries of these Third World countries that the illegal immigrants came from and the western cultures such as the different European cultures will be lost
I dont consider it nationalistic to not want your local population to double overnight, with laregly un skilled agressive young men... if thats nationalistic then sign me up to
Are we all ignorant! the talk and apparent steps from the view of the optics to the people of the said country is just a ploy! All those countries realise the birth rate has decreased and lack of labour for those low paid jobs. They in reality wish to have those immigrants to bolster the economies of each country no mater the initial costs of hotels etc.
Surely the answer is just to ban asylum seekers that come through a safe third country....And NEVER grant them any work visas, benefits or free hotel accommodation....
Depends on the law really. Cannabis for example is not possible to police, if they make protest illegal (Tory policy) that law will be broken by millions as well
It serves Britain right for what James Cameron did to Libya. He basically destroyed the country that had the highest living standards in Africa, look at it now.

The point is that if they come by trafficked dinghies then they are not seeking asylum!!! Why can't some person see the sense of that? true asylum-seekers woud do things legally, and we have plenty who have come that way. they are easily separatable.
Develop Africa, make legal imitation easier, blah, blah, blah. Just don’t allow the boats to land. Full stop. As someone said here the politicians are happy with situation as it is (can’t figure out why) otherwise they would figure out how to fixed it as it has been done before, as has been pointed out in the interview.
I’m in Italy. In small villages and towns, there are groups of young African men hanging around outside supermarkets begging, and in lovely rural traditional towns and just hanging around and the locals hate them. No integration
Your only solution is to remove them yourselves, by force if need be. Some of you might run afoul of the police but a message needs to be sent by the locals. When an entire town bands together and exerts their will, the government will have no choice but to pay attention.
Why don't they mention the elephant in the room which is when these men get asylum they will demand family reunion, so if 7000 land in Italy, it is closer to 30000 eventually

True, most of our ruling class in Europe and America feels no sense of urgency. Somebody needs to strap on some balls and sue the traffickers and NGO's responsible for this problem.
The longer the failure to enforce the law, the failure to carry out the first duty of government, goes on the worse the considiton of the social contract. The more reason every citizen has to consider their government incompetent and harmful to them. And the more reason for every citizen to become both entirely lawless and extremely active in defending themselves, their property, and their nation. In other words, the more governments fail to defend the borders the more the nation slips towards mass lawlessness and civil war.
@@johnwade1095 The social contract in the UK is between Parliament and the people. Although you could argue that since your government is failing to carry out the first duty of government the contract is broken and void,
I lived in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe for 30 years. My opinion is that it is impossible to "integrate" Africans into Western societies - we are too different and attempting it will inevitably lead to tensions and possibly conflict.
It is a question of fairness. UK taxpayers pay into society and, in return, receive certain benefits. When people illegally enter the country and are gifted benefits, funded by the taxpayers of that country, it causes huge resentment. In many cases they are gifted more benefits (24hr access to a doctor, 3* hotels with no energy bills to worry about). This is not racism. It would not matter whatever the ethnic background of the illegals. Would we react the same if the illegals were white, Christian Canadians? I am sure we would. We pay tax in expectation of a social contract with our Government that provides us with, not least, protection of our borders and a duty to spend the taxes that we pay wisely and fairly.
