I would say it's more a stagnation of humanity. Culture hasn't really moved for 20 years. Technology has plateaued and been stagnant for probably 15 years at this point. The internet feels dead and filled with AI trash. Corporations are filled with tens of thousands of NPCs with no vision or drive. Systems and algorithms that use to drive the internet are breaking down. Nothing feels organic or innovative anymore. I think it is fair not to feel passionate about those things because there is nothing really left worth being passionate about. With me personally, I find more value in my faith and my family. Those are the only two things that really matter. Those are worth my passion and focus.

Dude - I 100 percent feel the same way. Making review content isn’t really fun or interesting anymore. Funny you mention car videos, I’ve been getting into that as well, and it’s been so refreshing. Happy that you’ve found something that’s working for you!

I miss the Fail Tech days. Your videos felt unique back then but when you dropped the Fail Tech name, you also seemed to start emulating other bigger RU-vidrs and things changed to just being another generic review channel. I hope this shift in direction gets you back to the energy you had back then.

Do what makes you happy. I have been a graphic designer for 24 years. It has its ups & downs. One thing I've learned is never stop seeking out new things. Create. 👊

Hey man... First, love your content. I think you balance technical information in comparison with personal preference perfectly which is hard for folks to do. For some reason, I can only see your videos if they are pushed to my feed on the side. If I clock on your channel to try and look at all of your videos or to see your back catalog, youtube gives me their 404 channel not found page. Is that something you've done, they've done? Love your content and I hope your passion for going a new direction reignites your desire to continue to create content.

Great to re-discover this channel & you. Always been a subscriber, but yes, honestly, haven't watched a video on here since a while cause I'm not exactly an audiophile. I genuinely loved your perspective on tech with the phone videos. It was honest, real-world advice and hence refreshing! It wasn't every video which is a review of the latest tech, but also pieces that explored how tech should be USEFULL to you, how to get the most VALUE without spending on new tech for no good reason & how older tech compared to today's scenarios. And I loved those! Not to mention that the production quality was also great & I saw you get better over time 🙂 Anyways, all I came here to say is, it's great to re-discover you & this channel. And to re-discover YOU re-discovering yourself & the content you are going to make on this channel. Excited to see whatever you put out on this channel in the future! My best wishes to you! PS: Loved the S21FE video on Android Police & really happy you are on there now & working with them 👍🏼

I remember the, long deleted, days when you'd be talking about B roll, your girlfriend, university and your mental health. You've done well at making vids, it's understandable that you'd want to pace yourself a little. I like it when you do share a little of your self with us. I reckon you would do well to come over to Australia and check out the real Bathurst race. Thanks Ryan for your continued quality content.

I mean it kinda sounds like work overload, 30 videos a month is about a video a day and that implies not taking a day off for yourself. trying to make content for multiple channels is like working multiple jobs, good for a short time but not healthy for an extended period of time. best of luck to you and hope you can find a balance, love your videos when I get to see them. lol

Ultimately, no-one *needs* all these videos though, be it for Android Police, your other channel, or this one. And if you don't do it then someone else will, or some other channel will pop-up to cover similar ground. It sounds to me like you've become totally jaded, and you should probably cut right back or relinquish this channel, and maybe look for a new source of income too. It's easy to use the excuse that 'it's a living' or to justify it by saying you're really good at it, but in the long run that isn't good enough reason to continue doing something that you don't really want to do (same as in any job/ career really). However, I accept that it's not as easy as just jacking it all in. To be blunt, I'm sure this is a great channel (this is my first visit), but I'm happy to move on. And that's genuinely not meant to be any kind-of burn by the way, more to demonstrate my opening line. I sincerely hope you can find the right balance.

@@theryanthomas Yeah I know, it's easier-said-than-done. I have done it myself twice actually, giving-up a retail management job to effectively go on the dole after thinking I might have a serious medical problem that turned-out to be stress, and then many years later I packed-in doing journalism and website editing after ten years, basically because I'd run out-of steam and enthusiasm for it (even though I was good at it). I'm still bouncing around from the latter to be honest, and although I don't have as much money and it's a bit of a struggle, I couldn't imagine doing it again. I also look back and wonder how I managed to put so many hours into it, often getting up to start work just a few hours after I'd gone to bed. Anyway, I've just slightly reworded my original post, but I hope you can see that it was coming from the right place.
