Everyone is bashing on the baseball card guy, he’s just really happy he made a good deal. I don’t think he messed with the cards, just moved it from the table so no one will look at the cards while he was gone
I can relate I'd kill over my collection. Especially when you know its valuable. Numbered cards autographs game used memorabilia yeah someone getting hurt if the damage anything.
As a sports card guy myself, I was shocked you offered so high considering you didn't go through every card. The ones you did, I didn't see anything worth much except the Bo.
It’s always weird to see these sellers get so confused whenever someone makes an offer to just buy it all at once. I guess if you are looking to get more throughout the day but why wait and just get it all right then and there?
Depends really if you are selling things you know might sell for more why sell it for less it's a risk both ways but you can always ask for a number if their offer stands
Because usually when they offer for all the profit they are expecting to get must pay a lot (especially if its up in the 1k) so you would want to do a quick check on what your selling. Don't want to get scamed a lot for some quick cash.
@@temujinkhan6326 I'm always waiting to see a seller add up all the items in the pile and give them the exact price. "How much do you want for all this?" Hold on, let me add up all the prices on the items, that's what you owe.
OK people... To all of you who think the baseball card guy "took out" good cards consider this: Why would he tell him about cards after the deal was done? He already sold the cards - so why would he bother assuring the buyer after the fact? MAYBE - JUST MAYBE - he wanted to make sure he was right and there was some good value in there so he wouldn't cheat the buyer! Have you considered that POV? And maybe the reason why he seems relieved is that he just 1: got a 1000$ in hand, 2: he got right of what is probably all of his "extras" in one go - listen to what he says "I hate piecing them out" (Meaning he doesn't enjoy the selling part of his hobby), and 3: he just made sure he didn't screw over the guy who is obviously doing a Vlog about the trade - which would make him look like a giant dick if he did! Frankly - "calling him out" is pretty damn low considering how he actually behaves. The fact that he looked through them and points out where the value is - is just being helpful - and trying to help the guys who just dropped 1000$ into his palm have some peace of mind with his purchase! So stop it seriously! It's not fair or right people!
Of course he’s gonna point out some cards to let him know it’s worth it. Also, the fact that he talked about specific cards in there when he came back shows he at least looked at them when he left. And I didn’t notice it before, but they (him AND his wife) look nervous af when he returned
Did you notice that he'd turned the box of cards around while you were gone? Think maybe he took some of those high dollar cards out? I'd have never left him alone with 'em, just saying...
The "antique ear thing" (LOL) is a combination ophthalmoscope/otoscope, which are fancy words meaning "look into the eyes and ears. The wider piece with the dial is what doctors (and nurses) look into eyes with, to check them. The round one hooks on and then you have to choose which size of the "pointy" things to use, depending on the patient's size and whether you're looking into ears or up the nose. There is definitely a right way to use these, so they are NOT toys to be played around with. Batteries go into the long round handle. Without training in the use of them, a worst-case scenario would result in blindness or a perforated eardrum. It is pretty cool though. Great scores today!
Hi John, the garage sales have been great. I’m wondering though what happened to the “what sold” format videos? Are you uploading them somewhere else or not at all?
do you know his ebay account? It's as simple as going on their account and hitting completed, and sold to see what he sold. These clowns have almost ruined the reselling business with their clown videos that always make it look easier than it really is. Simply seeing what items sell on ebay is by far the best tool any reseller could use. Not many seem to realize that. Want to know what kinds of used jeans sell for $30+? Simply filter by completed, used 30+? See how simple it is?
@@kennethwyant9813 I’m a full time reseller as well my friend. Seeing what he buys and then seeing it sell either super fast/super slow visually helps me to continue to learn and grab more. My amazon sales were 230k last year and watching people like John help me increase that number where I’m not as focused on for eBay. I can look through his feedbacks and solds but god damn that’s more boring than watching a 20 minute video
I can actually say I've done that. Smileys Flea Market in Fleacher NC. Bought out a guy in the yard for a grand. Really enjoy your content. Please don't change a thing.
I thought he was a really nice guy and very helpful too, pointing out the best 3 cards etc , people are so cynical these days and think everyone must be shady , its sad really
@@David-ft3wp i know to many out there in this world all for self lying scumbags. i would not trust and leave them while i get money i would go get money then make the deal i get it. just know me being one of them there still honest people out there.
He was originally asking $1500 so he may feel justified to take a few of them. Don't negotiate with people to barter them down and expect them to not feel like making it "fair" for themselves. It's just the way people are.
The sad part about garage sales and the internet is that garage sales is now inundated with shop/ebay sellers getting there very early looking to grab all the good stuff and leave the crap for genuine buyers.
@@marystarzyk2984 not true at all. I made my biggest purchase of $400 only three or four months into my eBay “career”. That’s a pretty big chunk of change and scary to do so early. Overtime, I’ve become comfortable enough to spend $100-200 on one sale more often without a second thought because I’ve done my research. It’s about being knowledgeable in the category and becoming more confident in your research and yourself. Also as you become used to making deals and buying bulk, you can quickly do some math in your head to manage risk and basically not lose if things don’t go as expected. It’s not just RU-vid, sure it helps but it’s a very small % of why he’s able to drop 1K. Hell, I’m not even a year into reselling and I’m almost comfortable enough to do that.
The prices amaze Me. I live near Seattle wa, and all those items would have been hundreds of dollars ! I have considered moving out of state for that very reason. Great job on the Good finds, and killer Prices ! Love your channel and the input. I only follow 2 people and your one of them.thanks so much. Rick.
Seattle was a beautiful city. She's gone now. Move out while you can. My son & wife just move to Bellevue. Homeless druggies were becoming a big issue.
Just a question and you may have already explained this but why haven’t you posted any eBay order videos lately. Those are some of my favorites but anyways keep up the good work!
Most likely because it takes a lot of time to dp those vids including the one the one we are watching. Editing Is LONG. I think him and Lonie just said forget about it. More time on selling and spurcing vs video editing.
I'm just curious, do you ever feel bad if you buy something really cheap knowing it's worth a lot? I know you need to make money to survive, im just wondering.
Been loving the content. Relatively new here, past 2 weeks or so. Do you ever do videos about your profit margins with a spreadsheet and all that? I would love to watch that lol.
Yes that would be interesting and then a follow up with those newly minted I.R.S Agents pounding on your door at seven in the morning wanting their cut
if the aaron judge rookie red 87 worth about 1k his money back and yellow chrome depends on year and # 250.00-5k in there like he said he did very well
John , I thought everyone goes to garage sales with $1,000.00 cash on them . lol . I have a pistol lock box under my drivers seat which is steal cable tied to the seat for when I go tp large sales . I keep the extra cash in the box and not on me .
if a thief notices that while going through your vehicle, they won't give up, lol. That's just dumb. Better to just hide your cash under carpeting, behind the dash, ect
@@eaglerider1826 Career thieves carry tools with them. One of those cordless battery operated angle grinders will cut through anything. If a thief sees that, they will assume there is something valuable.
@@kennethwyant9813 I had to laugh at this comment . So you are saying that while I'm at a yard sale that I need to watch out for some guy caring a cordless grinder . I'm sure that is going to happen , and no one including me will notice the sound and the sparks coming from my truck after no one heard him break my window to get inside the locked truck and not hear the alarm going off . As I stated before the box is hidden under the seat . I do not go to yard sales in rough neighborhoods and neither does John or anyone with common sense .
@@eaglerider1826 well part time pickers recently released a video where someone broke into his locked vehicle in broad daylight while shopping a flea market. It's unlikely, but I'd rather not hide my cash in a lockbox that screams I'm valuable.
In Ireland I visited a car boot sale and got a bunch of basketball cards all were certified by a grading company paid 200€ for a box and thst was 2 years ago and sold them 2 days ago for 1,500€ pretty shocked at what u can find at yard sales
Im a guy without a job.. Thank you for a great vid.. My wife and I have been hitting estate and garage sales since 2016, this pandemic has put me out of a job and health issues have hindered job availability. So that being said I have spent all summer rummaging through sales and now have a card collection worth about 4K and spend less than $500... Another good buy was a $500 corner curio cabinet made in the late 40s we picked up for $50.. Thank you covid..
You gotta be careful with card collectors. They take the valuable cards and will bulk sell them to make them seem more valuable. I bought 4000 cards for 50 bucks, threw 200-300 of them in a smaller box and sold 10 boxes for 20 bucks each and kept the rest. I hope you can score profit on it! Please keep us updated.
I love seeing what is worth something in America compared to UK. You wouldn’t get anything for vhs tapes and old walkie talkies or vhs machines. I have a huge bag full of old cameras and video cameras and I can’t even give them away. Crazy!
I was scrolling thru the comments before I made one to see if someone corrected this medical device identity. Did make me smile to hear cystoscope. If you know what a cysto is and what it is used for, your ears and eyes are a little North from there!! Always enjoy.
Horrible business man. You dont offer to buy a miscellaneous of items, and then leave to go get the cash. You go prepared with the money. Otherwise you're just asking to get jipped
That was so exciting You buying the stereo equipment and those sports cards. Made My adrenaline go up too! Thanks for sharing always Brother 😊👍♥️🇨🇦🇺🇸🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🎉💯💯
That medical item is an otoscope and ophthalmascope. They are still used today in some older offices and jails! Hope you make a good profit on that one.
Would love to go around with you to experience these garage sales. I live in the UK and we have boot sales which is like a market but you bring your own stuff and sell it out of your car boot.
I was surprised you didn't pick up the Sony 4k blu ray player from the sale you got the Pioneer stuff from. It looked to be one of the better Sony models and those can be anywhere from 150-400 dollars.
As a sports card seller, I’m skeptical you will make your money back in those cards. Relic and auto cards ago average players are pretty worthless. Even trying to get $3-5 a piece, they will take forever and most wont sell. Hopefully you find a few gems in there and can turn a profit. I use to buy lots like that, but now I cherry pick the cards I know will sell or I only purchase if they are a ridiculous discount. Keep us updated on the cards.
He wanted 1500 and you got him down to 1000 but left, you know darn well he took some out to even out what he originally wanted.. That's a dumb roomie move right there 😂😂
LESSON: Always bring along more cash than you'll ever need, just in case. Then again, $1,000 in cash is way more than what we'd normally carry in our wallets, but... After seeing this video, guys. We may just have to put $1,500 or $2,000 in our wallets (or $500 in the wallet, and $1,500 in the locked glove box of the car). You never know when you might come across this type of find.
Wife drove me 32 miles at over 85mph while I called all the banks in the area. Made it by 2 minutes. Saturday only 2 were open till noon. Needed $5000 cash for a trailer, they wouldnt take a check. Nice enough that they just took back up offers for the hour I rushed to the bank.
Sounds , like way over paid...give a 100$ bucks...Aaron Judge must be big $$$ there...here in California Linden where Judge was born and raised...there going for 5$ bucks rookie card...wow...I would be a millionaire if you bought my collection
I'm so glad that as an Early Bird you didn't try and make a deal. The way we run our once a year sale is for the first 2 hours we don't take offers. We figure it is the cream at that point. I've learned from watching you. I am an early Ebay seller that gave up for a number of years after the straw that broke the camels back. I started selling again last year because in FL you just can't get decent money at a garage sale. A piece for $40 I put out for sale didn't and I listed it on Ebay auction and got $140. That was the boost to restart. Thanx for all the help you have given.
I forgot the name of the content creator...... I saw so many Bengals items and shirts and reds stuff too. Then @12:09 --------- I saw the hat and knew (which I figured) it was in the Cincinnati area !!! Hint---Cincinnati picker ;)
I had a lady buy my whole sale I laughed and threw in the signs told her to take it home and start a small business never had to drag anything back in the house
I have a question. Why is it you have to ask a price on an item? I’ve been watching a lot of these garage sale videos (for flipping) and almost always you have to ask the price.I hate to ask for prices I always price everything.
Just wanted to let you know, I work at a sports card store and we tend to also post things on eBay, never ever ever sell like that in bulk 9 times out of 10 you’ll get way less money
Some people don't want to sell 2,000+ cards individually. It's a lot of work to list/sell them like that. Sell how you want to sell. Buy how you want to buy.
Hey John I saw one of the cards was a 1971 topps all star Johnny bench I am trying to do that so I have the bench but do you have any other ones in that collection I would love to purchase something from you
I've seen many vids on yard sales n they have good to awesome stuff. I live in South Texas n most yard sales are like 80-90% old clothes n the test is junk. Just dont see yard sales like this down hete
So funny I just dropped 1500 today on a guy's video game collection at a yard sale with alot of consoles there was so much well worth more than I paid lol.
Hi frm Australia😀I've seen only afew of your videos,so I'm still new but am now a subscriber. Thanks John for the content. Wow to the haul you got. Great finds😄Learnt something new today👍🏻
