Hmmmm.... I'm not a trucker. I'm a computer engineer. But after watching some of these "what I make" videos i can only conclude that companies have really crunched an algorithm that will chew up their human asset just before the lease is up. Then they get their hard asset back paid for and their freight hauled for practically nothing. It's sadistically genius. Edit: i bet 90% of leases aren't seen to the end.

I’m glad that you are showing the real truth about LP. But if you take taxes out of that your check would’ve been about $250. Be safe driver.

I can recommend you a company that what you are doing you will be able to take out more than this and lower expenses if you are interested let me know. I believe if you working that hard you deserve more take home.

I have tried both ways to lease on. The first was leasing a Vehicle through the company. To be honest I could earn a living but the reality was I was not doing any better than being a company driver. So I gave up that lease and went back to the drawing board, only this time I looked at all of the options open to me. The first thing I realised was how much cheaper it was going to be to buy a Truck myself. In fact for a 2019 Cascadia with under 400,000 miles was after the deposit ( as low as it was possible to put down ) My monthly payments are about $975.00 a lot less than I was paying to lease a vehicle from the company. Plus as I owned the Truck some of the payments being levied on me with there lease did not apply to me. 12 months on and I am so glad that I took this route. I have much better revenue . ( I am on a percentage not miles ) it has worked for me.

I intend to purchase the vehicle. I wanted to test drive a truck for a bit then purchase it. All while waiting for the market to improve and showing what a lease operator makes.

@@truckingthesevenseas Sensible way to dip your toe into the Trucking ownership world. I always look at life this way... "It will be alright in the end. And if its not. Then its not the end". Best of luck for your future.

I myself am a new driver looking to get into a lease purchase program. I've cut most of my expenses and payed off a good chunk of my debt. Soon once my lease ends, I am looking to go OTR and get out of Florida for a while and save as much as I can. I keep hearing 50/50 about lease purchase programs, and I have my reasons for doing it, but the hard part is finding the right one. Your video's are very informative and to tell you the truth. I have stuff fall out the back of my trailer when I put them to the docks, it happens more frequently than you would think. Especially the china boxes.

If you’re a new driver you need to wait at least a year to get the job under your belt. There are decent l/p but many are a scam. When they say walk away it goes both ways. They can take the truck back even as you make the last payment. Have the contract and take to a lawyer to read. Have a mechanic that’s not part of the company look at the truck and you’re going to want to know every number.

Think you need to push a bit harder and work full weeks. Cash flow kills more businesses you need to work harder for longer to build a it of a buffer. And no f**k ups

You need more miles, right. Don't take such small trips. Can u decline the small ones?

Yes but I'm staying somewhat local due to Holidays and the market is better in the west...
@JoshsTruckingadventures
@JoshsTruckingadventures 7 месяцев назад
Well you don’t get pay checks. Lol I know it’s hard to switch when you become a l/p. You get settlements. Also you’re going to want to figure out how to pay yourself. Because you’re going to want that money to stay in the business account and not use money out of the business if that makes sense. I love how you do it. I was going to do l/p but decided against it there as pulling a van wasn’t wanted to do

Ya all true. I'll probably contact an account soon... But I'm keeping track of everything so I'm not too worried.
@JoshsTruckingadventures

@@truckingthesevenseas oh I have no doubt. I just don’t want people who aren’t like you to jump in a l/p and think all the money they make they can use for personal. I mean technically they can but they won’t last. You know what I mean haha

When you say cover, does knight pay the full bill on certain maintenance expenses or is it discounts?
@truckingthesevenseas
@truckingthesevenseas 7 месяцев назад
Just discounts. They will say some stuff is covered 100% but then there is at a minimum a 15% "admin fee" that you have to pay. So for instance I think electrical costs are "100%" covered but you pay 15% admin fee... So more like 85%. Other issues are covered like 90-60% plus the admin fee... I need to do a video on it all.

Lease to purchase or just straight lease? Meaning you give them the truck back
@truckingthesevenseas
@truckingthesevenseas 7 месяцев назад
Lease purchase. However it is a walk away lease so I can give the truck back if I choose...
@mr3000gtman
@mr3000gtman 7 месяцев назад
@truckingthesevenseas thats not bad, there's a few people that just do straight lease without option to purchase it. I think those are bad ideas..but a lease purchase gives u a opportunity.
