Huge thanks to Max and Girardo & Co for letting me loose in this monster!! Extra content on my Instagram: @KiddinaSweetShop Follow Girardo & Co: / girardoandco Follow Max: / maxgirardo #groupb #lanciadelta #rallycar
Only the Italians could go full mental by putting on a supercharger and a turbo. Audi revolutionised rallying, but Lancia perfected it. Incredible that a Delta S4 sold for over a million dollars in 2019. Jodie I have to say that I was turning green with envy watching you drive that car, soooooooooooooooo jealous.
As a rally aficionado and Group B in particular, this is the peak of Engineering. 1.8l engine, supercharged and turbocharged and the Lancia Engineers managed to wring out nearly 500bhp from the thing and a sub 3 second 0-60. Have to say, Jodie, I’m instantly jealous.
If you think the Tri-flux engine prototype (for Delta ecv2) it's locked in a Beppe Volta garage!!!!!!!😮😮😢😢 Greets from Italy 😂😂😂 An Italian former mountain trooper Alpini with a Delta integrale Evo2 in my back yard!!!!😅😅😅🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
I hope you know that for an Italian, an old Lancia fan, to see you get in and drive the Delta S4 triggers the highest level of 'envy' in a good, automotive sense. Wonderful car, incredible and unmistakable 'sound'. Wonderful video. GRAZIE !!!!
I worked at a Lancia Workshop for Years...propablyo the golden Years with Lancia Fulvia, Beta Coupe and the Delta Integrales. Such an S4 never found the Way to us ! Good Luck on the Cannonball ! From Germany, Rudi🏁
I had the privilege of seeing this asphalt monster on the Sintra stages, what a thrill! The sound of this engine gave me goosebumps. Henri Toivonen was my favorite driver, I stopped following rallies after the fateful day he left us.
Oh the nostalgia! I used to camp in forests for hours just to catch a glimpse of these back in the day! Awesome and thank you! Super envious! Amazing follow up video
@@vonsauerkraut the nickname checks out. Are you maybe German with your ass still burning hot after so many years due to S4 and the 3 numbers from hell 037, 155 and 156?
Jodie, your adventures on this channel are so cool. What an awesome piece of Group B history. You drove that Lancia the way it needs to be driven. MEGA!
I'm not jealous honestly. 😂 Waaaw. The Group B car of all Group B cars. I absolutely love the Delta S4s. Brilliant Italian engineering at its very pinnacle.
Amazing car and amazing opportunity. Top man Max for sllowing it. Such an incredible period in car design, mad rules and ballsy racers. Lancia wish you were still here!!
Awesome video! I loved these cars back in the day!! I also rate the Grand Prix SCJ101 neon to the max Swatch. Cool watch to wear in that car. Thanks again, Jodie, for great content.
Proper piece of kit bring back the eighties,I remember these beasts coming through the forest back in the day marshalling. Many thanks for sharing cheers
Jodi you have to pinch yourself, driving this car is one of the things I still got on my bucket list, so special, so much more rarer than a Ferrari this is an absolute weapon of a car. Only a few were made and your driving one, you lucky girl! Hats off to Max that he let you drive this icon and trust you with it, but looking at your face and listening to your comment it was a blast, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Please keep those amazing vids coming and can't wait for the next one.
A rare beast on the streets, many years ago they ran a stage of the Lombard RAC Rally through Wigan and I got caught between some of the cars in my old Cortina on the road stage, I remember Ari Vatanen being at the side of me at traffic lights, I'm sure he drove a Delta at some point. Happy days before Gatso..
somehow the king of the group B era is underrated and extremely hard to see, and that is the Peugeot 205 t16. Would love to see one in the same conditions this S4 is.
Fantastic. I think this is Markku Allen's 86 RAC car (?). I worked in a bar in Harrogate opposite the exhibition Hall where scruntineering took place and Markku Alen, Juha Kankkunen, Penti Airikkala, Timo Salonen and Stig Blomquist all came in for a beer! I was soooo star struck. Lucky enough to see this car, and many many others, at Rudding Park and Harewood special stages, never forget it! Jodi does, as always, a fabulous job!!! Thanks...
I remember seeing the Delta S4 in rallycross after the banning of GpB rally cars and the BHP was increased. I don't know how the GrB boys and girl (Mouton) kept them going in the right direction on the loose stuff, let alone tarmac stages. Awesome👍🏻 Thanks for this and more JK❤
These cars are something else, sure modern cars are more capable, but with these old school beasts, YOU are the conductor of a rag tag orchestra in charge of giving a world class symphony orchestration performance, get it right and its spot on. The full power, might and performance is within the grasp of your hands, if only you dare.
Wow jodie that drive in the rally car looked so much fun.but very noisy. So pleased you had a great experience in it and a great time.that place max owns looks so amazing wow! Very big.and some really awesome super cars .this video was an awesome amazing watch.thank you so much jodie.really looking forward to the next one already.i would love to come on one of your super car videos /vlog one day in the future See you on the next video jodie.from Dan.m🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘
Brilliant driving and you have more skills than most of us. That must be a really challenging drive but what an opportunity. I love rally Lancias. Must be an 037 next!
I was lucky to see these Group B cars race in period - so awesomely quick that the front of the cars would rise up under each gear change. But imagine doing that speed on gravel - the drivers such as Kankunen and Alen were skilful and brave..
You are the most genuinely enthusiastic car video maker on RU-vid at the moment. Love your content. Sweetshop rules. Ps, great driving skills too.I wish yer man would calm down with the constant chatter, uncool.
What a machine; the sound quality is excellent. Just imagine what it would be like with Henri Toivonen driving it, it looks quite tricky to drive, so one can only imagine the ability he must have had! On long rally stages in the dark it must have been exhausting to drive with crowds of people either side.
How awesome is that. As an 80s kid, my dad went out and bought a brand new ‘85 205 GRD after watching the 205 T16. Which is still my first lottery win car.
