You are not alone, I grew up poor also, in a 2-room house, with no bathroom, had to use an outhouse and we lived in Wisconsin, talk about the cold you literally got your butt frozen off going to the outhouse. We lived for 9 years in that house, the second room was a large bedroom for 2 girls(bunk beds), my 2 brothers, and my parents in the middle. We moved to Texas when I was in 9th grade, Weslaco Tx, and a year later to Pasadena, and another year later to Houston. I ran away at 17 with my then boyfriend 26 yo, we married and a year later I left after being continuously beaten. Anyway, note to any girl out there don't marry men who are way older than you. I now have been married to a guy who is only 2 yrs older than me for 38 yrs. Anyway, where I was going to go with this, is that as far as money goes you should set aside a certain amount of money each month, and call it your reward money, if there is nothing you want then leave it and then when there is something you really want and you hopefully won't feel guilty, especially if you have met all your required bills.
