Black is very very hard to lift. I went through that last April when I was trying to go rose gold and eventually into blonde. I had to do a safe step system with my stylist. Now I’m a burgundy red. I think red looks good on you.
I use hair paint wax on my hair when I want to color it and I prefer that so I can switch it up and remove it as well! It looks good girl! Glad it worked out in the end ❤😍
Girl, I haven’t watched one of your videos in a long ass time. I am so surprised to see that you decided to go burgundy! I love the end result. Patches or no patches I like the slight contrast in colors. Still funnier than hell! You look marvelous!
Gorgeous burgundy color and it looks fantastic on your skin tone 😍 and I agree with doing a touch up in the parts that stayed dark. Overall good job! 👍🏼
Your hair looks amazing! I’m so happy you love your hair rn bc there been so many videos that you’ve been open about not loving your hair recently. We love to see you getting that love back!!! Amazing vid!
It’s totally ok to try new things with your hair that’s part of the fun! No shade amber but everybody if you worked hard to grow your hair out do extensive research before dying your hair. I’ve been researching for two weeks and I have virgin hair. If you don’t have virgin hair it’s much more risky/unpredictable. Also, ALWAYS do a patch test so you know what to expect!!
Looks amazing with your Skintone! It really makes your eyes pop! Goes so well together! 🤩I think for your mids & ends you should've used a higher developer but overall you fixed it really good
These non bleaching permanent hair dyes still have bleaching agents in them. Those agents can still be very damaging as actual bleach. I had to let go of permanent dyes becuz my hair would break off quicker then it would grow. Henna is a great natural alternative if you want burgandy after multiple treatments.
You do realize henna is more difficult to remove than actual dye right? Plus permanent hair dye doesn’t have bleaching agents in it. If you use a higher developer it will lift your natural color a little bit but if you mix it with 10 to 20 volume its not gonna have bleaching agents in it. I dyed my hair with black box dye for 2 and a half years and my hair was healthy. If u take care of your hair your hair won’t break off unless your hair is naturally very thin and fragile.
It looks good on you! I actually have had red hair since the start of 2020 trying to relive my 20’s lol and now I’m slowly trying to rid my hair of it, it’s a slow process without using chemical removers. I can’t get over how good it looks on you!
Color doesn't lift color. I'm so sorry this happened. I wish I could fix it for you. Red fades the fastest. I'm still in the middle of the video. I hope it turns out.
I love your new hair color, Amber!!!! Love the fact that you are just doing you for a change!!! I color my hair using the darkest brown since my natural hair is a lighter, reddish brown. You ROCK!!!!
The patchiness after using the color remover adds dimension to the color! And the more dramatic areas are not in the front so it will be easy to camouflage.
I still would have gone to a professional because it’s not perfect and you probably did some unnecessary damage, but I agree it did turn out surprisingly well and the color is really pretty. I def like the red on you. It really pops. And you have beautiful hair
I chose the same color, but with weave lol I learned my lesson with dye 2 years ago when I ruined my hair, it was so bad my hair tangled easily it was painful and dry
This happened to me when I attempted to dye my hair red. The black dye needs to be lifted to take the red color. Overall, red was just too high maintenance for me because red dye fades faster.
I loooove this colour , especially if you choose to die your hair on natural brunette. Also, if you want to try a new hair style in the future, you can try to do an ombre or balayagecolouring, that way you still have your natural hair but a part of it coloured . A quick tip - if you want to remove hair dye, especially red then use coconut oil hair masks . Coconut oil removes the dye and it also gives you a deep conditioning . My mother uses it as a hair mask very often when she wants to get rid of her colour , but withought bleaching it . It takes longer , but it is saver. Also, sea salt water helps remove the dye. The only tip is using a clarifying shampoo or head and shoulders shampoo , which is basically a clarifying shampoo - that is why hair stylist DO NOT recommend it on dyed hair because it removes all the dye faster...... Take care , honey 💕💗
I love the colour! I think the issue was the ends maybe had some sort of colour on them? that product is designed for virgin hair so thats probably why your ends didn't lift like your roots/mids did, i see the colour remover really helped it lift loove the colour! xx
Only thing I was thinking of this whole.entire video was "I wonder what Brad Mondo would say about this process 🤣." I actually really love the end result!!!!! It turned out really good. I was screaming, please Amber don't dye it again...glad you're waiting a bit to see how it turns out after a few washes. Red dye tend to wash out fast.
It's logical that you were able to lighten AFTER the color because Majicontrast uses direct dyes that are not sensitive to oxidation of bleach, so the bleach lightened the underlying pigment (either natural or from the previous dyes) without destroying the freshly deposited red dyes 😉 Do your roots with a lower strength peroxide to avoid hot roots, and refresh the length with Majicontrast without peroxide, just mix it with the same amount of water or runny conditioner (I've done that many times on clients hair) 🤗
I am so glad i came across your video! I dyed my hair burgundy a week ago and the same thing happened to me. My roots look good, but my ends are black. Thanks to you I know how to fix it! Thanks Much!
Girllll it probably worked for the other ladies so well because maybe their hair was naturally black instead of dyed black?? You should have definitely bleached your hair before dying it, because black hair dye is one of the hardest colors to get rid of once you put it on your hair... even if you had just bleached it to an orangish state, it would have made that burgundy color POP! BUUUT it is what it is girl and I'm sure you learned a lot through this process without me putting in my two cents lol HOWEVER I love how the red and magenta blended together, and burgundy would be such a beautiful killer look on you😍😍
I love it, i. Happy that it didnt ruin your beautiful hair, honestly i was scared of the possible damage u might cause , i knew the color would look great on u but i was clinching my teeth worrying about the possible damage, again i love it😍😍😍💯
You’re stunning with your curly Autumn fro ! This is a lovely mistake 😂 you 👀 look like the Fun Mom! So beautiful 🤩 I look forward to your next hairstyle 💇♀️ ❤️
I like it. I think burgundy looks good on y I ur skintone. I am your skintone and that's my go to color. The only one I actually like on me besides brown personally. It's summertime and it's a lighter color and change and it's fun. I think you did a good job.
You raked the dye through with your hands instead of the application brush that's why it was initially patchy looking. The 2nd round process turned out lovely.. that burgundy color is absolutely beautiful but please be careful with the dying you don't want to over process you lovely tresses🙂
🎉🎉imma call it mom dye hair day🎉🎉 Also for the teens going back to school I was think like hair styles you think would be cool. My daughter is outta school so I'm thinking about the other kiddos or teens.
Beautiful color 😍 That was my go to color before black ☺️ whenever I did burgundy or plum, my Mother ALWAYS did it for me because I had so much hair. Now I definitely couldn't do it by myself, I would look like a Dalmatian 🤭 I have black t-shirts & towels specifically for when I color my hair.
Hair color and developer ratio should be 1:2. 1 part color 2 part developer. You shouldn’t focus on consistency. Exact measurements are important when coloring hair. It’s a chemical process. And color cannot lift color. So your past with consistent black hair dye scares me 😩 You probably should’ve used a color remover or do a quick low developer bleach wash. I wish you would’ve asked for tips and suggestions first LOL could’ve avoided the hiccups 😩😩 I’m sure the result is still cute, tho. I’m not finished watching yet. It’s just when you were mixing the color it triggered me LOL Just saw the end result! Very pretty I love this color. I like how it’s kinda dark but still obviously reddish burgundy. It almost looks natural LOL
