I don't have any specific recipes to share, but some general helpful tips I learned in the kitchen. 1. Invest in a variety of spices. Even if something seems bland on first taste, adding your favorite spices to it will vastly improve any dish. 1 part 2. I would recommend staying away from spice packets since they use a lot of salt for the actual flavoring and preserving. Most foods only use 3-5 spices anyway unless you are following a specific recipe calling for more. 2. Invest in a large crockpot/slow cooker. Most of the time you can toss everything in at lunch, and come back at dinner time to a delicious meal with minimal effort put into it. 3. There's no such thing as making too much food. Portion out what you are eating right now, and then put away/freeze all the leftovers. 4. Experiment. Try new vegetables, new fruits, new meats, new spices, new ways of cooking things, etc. I personally hate plain celery but use it in nearly every soup and in my tomato sauce for flavor. 5. Research and reach out. You could be surprised by the knowledge others have, what recipes you find, what tips and tricks you find, and it helps you avoid mistakes in the future.

Ryan you should start eating hummus, pitas, and falafel. Vegetables can taste good you just need to give them a chance. Now, American vegetarian food is generally crap but if you look to Asian cuisine you’ll be much better off. Also Mexican food can be vegetarian too.

A bit obsessed with this recipe so I’ll share. It’s easy to cook and it uses capers (which I love), so it stands out from my other meals. You can make a lot, freeze it, and serve it over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta. Honestly cooking once or twice a week and making a lot of food that u can just heat up would probably work well for you. Easy chicken picatta (2 servings for me, w a carb) -1 lemon (or lemon juice) -butter -flour -olive oil -chicken breast -capers -chicken stock (I use bouillon cubes) 1. Cut the chicken into thin strips and season with salt and pepper, coat with flour 2. Throw a quarter of a stick of butter on a medium-heat pan with about the same amount of oil. Whisk it around so the butter melts and doesn’t burn 3. Pur ur chicken in there and let it cook for 3 minutes. Flip and let it cook for another 2 minutes, then put it to the side (I usually just put it in the bowl I’m going to be eating with, honestly) 4. Don’t clean out ur pan and add 1/2 cups of chicken stock and some capers. If you’re using a real lemon, i juice one half and cut the other half into slices and throw that in. I usually use 2 tablespoons of capers bc I love me some capers. Turn up the heat so it boils then turn it back down to low. Scrape the pan w ur spatula/whatever because all the stuff at the bottom of the pan is delicious and you’re gonna wanna eat it. -put the sauce on top of ur chicken. Voila If you want the lemony taste to be greater, simply use more lemon. I also like to throw some scallions in there with the capers and all. Also, If you hate frying, you can cook the chicken in your oven or toaster oven or pan-fry it with like half the amount of butter/oil. These are healthier options, and frying can be a bit dangerous, as the hot oil likes to “spit” Also, if you like seafood, throw some butter in a pan and fry scallops. They can overcook easily, so u basically cook them for like 3 minutes on one side and 1 minute in the other. Very buttery! I’d eat with a side of rice and whatever veggies you like

Fried Rice with frozen Veg! Cook white rice in advance, maybe for 2-4 meals. 1:2 ratio rice : water Hot frying pan with oil and garlic. Throw in a half pack of frozen mixed vegetables. Add rice, soy sauce, and sesame seed oil to taste. Done! You can also add protein like chicken, steak, pork, or shrimp before the veg. Pre-cook it and cube it before adding. Also a couple eggs thrown in with the garlic lightly cooked are very nice. can be made healthier with low salt soy sauce and using a healthier oil (like canola instead of vegetable oil) You the Bee's Knees dude!

Got another favorite. Homemade Frito Pie. Brown a pound of ground beef in a pot. Once it is mostly brown, dump out the meat juices/fat add a can of diced tomatoes and a can of black beans. You can leave the juices in if you want, but itll take a little longer to reduce. Add some taco seasoning and let it stew until its nice and chili-like. Once it's ready, dump that goodness on some fritos in a bowl and add shredded cheese and hot sauce. (I add chopped red onions too, but it's optional). This is considerably healthier than dumping a can of hormel chili and some cheez whiz into a bowl with fritos (I grew up doing this). Enjoy!

This is pretty much all I ate when I first started working out and getting healthy. Definetly go with the Turkey. Mine as well make it a bit leaner. I used yogurt in place of sour cream and now I like it more than sour cream. This is grilled chicken (George Forman) with steamed veggies. You can pick up a million pre-made seasoning packs or maranade at the store and eventually level up to just making your own stuff as you get adventurous. I lost over 40 lbs in about 90 days. That being said, I also was doing an hour at the gym five days a week. Nothing special though.

Something pretty easy, healthy, with a lot of variety is oatmeal. 2 parts water to 1 part oats, always salt it a bit but don't sweeten the water, you can put whatever spices you want in it beforehand though. Put it on medium heat and stir it every now and then so it won't stick to the bottom and burn. I like boiling it up with cinnamon and then serve it with some jam of whatever, jam feels like it'd be unhealthy but it has less calories than you'd imagine, at least here in Sweden. You could also go savory, by putting a stockcube in the water or just ready to go stock for added flavor and also add ground pepper to it. Add some oregano or any other similar herbs if you want to. Maybe fry up some veg like tomatoes, bellpeppers, red onions, an egg works nicely. I like for the oats have a bit more texture in that case though. If you want meat with it, sausage probably isn't the healthiest option but it works, you could probably chop up a chicken breast and fry that instead though.
@raysfan75

Figure I’ll throw an idea or two in here: 1. take a chicken breast/thigh, cut it in half to make it thinner. Lightly cover with olive oil, spice to your liking, cook in pan for 10 or so minutes. Can add a bag of steamed veggies (easy to throw in microwave while cooking) or throw some rice in a rice cooker and you have a full meal. Maybe both! 2. Eggs cooked any way are a good source of protein. Can add yogurt w/ granola, slice of toast with peanut butter, bacon, anything! 3. Buy some frozen fruit mix and make your own smoothies. Can add protein powder, peanut butter, yogurt, whatever you like best. Hope I can help, love the channel.

How about Balsamic Chicken? Great if you like vinegary things like pickles or salt and vinegar chips. Largely unattended after browning the chicken. About 30 minutes -Put a bit of olive oil in a pan -Take a package of chicken fryer strips and season with choice of seasonings (I use Lawry's, a bit of onion powder and a bit of garlic powder) -brown on both sides over medium heat -Cut up half an onion while browning chicken. I prefer larger chunks, not diced -Turn temp to medium low heat -Pour a good amount of balsamic vinegar over the chicken -Take onion and throw in pan -Take can of diced tomatoes and pour on top it all -Pour in more balsamic vinegar over the whole mixture, really making sure it gets in there - Cover and let sit for like 20- 30 minutes or until most of the liquid has cooked off and the chicken temps out -Eat One of my favorite meals. I use the chicken strips because I think the balsamic taste permeates it better than breasts

I never thought I'd say it but roasted veg now feels like a guilty pleasure my dude. cut up whatever veg you have like onions, peppers, broccoli, zucchini and cover them in salt, pepper, garlic, oil and soy sauce. Roast them for 20/25 mins (longer than 10 mins but you can sit on that round behind the whole time) and you're good to go! You can then add these to anything like noodles, rice or pasta. If you want to make it sweet, try adding some honey. If you want it spicy add some chillies or Asian condiments like sriracha or gochujang. Also HOUMOUS is how most British white girls eat their salads, its looks like grey mulch but tastes great and is WAY healthier than ranch. Just dollop that on celery/carrots/cucumber for a snack Btw did you know that Tubthumping is all about class struggles in the UK and the lower classes having to drink their problems away?

Hey Ryan, I've got some decent recipes that are tasty and healthy but take longer than ten minutes - so 2/3 ain't bad. I'm pretty obsessed with meal prep - so basically front-loading all the cooking effort in exchange for not cooking at all for the week. Burrito bowls: - Rice (about one cup dry per five burritos); - Bell peppers and spicy peppers (per your preference); - Pinto beans (canned is fine); - Ground turkey or rotisserie chicken; Make the rice, oven roast the peppers, season the beans with some taco seasoning. For the protein, brown the ground turkey, put in some taco seasoning, add water, and cook down a bit. For the chicken, shred the shit out of it and mix it with your favorite hot sauce/salsa and taco seasoning. I usually add some lime and cilantro, too. Tastes amazing and will make about ten meals a week. If you wanted to make it even healthier, wilt some spinach and add it in for some greens.

For a lot of my dinners, I'll combine one or both of the "bases" below with some kind of flavor bundle (simple examples below), and mix it with either cooked rice (I make a huge pot every couple of weeks and store it in the fridge) or pasta: Veggie Base: Heat a little bit of olive oil or butter in a pan. Add a big spoonful of chopped garlic (you can buy pre-chopped garlic in jars from most grocery stores). When you hear the garlic start sizzling, add a big handful or two of costco brand frozen stir-fry vegetable mix (disclaimer; requires a costco membership, or a sympathetic grocery buddy with a costco membership. Worth it if possible; $11 for a giant bag of pre-chopped veggies). When the veggies don't look icy anymore, add salt/pepper/whatever other basic spices float your boat. Stir occasionally until all of the liquid evaporates. Done. Turkey Base: Heat a little bit of olive oil or butter in a pan. After a couple of minutes, add 1/8-1/4 of a tray pack of ground turkey. Break it up with a spatula into evenly sized little bits. Pour some rice vinegar (found in Asian food sections at grocery stores) or cheap vodka (found in more places than rice vinegar) over the top of it- this tenderizes the meat a bit, and makes it taste a lot better. Add salt/pepper/basic spices, and stir occasionally until all of the liquid evaporates. Done. Chickpea Base: Heat a little bit of olive oil or butter in a pan. Add a big spoonful of garlic. Drain/rinse a can of chickpeas. When the garlic starts to sizzle, dump in the whole can of chickpeas and add your basic spices. Stir occasionally until warm- you can theoretically eat chickpeas straight out of the can, but don't do it, it tastes kinda gross. For best taste, if you can stand to wait (it may take longer than 10 minutes), stir until you can hear them "pop." Done. NOTE: If you want to combine bases, I'd recommend cooking them separately and mixing them together at the end. EASY FLAVOR BUNDLE EXAMPLES (all spices can be found at most grocery stores, or sometimes in bulk at middle eastern/asian/hispanic markets if you have one nearby): -Italian: Add oregano and/or dried basil, and a big spoonful or two of tomato paste (can sub in a chopped tomato). Add some parmesan cheese on top. Best bases: Veggie, Turkey, mix of the two. -Indian: Add a spoonful or two of tomato paste, or one chopped tomato. Add paprika, ground cumin, and garam masala (more paprika than the other two combined). Best bases: Veggie, Chickpea. -Vaguely English: Add rosemary and thyme. That's it. Best base: Turkey. -Vaguely Thai/Pan-asian: Best with veggie base (add turkey at the end if you want to mix). Add soy sauce at the same time as the veggies. Add a shitton of paprika, shelled peanuts (better if chopped, but adds time), and your favorite hot sauce. For extra yum, add chopped ginger with the garlic at the beginning, and lime or lemon juice at the end. Best bases: Any on their own, or any veg/protein mix. To recap: Base + flavor bundle + rice or pasta= fairly healthy, fairly cheap meal

Asparagus: Coat in salt and pepper, tent three sheets of paper towels, microwave for 3-5 minutes on max power to steam. Burrito bowl: Microwave black beans and salsa together in a bowl for a minute. Top with shredded lettuce. Add a little sour cream or cheese if you want. Stir fry: Thaw frozen vegetables in the microwave. Heat a little oil in pan and cook them along with any fresh ones you have. Add soy sauce near end, chili powder (optional), and serve over rice or ramen noodles and top with crushed peanuts. (Indian variant: cook with cumin, chili, and tumeric and top with lime juice and crushed peanuts). Fruit yogurt: Microwave frozen berries (include a few strawberries!), mix in plain whole yogurt.

One tip I've learned is that eating spicy food with jalapenos or other spices can help you lose weight. Not because of anything to do with the spicy foods themselves, but because of the spice you will drink more water while you eat and fill up faster while eating less food.
@phabiorules

Honestly, a major thing is to add spices to food. Most people don't realize you need an elaborate recipe, but rather that you just need to properly steam/season vegetables, or add cut chicken into diced cubes, cook it, then add some seasoning. However, I do know one pretty good recipe. Coat the bottom of your pan with sesame oil (just enough to avoid sticking), then cut your chicken into incredibley thin slices (cut at a downward angle), then begin cooking them, spreading them out. In a bowl, combine about 1 tablespoon of soy sauce with one tablespoon of sugar, and stir it (depending on how much chicken you eat, you can increase the measurements.) Once the chicken is cooked pretty well, pour the sauce in so the chicken will soak it up. Serve it with rice and broccoli.

@phabiorules 3 года назад
Another healthy recipe is French toast. "But that isn't healthy" it is if you don't go crazy with the syrup. Get 3 tablespoons of egg whites and put them in a bowl. Add some Splenda, vanilla extract, and cinnamon (not cinnamon sugar). Combine them all, then dip a piece of bread in it. Cook the bread in a pan (with pam) and flip it when it is done. Eat it with either healthy, or no syrup.

Get beyond meat burgers....buns, lettuce tomatos ketchup, mustard and anything you'd put on a burger. 8 minutes tops to pan fry the patties 4 min each side on slightly higher than medium heat. Feel free to season patties, toast buns in toaster...assemble burger...enjoy. I suggested this since you eat a lot of fast-food... It's not super healthy, but it's definitely better.

My go to “I don’t really feel like cooking but I need vegetables” meal. Cook half a box of bow tie pasta according to package instructions. Cook a pack of frozen broccoli. Fresh is preferred but whatever. Also fun are these freezer packs of spring vegetables which have like zucchini, asparagus, peppers etc to turn this into a sort of pasta primavera. When pasta has about five minutes left Heat extra virgin olive oil (or regular olive oil. NOT vegetable oil) on medium low heat with spices to taste. I typically use some basil, parsley, pepper and red pepper flakes. Drain pasta and add it along with the broccoli to your olive oil and spice mixture and stir. Season to taste with salt and previously used spices. Incorporate Parmesan cheese and serve.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts. Easy, and it has honey & bacon. Wash, then halve and quarter the sprouts and dump them into a big bowl. Chop bacon up into small pieces and dump them in the bowl. Drizzle some olive oil in, then shake the bowl some to coat everything in with oil. Add some salt/pepper and garlic salt (or powder). Shake it up again then dump onto a baking pan. Spread those babies out evenly on the pan then drizzle a little honey on top. Stick it in the oven at 400 degrees until they are golden brown and a little crispy. So fucking good and easy, bro.

I think there are a lot of stews that would work in the sense of relative simplicity, since you mostly leave it to its own devices getting delicious and stir sometimes so it doesn't burn. Not going to be done in 10 minutes but if you make a lot, it ends up being a quick reheat.

Classic spaghetti sauce, universally duplicated all over the world: 1 large can of tomatoes (I like crushed, but diced, or whole, or whatever). 1 onion simply cut in half--nothing fancy here. About 1/3 stick of butter. Salt Bring to a bubble and leave on low simmer for 45 minutes. Remove the onion (I eat it, but official recipes say to toss it). Blend if desired, which is kinda necessary with whole canned tomatoes, optional with diced and kinda unnecessary with crushed. Put on any pasta with any meat. Optionally spice it more with garlic+other classic Italian spices. Blend well and thin with milk and you have tomato soup. Add cumin+chili powder and you have Mexican seasoned red sauce--slather into a tortilla with any meat, and grilled onions+peppers+whatever. Put between two tortillas with cheese, meat, veggies, heat in skillet, and you have a quesadilla.

Sorry man, the only thing I have is fried rice at at least 10 min (assuming you already have everything prepared) but it's pretty much all I eat. It's really lean, and it's a lot of fun to make. You throw in a bowl's worth (a cup or two) of cooked rice (preferably slightly undercooked) into a pan with a little oil and garlic at the highest heat you have, then you chop up a vegetable (my favorite is zucchini), throw that in there, chop up some cooked chicken (maybe half a breast, I like to marinade it in Paul Newman's Sesame Ginger Dressing the day before), toss around until it's kinda brown. Maybe throw in some teriyaki if you're feeling it. Then you eat it. I also like to throw green onions on it and Louisiana hot sauce. For bonus points, bake a sweet potato with a bit of salt on the outside and that's a not-unhealthy thing to eat on the side. I used to eat out a lot but since doing this I've done that so much less mainly just because this is really fun to make and it tastes good. It used to be Little Caesars 2 times a week and Cookout 3 times a week. Now it's pretty much nothing but variations of fried rice. Getting that rice cooker was easily the best $16 I ever spent too.

One pan chicken and veggies Prep and cleanup are about 10ish minutes. Cooktime is 25-30 but it's in the oven so set a timer to remind yourself to check it and you can do other stuff while it's all roasting. 1. Preheat oven to 400. 2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Curl the edges up so that everthing stays on the foil and so that cleanup is just throwing that away. 3. Cut up some veggies. Your choice. Good options include carrots, broccoli, and zucchini. Potatoes and onions are delicious but not the healthiest option so try to include other vegetables as well. Lightly coat these in some olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Throw these onto the sheet and try not to overcrowd them. 4. Season some chicken with salt and pepper. If you want you canthrow on some garlic or some generic italian seasoning. Fresh boneless/skinless chicken thighs are cheaper and have more flavor than chicken breasts. Put these in your foil lined pan, again making sure you have things spread out so they can cook more efficiently. 5. Put the sheet in the oven and check back in 25 minutes or so depending on the oven. If you have a food thermometer, check that the thickest part of the chicken is at least 165°. If not, throw it back in and give it a couple minutes or so, then check again (having washed the pokey bit of the thermometer). Once chicken is cooked and vegetables are tender, you're good. Eat what you want, put the leftovers in the fridge and have them for lunch the next day. Some tips: Look up how long it takes to roast the vegetables you choose since you may need to add some into the pan during the cooking process. That, or you can just have a second aluminum lined pan with the stuff that doesn't need to cook as long and just throw it in the oven at the correct time. E.g. carrots and potatoes tend to take longer to roast so they can go in at the same time as the chicken, whole broccoli and onions can get incinerated if they're in the oven for that long, so add those when there's 15-20 minutes of cook time left. Be careful about how much olive oil you use. Since everything is in the same pan it can quickly turn into an oily mess. Honestly just trying to do a light drizzle of it over your vegetables and toss them with some salt and pepper. If they seem to bed minute after doing so, go ahead and add some, but you don't want more than a thin coating of the stuff. Another good idea would be to get a crock pot. Lots of easy recipes online where all you need to do throw everything in there and cook on low for 6 hours. Perfect for when you're working at home so you can keep an eye on it.

Hey Ryan! So I suggest grabbing an airfryer dude! I know its 5 more than your requirements, but making pork chops in there takes no less than 15 minutes @ 400F! Grab a bunch of frozen veggies and chuck in the microwave for 5 minutes! You'll have low carbs, a lot of vitamins from the greens and high protein from the porkchops. Of course season your chops to whatever you want, but I like using paprika, salt, pepper and garlic powder. There's also this turkey meatball recipe I like. 1 package of Ground Turkey Paprika, Salt, Pepper, Breadcrumbs to taste 1 egg Mix together and roll into balls 1 cup of gluten free pasta, chicka peas work best. Low carbs and high protein! Boil this together and put salt and pepper.

Takes more than ten minutes to cook, but if you want low effort and no salmonella poisoning... You'll need: - chicken (your choice on what kind) - your preferred BBQ sauce - an oven (preheat to 350F) - some sort of cookware that'll fit the chicken and survive being in an oven Smother your choice of chicken in the BBQ sauce. Cook in the oven for upwards of 30 minutes (depending on how thick your choice of chicken is). Enjoy.

Cook ground beef ahead of time and freeze it in 1lb portions. Store it flat in a freezer bag to save space or in a Tupperware. Whatever style you like. Then just thaw and heat up a 4-6 oz portion to make a meal. Ground beef and minute rice cups (you cook them for 60 seconds in the microwave(. Add a little shredded cheese and a sauce of you’re liking. You can also add salsa and sour cream to make a taco kind thing with the beef and rice. Or a personal fave. All the ingredients for a Big Mac. Shredded cheese some pickle chips and a little thousand island. You get the drift. It’ll take some time each week to get the ground beef cooked, sorted and frozen. But once that’s done it’ll last you until you have to cook again. Literally just ate one. Took 4 minutes to put together. Including two separate microwave rotations for the rice and the beef.

(i like curry spices myself. just buy a mix if you want) 2. add tiny can of unsalted tomato sauce and simmer until its thick and doesnt taste raw (add spice to taste before it does tho) 3. add fresh herbs (i use cilantro for everything, but you do you) 4. portion with rice or eat the whole thing use scissors and you dont even need to wash a cutting board. Internet Shaquille's chickpeas video was my 'ramen noodles' when i lived in a dorm (but I usually added onions for nutrition). Get yourself a rice cooker and a Forman grill. Rice takes longer than 10 minutes to cook, but your portion will be less to set it up. You can throw in canned stuff into the rice cooker (beans, corn, canned tomatoes etc) and some spices. The Forman is great for cooking chicken breasts and salmon steaks. You can cook a salmon in like 5 minutes or less on the Forman. This was my intro to cooking as a bachelor. Everyone should have a rice cooker and Forman, followed by a good bread machine.

Man, this was me during university. Ramen, burgers and frozen pizza. RIP. Recipe time - Oven-made salmon. - Filet of salmon cut into strips/chunks about two-three fingers in breadth or so (not too big of a deal, just make them practical to portion out. - Put it in an oiled up heat-proof oven pan (glass or ceramic, whatever) - Chop up potato, bell pepper, red onion, tomato, asparagus, squash, etc. (mix and match whatever you feel like) and put it in the pan along with the salmon filet. - Put on salt and pepper and whatever other spices you think'll make it taste nice. - Secret tip: Mash up a buillon cube and drizzle it over the whole ting. Lots of flavor (and sodium, so be light with the salt if you're also using this one). - Some oil on top. - Out in oven for like 20-30 minutes or whatever on about 200-230 centigrades Idk what that is in Fahrenheit they don't tell me these kinds of things it's above my paygrade. - Sprinkle with some lemon juice if you wanna when it's done. - Bon apetit!

Or an insta-pot. Might not make rice as well, but good enough for this schlub. And since it can pressure-cook, it will get a hell of a lot closer to his 10-minute ask than what most will suggest, I'd imagine. Opens up huge possibilities. The problem might be that he's asking for everything for practically nothing. Instantaneous, dirt cheap, and healthy? C'mon, man... Probably takes longer than 10 min. to get some of that drive through or delivery. On an important note, I just looked up the definition of schlub and I retract my slander. As long as the rice cooker has a sealed lid (not a glass lid) you can get literally any cheap POS and it will make amazing rice. I lived in Japan 5 years and having a rice cooker was a game-changer. Rice is a great filler that keeps you from getting hungry, especially brown rice. Just don't overdo it. The Japanese eat rice with every meal and are often rail thin. Carbs aren't always bad if eaten in moderation.

Buy a can of re-fried beans, tostadas, 2 vine tomatoes, a small white onion, a lime, cilantro, and Serrano peppers if you like spice. Make yourself pico with the vegetables, shred the chicken, and cook the beans. Put the beans on the tostada, then the chicken, then the pico. Congrats you got yourself a decently healthy tostada that took 10 minutes to make and tastes pretty damn good.

Allow me to enlighten you: Get a crock pot or slow cooker. Takes almost no effort and you just have to start the process earlier in the day. You can use cheaper cuts of meat since they soften up so much while they cook. Pulled Chicken (Good for burrito/taco/quesadilla filling but also works with just rice) 4 frozen chicken breasts and a bigass jar of chunky salsa. Chuck them both in a slow cooker on low and go about your day. Come back 6-8 hours later and shred the chicken breasts with two forks and season with salt, pepper, chili powder and whatever else you like on chicken. You're now set on meals for the whole week.
